Took a trip up to the Catskill Mountains. I stayed at Glenbrook Farms for a week with my boyfriend, Evan, and his family, for a week and it was amazing.

Progress update on the Victorian Cthulhu boating party, that I started ages ago. Almost all of the elements that I’ve been working on over the past several months have come together.
- Deep One damsel and her Cthonic beau? Check
- grasshopper punter? Check
- servants in the water? Check
- menacing willow tree? Check
- swamp creature asking for tea? Check
- crocodile with sea tube worms? Check
- melting temple with tourists? Check
- foreboding cloud toad? Check
- unsafe stone bridge with pedestrians? Check
- toad fisherman fighting his catch? Check
- twisted manor house? Check
- creepy shadow bird? Check
- giant mutated turtle? Check
- lotus blossom fireflies? Check
- carnivorous lily pads? Check
Assembling them so each got a spot without blocking the others was an interesting puzzle.
Line work complete. Now for digital inking and color.

There’s something so magical about Willow trees, especially around fall when they turn into cascading falls of shimmering gold.
That’s why we’ve chosen them to be one of the many species of plants that we plan to use as one of the many focal points of Loreamour once we acquire permanent land.
A few fun facts about Willow Trees.
- They love being planted near water and can help with soil erosion.
- Not only do they provide food for rabbits and deer, but they also provide shelter for nesting birds.
- They can grow up to 3-4 feet a year. :)

Folktale Week 2019
I participated in “Folktale Week” over on Instagram for the first time this year and had a blast!
2. Secret - According to Irish folklore, individuals who harbor a distressing secret can sometimes fall ill with Galar Rúnach (Malady of Secrets). In order to become well again, the individual can confide the secret to a willow tree, which holds the secret in it’s bark. This can backfire sometimes though, such in the tale “The King with Horse’s Ears.” In that tale, the willow that holds the secret to the king’s deformity is cut and used to make a harp that sings the truth aloud to a crowd.
