Have you dated in the past/are you currently in a relationship/do you eventually want one? Do you feel that your experience of autism/stereotypes around autism and relationships impacts this?

This is another one that’s super interesting for us to answer as a system

the only physical person any of us have dated was the old host’s ex, who we don’t really count because he was shitty. it didn’t go well for various reasons including that the old host is aroace actually and that the guy was… not good.

as a whole, we don’t plan on dating anyone (physically) at least for now. for one, most of us don’t want to anyway. we also have a couple kids in the system and have no good way of guaranteeing that the kids don’t front at any given time. throw in the fact that we don’t have a host anymore and who’s fronting changes pretty much every couple days, we’d have to get someone veryunderstanding of that and it’s just not likely. 

however some of us have relationships within the system (which are very healthy and with a lot of understanding due to sharing a brain) and some of us who were in relationships but now our partner(s) aren’t here. I don’t want to speak for them, so I won’t. They might come and add on to this post (either with reblogs or by editing it) later, they might not.

personally, i consider myself still taken even though i don’t currently have my boyfriend? for me, being autistic & the stereotypes didn’t affect things too much because we were both ~weird~ and both neurodivergent (he has ADHD) and our needs etc… actually matched up really well once we got over a few bumps (unrelated to ND stuff, just Things Happened)

we’re a little late because we were barely online on the actual 1st oops

so this is actually something we should have done a long time ago but we weren’t exactly comfortable with a lot of this when we first made the blog

long story short: we’re a system! for people who don’t know: a system is multiple people in one body. we have about 24 known members. we’re also autistic! the body is autistic, so all of us display at least some autistic traits.

additionally, a lot of us are what’s referred to as fictives which is a member of a system who is/is based on/is a version of a character. many fictives (all of us) have memories of what happened in the media we’re from (referred to as exomemories) and some of us (including me) were autistic before (canon or not), so we make a lot of jokes about us being double autistic

we all love star trek (huge special interest! plus we have 4 fictives from star trek and 2 of us who are canonically trekkies so that’s pretty cool) and books with lgbtq+ characters (though some of us have more trouble reading than others, thanks dyslexia and probable ADHD and the double dyslexics in here too), and we all knit

the body is 21 and we have varying ages! i’m 18, the youngest who might post is 15 and our oldest is… well, he won’t tell anybody but on the occasions he’s asked he says “almost certainly older than you”.

if people have questions (asked nicely) we’re happy to at least try to answer them though this kind of thing doesn’t always have nice clean answers!

who does the prompt each day might change (almost definitely, since our old host stepped down we haven’t had any one person front for more than about a week at a time) so that’ll be super fun

What will become of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot? Gas giant Jupiter is the solar system’s largest world with about 320 times the mass of planet Earth. Jupiter is home to one of the largest and longest lasting storm systems known, the Great Red Spot (GRS), visible to the left. The GRS is so large it could swallow Earth- but it has been shrinking. Comparison with historical notes indicate that the storm spans only about one third of the exposed surface area it had 150 years ago. NASA’s Outer Planets Atmospheres Legacy (OPAL) program has been monitoring the storm more recently using the Hubble Space Telescope. The featured Hubble OPAL image shows Jupiter as it appeared in 2016, processed in a way that makes red hues appear quite vibrant. Modern GRS data indicate that the storm continues to constrict its surface area, but is also becoming slightly taller, vertically. No one knows the future of the GRS, including the possibility that if the shrinking trend continues, the GRS might one day even do what smaller spots on Jupiter have done – disappear completely.

ahh ! hey ! so, uh, this week has been. kind of wild. it seems that im. part of a system ? (not 100% certain due to psychotic factors but its looking like it).

jay (alter) made contact this week, though at the beginning i mistook it for me developing an attachment to his source due to psychosis. this idea was kind of scratched given the fact that he’s a different person, has his own feelings and thoughts, and has been attempting to front for multiple days. we also have another, nonhuman alter, who’s less communicative but more knowledgeable of the inner workings. 

so, anyways, i learned that antipsychotics can interfere with a systems ability to communicate and switch, and due to the fact that i’ve been on antipsychotics for multiple years, and only recently switched my dose and the type of medication (im now on an extended release version of the same medication) we’re thinking that thats what fucked up our system. most of my early symptoms (of what we’re leaning towards as being osdd-1b) are from before i went on my meds, and ??? struggled a lot the last time they fronted (which was last year).

we’re thinking that im front stuck due to the meds since jay isn’t able to front (and trust me, we’ve been trying) and even ??? (our gatekeeper) was pretty confused until we discovered the medication thing.

any advice on how to get un-front stuck without going off my meds (because i really need them, and they work for what they’re meant for)?? we’re all struggling to normalize due to how much we’ve been dissociating and the inability to switch.
