The glowing irradiated power cell Joey picked up wasn’t meant to be handled directly, as soon as she placed her fingers on it she began to grow to the size of a mountain until she let it go, not so little now!
Joey, when she had some time to sit down and think more calmly, later thought that ascending to her new size ought to have better words but at the time all she managed was ‘OH GEEZ WHAT THE HECK’-
The house was there. And then, it wasn’t. It happened too fast; the house just… vanished,her suddenly expanding body blasting right through it, the whole hive collapsing from the force of the growing girl inside it and then very suddenly outsideit.
Joey blinked. Bits of hive rained down from her like dust except a lot more mortifying, and once she learned more about Dammek, retroactively vindictive. She reached down, cradling the small creature barely big enough to fit on her fingernail. It had been so big before; now it was smaller than the tiniest kitten. She gently picked it up and put the surprised creature into her pocket.
Sidling away from the mess, the throngs of shocked trolls stunned out of fleeing away, she stood up, her shoulders brushing against low lying clouds, and she tilted her head down. There was a mess, just within arm’s reach, a bit of rubble, a big white creature digging desperately at rubble-
There!
She hurriedly leaned down, her shadow casting a good chunk of the region into shadow, and with a single delicate swipe, pushed the rubble off and picked up the tiny alien underneath it.
Xefros.
“Are you okay?” She asked, trying not to squeak or be frightened at how her voice made the trees move.
He squeaked; small, delicate, so helpless,so in need of her aid-
Joey turned her attention, instead, to the airship with a rather ominous pink mark on it.
She frowned, standing up and striding towards it.
In a very… vindictiveway.

when i first did this I didn’t like how it came out, mostly because i was going for the typical aracial homestuck look, which im not v good at replicating ^^’ but with the new one it feels a lot more nicely stylised and seems to just work better in general
