#alterhuman positivity

LIVE

Even if you believe your memories to have never happened, they’re still real to you. They matter and they’re important, and they’re no “less” important than past-life memories. If you have exomemories you believe happened, those are also important and real. ALL types of memories are completely valid.

No matter how big or small your system is, your system is amazing. Don’t let system size determine how valid you are.

archiealterhuman:

Happy pride month to all LGBT+ alterhumans! Especially those who experience gender and/or sexuality differently due to their alterhumanity!

Having two or more -types from the same source is perfectly fine.

karaspookdog:

otherkin/therians who don’t identify as human at all are valid as fuck and no I will not argue on this

If your alterhuman identity is noncanon or an OC, that’s awesome! Just because you’re not canon doesn’t mean that you’re not real. Your experiences are real.

If your system can’t switch or switches rarely, that’s perfectly fine. You’re not broken or fake, being semi permanently or even permanently frontstuck is a common experience.

Persecutors in systems deserve to be respected. You’re not evil, your existence isn’t a burden. You’re people too.

Psychotic and delusional alterhumans are still alterhuman. You’re no less valid than a nonpsychotic alterhuman.

People who are questioning any sort of identity, take your time! You’ll figure it out eventually!

After some comments on one of my posts, I repeat, fictives, fictionkin and anyone else with a fictional identity are valid and are their own people, and are not to be treated like tools. We’re not here for your entertainment.

Fiction-identifying people with human or human-like identities are real, important and deserve to be able to talk about their experiences in the community. It’s not something that’s super common, but it’s still an important experience to talk about.

People who want to become nonhuman are valid in their experiences. Chosen nonhumanity is no lesser than identities you don’t choose.

People with species dysphoria, your experiences are real and you’re strong for continuing to keep going. You can do this, we believe in you.

If you’re not sure whether you’re otherkin, otherhearted, an otherlinker or something else, that’s okay! These identities are hard to figure out sometimes!

If your system functions differently to everyone elses, that doesn’t mean that it’s less real. Plurality is such a varied experience and no two systems function the same way. You’re real, you’re valid, and you’re no lesser for being different.

Shoutout to ‘kin whose beliefs aren’t cut and dry spiritual or psychological; those of us who accept aspects of both beliefs, or have different explanations for their different kintypes, or who waffle back and forth and aren’t sure which to believe. Sometimes it feels like, between the confidently spiritual kinfolk and the stalwart psychological kinfolk, there’s little room for us. Your experiences and beliefs are worth talking about.

sarksdimension:

I thought I’d relay something I’ve been told both by friends and my psychologist. It helps me feel better whenever I hear it, and I figured some people might need a reminder.

You shouldn’t be punished for things you’ve done in your memories of other lives. No matter what you remember doing, if you’ve done nothing wrong here and are trying to be better, that makes you a better person than you were before. If what you did before was terrible and you acknowledge that, you’ve become a better person already and you’re on the way to being even better.

This life, to me, is like a second chance, almost. People kept telling me that and it took a while to sink in properly. This is a place to process what happened and to heal from the damage that’s been done and move forward with being a better person.

Even if you slip up, remember that recovery isn’t linear and everyone makes mistakes. If you just keep pushing to become better, and you want to become better, you’ll get there. I believe in you.

It’s okay if you can’t figure out if your identity is psychological, spiritual or something else in nature. Your identity is important regardless of why it exists and you don’t need to fit into any boxes to make yourself valid.

Obscure and more stigmatised identites such as conceptkin, phytanthropes, objectkin and any others that are similar are as real as any other more common identity. You’re valid and you deserve space in the community.
