Mike and I were informed that today — June 19, 2018 (CORRECTION: *JULY* 19) — marks the 10th anniversary of the airing of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s finale episode. The international, multigenerational community built around this series we created together has grown so much over the past decade… It’s overwhelming. A HUGE thanks to everyone for the continued support and interest in the world, characters, stories, and animation we had the opportunity to manifest with the invaluable help and enrichment of so many talented, hardworking, dedicated people.

Love, Bryke ❤️

P.S. That’s Sara Kipin’s awesome Aang & Momo print in the background. @sarakipin

P.S.S. And I was subsequently informed by @marissaanne22 that the finale was actually on JULY 19 — NOT JUNE! Whoops… In my defense, I need bifocals and can’t read anything on my phone.

First I was a month early for the Avatar series finale’s 10th anniversary, and now I’m a day late. Andrew Whalen at Newsweek published an article last night about the making of the 4-part finale, featuring new interviews with directors Joaquim Dos Santos @jds_77 and Ethan Spaulding @ethanspauldingart3633 and series co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino @mike_dante_d and me. The theme, “10 Years, Looking Forward” can be interpreted many ways. You could illustrate something personal, about where you see yourself in 10 years, or perhaps where you see the future of our world in a decade. It can optimistic, pessimistic, scientific, emotional, humorous or anything else. This is our last challenge so we’re giving it our all!

I am obsessed with the 10 year anniversary pictures

Flying to New York tomorrow with the hubby for 5 days to watch Hamilton (finally), enjoy some good cuisine, museums, and celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary together! I’m proud of us and excited to get away for a few days. October’s been a crazy busy month and I haven’t gotten nearly as much art done and posted as I wanted to, but I’m sure November will see a return to more regular posting! Hope everyone has a great weekend and Halloween!

Happy 10 year anniversary TLOK and the community! Here’s my gift to you.

Also some slightly tweaked solo pics. May make a few gifs next week for them

Think Bo is my favourite, the lava was super fun to do

Teaser art for the legend of korra 10 year anniversary!

It’s redonk how many hours I’ve put into this and it’s still not even 100% done, but hey, the community’s been good to me ❤️

Happy Graduation Day, Panthers!

Even though commencement is virtual this spring, we hope you all feel the same joy in your accomplishment as the 2011 UWM graduates in these photographs!

Here at the UWM Archives, we are also celebrating the graduation of our two interns; Samantha with an MA in History and an MLIS, and Lizzie with an MA in Women’s & Gender Studies and an MLIS.  We wish them both the best for the future!

These photographs from UWM’s 2011 Spring Commencement Ceremony can be found in the UW-Milwaukee University Communications & Media Relations Photographs digital files here at the UWM Archives.
