So everyone pretty much knows by now that I’ve gotten sucked into Miraculous Ladybug pretty hard by now, and today’s the third anniversary of the show’s release. I’ve only been in this fandom since mid-May, but I’m going to have some real talk for a bit because I actually have a lot I owe to this fandom and series as a whole.
When I stumbled over Ladybug, I was actually ready to give up art completely for physical health and mental reasons. I’ve been struggling for years with a situation that’s made art less something I loved and more something that I was punished for doing. It was a chore that gave me anxiety every time it was mentioned. I had grown stagnant, I didn’t like anything I made, and I’d already given up writing completely. It was the lowest I’d been in a long time and I was done. I found this show on one of my worst days when I was out for three days with a migraine that wouldn’t go away, and within a week everything had turned around.
Suddenly I was devouring as much as I could get my hands on, I was pulling all-nighters reading when I hadn’t read for fun in ages, I was finding loads of amazing new artists that inspired me to push through my slump and love what I made. It was a huge difference for me, and I haven’t felt this good about my work in nearly ten years. So as sappy as this is, I want to thank this fandom for giving back something I thought I’d never see again; my love for what I create and pride in what I make. And knowing that even if only a few people stumble over my work, there’s someone out there who truly loves what I do.
So in honor of the anniversary, I’m going to do a shout to the people that made a huge impact in bringing my art and writing back from its early grave.
And the artists in this fandom are absolutely stunning people, and I wish I could list everyone but I’m still finding new people every day that I need to watch. So to the people who are as new as I am or just don’t know this fandom, I’m going to throw down some names of people that make me want my art to be better. These people are incredibly talented and do absolutely adorable work, and y’all need to go check them out because I can’t do any of them justice.
And again I am so, so sure I forgot a million names but this fandom is absolutely stellar with the things they make, and I can’t even begin to list the tip of the iceburg. So, as someone who is getting better a little every day, I want to say thank you to everyone who makes content in this fandom. I might not have found everything, but what I have seen is absolutely inspiring and has done so much to help me want to improve and get past my own slumps. See you all when the next episodes drop!

I don’t have a box for Final Fantasy 1, so I’ve been keeping it in the Final Fantasy IV case. All of these games have been gently used, or were already pre-owned when I got them. Everything is $10 or best offer, plus shipping.
I need to work on my upward angles, they always seem fine when I’m drawing the eyes and then things go squirrelly on me. Still I think I have a better feel for him than before but he might end up with a facelift again at some point since he doesn’t feel quite right yet. But what’s really getting to me is his facial design looks really familiar and I can’t place why. Probably why he’ll get a facelift.
Tired of the Nonsense seems to be a reoccurring theme among the party members, but the Rogue is exhausted from the beginning. Sent to the fortress to assassinate the supposedly evil Overlord, he ends up getting proverbially strong-armed into being her first recruit instead. This ends up being one of the Healer’s favorite facts to drag up during campfire meals, heckling him for not getting paid nearly enough and not even being able to finish the job. Considering the consequences of what might have happened if he hadfinished the job and let her council members loose with a demon possession, he is fairly certain he’d rather be dragged along if it means the whole countryside doesn’t end up a magically corrupted wasteland.
After all, no one can get paid or gets new jobs if all the potential employers are thralls, now can they? Still, he seems almost unnaturally even-tempered if a little dour, and it raises a few suspicions among the other party members that not all is well with the man, though he does keep his opinions to himself.

Slowly my hands are recovering so here is the Overlord from an original story that may or may not ever become a finished thing. Hopefully it will, one day.
She’s Small and Tired and just wants to go home and read her books and cuddle her Spooky Bone Dogs but instead she’s out putting together a band of misfit adventurers to take down the idiots in her council circle that went full nonsense and decided it’d be a great day to be possessed by demons. She just needs a nap and people to stop trying to blow up her fortress when she’s trying to study, she can’t keep asking the townsfolk to help rebuild whenever some wandering sells-sword thinks it’s a great idea to assassinate the local scholar because someone thought she needed to be called “overlord” just because her fortress has an Aesthetic.

In other news: I probably won’t be getting anything done today because migraine town. My gosh I don’t know how people with chronic pain function mine isn’t even that bad it’s just annoying all the time but these headaches. The headaches can go. They’re the worst I lose entire days. So instead here I am reblogging because I’m actually rather proud of that soft fluffy hair. She looks so cuddly. Just. The maximum amount of poof. Probably doesn’t have a tight enough curl to turn it to locks but she’s got extreme fluff action. Now I just need to feel human enough to draw the rest of the Squad.

I love him so very much and I wanted to draw him right, and trying to fit him onto a page so I could show off all the fun bits of his design was an experience. I love everything about him, so I was determined to do him justice, but my favorite parts are absolutely the toebeans and his claws. Though I am also particularly proud of his floof and soft-looking snoot as well. I could yell about this all day, in spite of the exhaustion. SO THERE’S ACTUALLY A FUNNY STORY TO THESE, I read the amazing fic Velvet Soft (found hereon tumblr, and hereon Ao3, warning for mature content!), and then I got commissioned and I almost screamed from excitement?? Because Saij’s work is such an inspiration and THAT PENCIL ART IS LIFE GOALS like??? Hhhhhffffff. But yes anyways I am ridiculously happy with how these both turned out, though apparently the scanner I use is STILL determined to wash out half my shading, but I made it work. It was unbelievably fantastic to get asked to do art for one of my role models, and when I was told to just draw the character however I want, I knew exactly what to do. Art for my fave fics of course! I’m shameless, I know, but I couldn’t resist.

I HAVE RETURNED now that I have officially finished moving (if not unpacking). SO HERE HAVE A VERY BELATED ACTUAL CAT CHAT while I’m busy kicking my heaps of things into the darkest corners and finding where all my extra sketchbooks were squirreled away by past me. I am incredibly tempted to ink this, but I need to give my hands a few more days to rest because I feel like I’ve been doing nothing but moving ridiculously heavy boxes for days and my limbs are half-liquefied even after two days of just sorting papers.

Spooktember scribbles, dropping a bunch to kinda make up for missed days. Just Aerith getting ready to throw hands with the usual people like Don Corneo, plus some creeperfaced Ardyn. I won’t lie, if they tone down Aerith and make her all Soft Aesthetic for the remake I’m going to be so disappointed. Not surprised, because well, boys and their TOKEN WAIFUS, but very disappointed. She was one of the things that made that trainwreck of a game bearable.
Also been gone because I thought I was moving out this weekend! Turns out my roomie got invited on a mini vacation on Wednesday and is gone for the weekend and I’m watching their spootlet. To say I did not take this news well is a mild understatement but I managed to reschedule some of my friends helping me move to next week and requested an extra week at my job. Luckily my boss let me stay on another week or I’d have been…a lot more down about what happened than I already am. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT have some spoops.
