Hello fellow nerds, hope you’re all doing well!

If you have been following my studyblr, you will know that my first ever 100 Days of Productivity has come to an end. Throughout the course of my participation in this challenge, I have gotten quite a few questions about what this challenge actually is. As I am starting a new 100 Days of Productivity on January 31st, I thought I’d write up an ‘About The 100 Days of Productivity Challenge’ post that covers what the challenge is,why it is awesome, and how to participate in the challenge.

WHAT IT IS

The 100 Days of Productivity Challenge is one of the most popular online productivity tags that motivates people to get things done! The challenge itself, put simply, is to try and accomplish at least one productive thing a day for 100 days. What is considered ‘productive’ is completely up to you. It can range from cleaning your desk to writing a 20-page research paper. Really, whatever you consider being productive can be classified as so. The challenge is super flexible, and I think that is why so many people love to participate in it!

WHY IT IS AWESOME

  • It establishes productive habits - 100 days is a pretty long time. Getting into the routine of doing one productive thing a day for this period of time really helps to develop productive habits that will improve your efficiency and organisation.
  • It is a great way to monitor the work you accomplish - The challenge offers a great way to keep track of what you achieve, whether you choose to document it online or on paper.
  • It motivates you to actually get things done - The expectation of completing one productive thing a day really does motivate you to actually do that one productive thing, and in the end, you achieve more than expected.
  • It provides you with motivation and support - This has to be one of my favourite aspects of the challenge. There are so many people who are apart of the online study community that participate in the 100dop challenge. We all encourage each other to achieve our best and support each other when we aren’t coping so well. This genuine support and encouragement makes being productive so much more enjoyable.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

It’s quite simple, really. You do one productive thing a day for 100 days, and you document it however you like. A lot of people, like myself, choose to post a 100 Days of Productivity Challenge Update each day on their online accounts with a photo and summary of what they achieved. I will be using #raf100dop to track my next 100 days, which I recommend you do as well! I’ll be sure to regularly look through the tag and support your posts!

If you would rather not post your documentation of productivity for this challenge online, you can keep tabs on what you achieve on paper instead! I would recommend either keeping a study journal where you write down what you get done each day or use online printables (I really like @emmastudiesprintable) to document your productivity.

TO REMEMBER

You can start taking part in this challenge whenever you like! There is no start and end date. I will be starting on January 31st, the start of my new school year. You are more than welcome to do the same!

You don’t have to be a dedicated study blog or account to partake in this challenge. Everyone is encouraged to get involved!

This challenge is meant to motivate you to be productive, and to make being productive fun! Don’t feel too pressured to post every single day. If you can’t cope with consecutive posting, you don’t have to! Just do what you are comfortable with.

That’s all for now, I hope this post has been helpful! If you are confused or have any questions, please feel free to ask! And if you do decide to participate in the 100dop, make sure to tag #raf100dop so I can check out your posts!

100 Days of Productivity 2020

Day Something of 100, 25 Sep 2020

Yo yo! It has been a hectic few months since I last posted a 100 Days of Productivity update. I’m now halfway through my second semester of university, and am loving my subjects. I get to do really cool independently driven multimedia projects in journalism, and read widely about ethics and justice in law! I’ve also been working  and spending time with friends a lot more, so its been busy and I love it!

Have just completed a few admin tasks for a journalism News Video Editor team I am a part of, and am moving on to start ticking off my massive to do list. Lets goooo!

100 Days of Productivity | 2020

Day something (I’ve given up on keeping track), 4th August

These last two weeks I’ve started work in the city and gone back to university (online) for my second semester of the year! (I’ve realised that working in the city is a tad dangerous – I end up spending a significant chunk of any money I make on coffee and food and the occasional book or funky jumper… and I don’t regret any of it mwahaha). I’m taking some really interesting subjects surrounding ethics and digital storytelling this semester for my law and journalism degrees, and I can’t wait to get into it!

I’ve picked up more shifts at work during these last few weeks of university holidays, which has given me more time to read! (I’ve found a really cute, sunny spot nearby work to walk to with my coffee and book during my lunch break - tis quite picturesque if you ask me).

100 Days of Productivity

Monday 11 August, 2021

My sister and I made a batch of brownies last night (lockdown baking is the only thing getting us through), and I’ve nearly demolished the entire thing already. I’m calling it necessary fuel to get through my to do list of the day.

New video is out, talking non-fiction reads!

Two assignments down, one exam to go.

I’m reaching the tail end of my university exam block, and I am soready to close the thirty tabs I have open in my browser once this is over.

That being said, triple chocolate chip muffins + coffee + a lovely view does make studying for a criminal law exam much more tolerable.

3 April, 21

So we are already four months into 2021?! (My brain is unable to comprehend).

I’ve just finished up at a full time internship (which was just incredible), and am back at university! The last week has been a miscellaneous mess of late night essay writing, podcast editing, bookshelf reorganisation procrastination, and drinking an unhealthy amount of coffee.

Just one more essay to go, and then I’ll be free for the next few weeks!

100 Days of Productivity Challenge

2021, Day 1/100

5 Jan 21

Almost a week into the new year, and I’m excited to be back at work tomorrow! I spent today organising a list of books I’m hoping to get to this year, and started reading A Man Called Ove. Also, in procrastinating my work, I picked up this old book of essays on Jane Austen’s Emma, which led me to a quote I found so interesting!

Horace Walpole on Austen: ‘This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel. Jane Austen’s novels are comedies, and can have little appeal to those who … believe thought inferior to feeling.’

My first thought when reading that quote was this: there’s two types of people in this world … thinkers (Austen lovers), and feelers (Bronte lovers). I like to think I’m a bit of both (though I’m definitely more of a feeler). I enjoyed studying Austen for her witty narration that turned the entire book of Emmainto a work of comedic irony exposing the triviality of gossip and parochialism. However, I found it so hard to get through, and not an enjoyable read. Jane Eyre, on the other hand, I simply loved. I was captivated and emotionally moved by it, and would consider it one of my favourite classics.

Sorry for the nerdy side-track. Would love to hear your thoughts!

100 Days of Productivity 24 December 2020

Uni has been wrapped up for the year, and I’ve been working full time!

Today is the perfect admin day - I’m working from home, so can attend to a bunch of little things that have been sitting around. My first task of the day was completely reorganising my room (which I’m very excited about) … next up is a reorganisation of the bookshelves! But first, it’s responding-to-emails time.
