This artwork was designed for a UN initiative to help in translating critical public health messages into engaging artworks. I used cinematic storytelling techniques to deliver a global message. I wrote a blog post about the thinking process behind this art piece, here: https://www.alhyari.art/post/girl-power-and-how-a-digital-artist-thinks-a-blog-post-on-digital-art.

This piece is a freebie and I’m happy to share the original, print-ready PNG file (4,500 x 4,500 px @ 400 DPI, sRGB) through Alhyari.Art file sharing portal here: https://www.alhyari.art/file-share (sign-up required.) If you want the file in PSD, PDF, or TIFF format, or if you want the art process video (15 minutes in 4K), please contact me at [email protected]. These are also free for non-commercial use.

It’s said we’re all Edward Hopper paintings now. We are more like Search Results Web results Béla Tarr movie frames, I think.

This digital painting is inspired by a scene from Tarr’s The Turin Horse. Done with Procreate.

Painted digitally in Procreate, this painting was inspired by a photo reference and working on it was so exciting.

I drew the rough outlines and moved directly to the values. I used Procreate’s fat pencil for the whole piece. I added small details (e.g. hair, highlights, …) at the end using the heavy sketching pencil.

I also added a slight hue shift effect to give a hint of color on the surfaces facing the outside light, a detail that’s hardly visible.
