People stand together while wearing masks in an effort to protect themselves from the Spanish Flu. The 1918 Spanish flu killed up to 50 million people around the world and has been called “the mother of all pandemics”.

As you can see, on the jacket of the right soldier there are 2 letters “PG” wich mean “Prisonnier de Guerre” (Prisoner of War)

(December 6th, 1849 - November 8th, 1945)

He started his service in 1869 as a volunteer with the Prussian 2nd Life Hussars Regiment and after he become Generalfeldmarschall .
He impressed the kaiser who ordered that from 17 June 1893 Mackensen command the 1st Life Hussars Regiment
He received the medal Blue Max “Pour Le Mérite” and the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross.

(6 décembre 1849 - 8 novembre 1945)

Il a commencé son service en 1869 en tant que volontaire hussard, en passant les grades au fil de sa carrière il est ensuite devenu Generalfeldmarschall.
Il a impressionné le Kaiser et celui ci a ordonné le 17 juin 1893 que Mackensen recevra le commandement du 1er régiment de hussards de la Garde.
Il a reçu la médaille “Pour Le Mérite” et l'étoile de grand croix de la croix de fer.

The Red Baron, Manfred Von Richtofen.
(May 6th, 1892 - April 21th, 1918)

Von Richtofen was one of the most famous German fighter pilot in the world during the World War One, he had officially 80 victories.
Originally a cavalryman, Richthofen transferred to the Air Service in 1915, becoming one of the first members of Jasta 2 in 1916.
He received the blue max “Pour Le Mérite”.

Richthofen received a fatal wound just after 11:00 am on 21 April 1918, while flying over Morlancourt Ridge, near the Somme River.
Controversy and contradictory hypotheses continue to surround the identity of the person who fired the shot that actually killed Richthofen.

Von Richtofen était l'un des pilote allemand les plus connus dans le monde durant la Première Guerre mondiale. Il a officiellement 80 victoires.
A l'origine officier de cavalerie, il a été transféré dans les forces aériennes en 1915, devenant l'un des premiers membre de la Jasta 2 en 1916.
Il a vite fait ses preuves et a reçu la fameuse décoration Blue Max “Pour Le Mérite”.

Richtofen a reçu un tir fatal juste après 11h00 du matin le 21 avril 1918, alors qu'il volait aux environs de Morlancourt, près de la rivière de la Somme.
Sa mort est toujours controversé et il y'a toujours des hypothèses sur l'identité du soldat/pilote qui a tué Richtofen.
