17th May 2022 // The King and Queen, Crown Princess couple, and Princely couple joined the President and First Lady of Finland for a welcome ceremony to start the State Visit from Finland. In a wonderful show of fashion diplomacy, Crown Princess Victoria wore a dress from Finnish brand Andiata and a brooch from Finnish jeweler Kirsti Doukas

“There’s a video of the Swedish rf arriving for the Nobel banquet. It’s raining and King Carl Gustaf just jumps out the car and runs inside leaving Silvia to walk in by herself. Victoria and Daniel are standing there, and Silvia walks up looking a little shocked by what he did. Daniel gives Silvia a little pat on the back and then they all go in together. What a jerk! Day 12 of the Olympics—Members of the Danish Royal Family and Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia watch the men’s handball quarterfinal match between Denmark and Sweden. The Swedes came out on top 24-22 and move on to the semis.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted 2019 Sweden Dinner
On September 20, 2019, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted the traditional Sweden Dinner (Sverigemiddag) at Stockholm Royal Palace. The aim of the Sweden Dinner is to honor people who have made significant local, regional or national contributions. About 200 guests were received and welcomed by the King, the Queen, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel at Queen Lovisa Ulrika’s Dining Hall. Among the guests, there were representatives from culture, industry, education and sports organisations in Sweden’s 21 counties, as well as county governors.
The Swedish Royal Court has announced an incoming state visit from Finland.
Upon the invitation from King Carl XVI Gustaf, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and First Lady Jenni Haukio will be in Stockholm on 17 and 18 May 2022.
The invitation comes as declarations from authorities of both countries that Sweden and Finland are beginning to consider joining NATO.
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has turned 74 today and to mark the occasion the royal household has released new portraits of the king and his wife, Queen Silvia.
Queen Silvia of Sweden has delivered a message on the occasion of the Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference. During the three day conference, which is being held in London, speakers will report on the most recent progress of the WHO’s Global Action Plan against Dementia.
Within her message to the conference, Queen Silvia stated:
“Together we can raise awareness of dementia, and jointly advocate to improve the lives of those living with dementia and their loved ones.” - H.M. Drottningen
