Japanese Imperial family visited Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo.

On October 28, 2020, Japan’s Imperial family, that is, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, Crown Prince Fumihito and his wife Crown Princess Kiko, former Emperor Akihito and former Empress Michiko visited Meiji Jingu shrine in Tokyo, ahead of its 100th anniversary on November 1. Meiji Shrine is a sacred place built in 1920 and dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Dowager Shoken.

On October 29, Queen Margrethe, accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, hosted a concert a dinner in the Dome Hall at Fredensborg Castle for representatives of the unity of the Realm. Throughout the years, The Queen and Prince Henrik have held concerts at Fredensborg Palace to which various groups from society have been invited. This year, The Queen invited the some persons who make a contribution to the unity of the Realm between Greenland, the Faroes and Denmark.

On September 22, 2019, Princess Kako of Japan visited the Benedictine Abbey and Museum (Tihanyi Bences Apatsag) on the Balaton peninsula in Tihany. The Tihany Abbey is a Benedictine monastery established at Tihany in the Kingdom of Hungary in 1055. Afterwards, The Princess visited Porcelain Museum of Herend. Herend is the centre of artistic porcelain production in Hungary and it is the world’s largest porcelain factory, which has been operating for over 180 years. The Museum presents the technology used by the Herend porcelain factory and the history of this factory.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted 2019 Sweden Dinner

On September 20, 2019, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted the traditional Sweden Dinner (Sverigemiddag) at Stockholm Royal Palace. The aim of the Sweden Dinner is to honor people who have made significant local, regional or national contributions. About 200 guests were received and welcomed by the King, the Queen, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel at Queen Lovisa Ulrika’s Dining Hall. Among the guests, there were representatives from culture, industry, education and sports organisations in Sweden’s 21 counties, as well as county governors.
