Adriana is the stern commander of the defenders. She strategizes with the human generals and commanders before relaying the plan to the defenders that will be deploying. She has been in service for twenty years and has been the defender commander for eight. While she is very mission oriented, she puts the well-being of humans and her fellow defenders first. While the engineers don’t have ranks, Adriana’s engineer Ryan is the go to guy if any of the other engineers run into problems.

Adriana Lima for Christian Dior SS03 Ready-To-Wear.
Here is the solution for last week’s puzzle, Marchesa’s Trap. If you missed it, you can find it here.
The creature Marchesa secretly named for your hidden agenda is Brion Stoutarm. Here’s how you can use Brion to kill all of Adriana’s creatures and Adriana herself before the declare blockers step:
- First, let’s start things off by tapping on of our Cathedral’s of War and two Mountains to cast Besmirch, targeting Wall of Shards, gaining control of it until end of turn.
- Tap our second Bramble Creeper (the Stunt Dobule one), to cast Gather Courage for its convoke cost, targeting Brion Stoutarm. Echoing Boon triggers, have the copy also target Brion. Giving him +4/+4.
- Tap Lotus Vale to add GGG to our mana pool. Use one of the G to cast wing puncture, targeting Brion with both the original and the copy. Have Brion deal 8 damage to Bruna and Spirit of the Hearth, killing them both.
- Next, tap Orzhov Bascilla and the second Cathedral to add CWB to our mana pool. Use CB and a G from earlier to cast Grim contest, once again targeting Brion. The copy will target Wall of Shards. Brion and Raging Poltergeist will fight with their toughness, Brion dealing 8 and taking 1, and the Wall of Shards will fight Archangel, Dealing 8 and taking 5. Archangel and Poltergeist die.
- Using our last G, cast Prey Upon, targeting, you guessed it, Brion. Have the copy target Wall of Shards. Brion will fight Adrianna, taking 4 and dealing 8. The Wall of Shards will fight Typhoid Rats, both dealing 1 damage to each other. Adriana, the Rats, and the Wall will all die. Brion however stands strong!
- Adriana’s creatures are now all dead! So now it’s time to kill her before the declare blockers step. Lets use our floating W to cast Cloudshift targeting…Stunt Double this time! Stunt Double flickers back to battlefield, entering as a copy of Noblis of War.
- Go to the declare attackers step and swing with our Bramble Crush. Bramble Crush gets +5/+0 from its triggered ability, +2/+2 from the Exalted triggers, and +4/+0 because its an attacking creature. Making it an 11/5.
- Finally, tap our final Mountain to add R to our mana pool. Activate Brion Stoutarm’s ability and fling our now pumped Bramble Crush at Adriana for exactly lethal damage. Victory!
And there you have it! Although, with all the tools you have in this puzzle, it’s entirely possible to win using other cards as the named creature. I wonder which ones…
I’ll give everyone who solved this puzzle 40 Thopters.
Marchesa’s Trap
Puzzle #018
You are a soldier that serves the royal crown of Paliano, Queen Marchesa, and you have just received word that Adriana has formed a garrison with the intention of usurping the throne.
Marchesa has ordered you to quash the rebellion and says this to you:
“I’m getting really tired of this captain causing trouble in my city! I want you not to just defeat her, I want her completely humiliated! Make sure you destroy every creature she owns and, for the ultimate disrespect, kill her before she even has a chance to block! Don’t worry, as long as you have the secret weapon I gave you, your victory is assured.”
The secret weapon she’s referring to is the conspiracy card Echoing Boon. In order to destroy all of Adriana’s creatures and win before the declare blockers step, which creature did Marchesa name for your Echoing Boon’s hidden agenda?
