”We spend our whole lives trying to stop death. Eating, inventing, loving, praying, fighting, killin

We spend our whole lives trying to stop death. Eating, inventing, loving, praying, fighting, killing. But what do we really know about death? Just that nobody comes back. But there comes a point in life, a moment, when your mind outlives it’s desires, it’s obsessions. When your habits survive your dreams.”

Fame(1981). A chronicle of the lives of several teenagers who attend a New York high school for students gifted in the performing arts.

I enjoyed this so much more than I was expecting to. Yeah, it’s pretty disjointed and frenetic and grittier than it has any right to be, but it really captures both the headrush and the grind of what these kids experience. It’s messy, sure, but it also surprisingly really works. 7.5/10.

I spent the day with my best friend, and she introduced me to this wonderful film. I had heard of it, of course, but I had no idea how funny it was, or how true it rings to a musician. I loved it.

APUW is even funnier than I remember him being.

And I met a real-life version of him not long ago.
