Amabie! Amabie is a 3 mermaid tailed yokai mascot! It is said if you draw her she will being you good health! WELL I cant think of a better time to draw her ! This is just a quick doodle but I like her :)

I drew Amabie, which is becoming popular in Japan. Apparently the yokai heals people! It’s said that if you show a picture of it to others, they’ll be cured of disease. Please continue to stay safe guys! ✨

Amabie アマビエ様 is a yokai that wards off an epidemic if you show a picture of her to other people. Japanese artists are drawing her for good luck/morale. I thought that was a really sweet idea. We can really use some hope during a time like this.
I’m lucky, I can work from home while the situation worsen everyday in the UK. I’m basically self isolating while I see this country following the same pattern of my home country, Italy. My family there is safe and still coping. It’s hard times but the only thing we can do is try to stay positive and don’t loose it to paranoia and fear.
Hope everyone stays safe.

It has long flowing hair, a mouth that is shaped like a bird’s beak, scales from the neck down, and 3 lower appendages (legs/tails). It is said that seeing one brings good harvest, good sea weather, and a cure to all illnesses in the nearby area.

My birthday’s tomorrow (Aug 19) and a few days ago I had the idea of making a wishlist of things people can draw form me (plus a reminder to buy my stuff and donate to my Patreon and Ko-fi) on my Twitter account. Of course that list included several of my personas and OCs so I pulled together some old drawings I had and made some ref sheets with some added notes. I’m very pleased with how they turned out and they were a lot of fun to make which is the main reason I wanted to post them here.
I also wanted to post the ref sheets on Instagram but ended up going completely overboard. I had started by adding patterns behind the ref sheets to fit them into squares and ended up recreating the whole list in picture form. I worked an entire day on it then I woke up the next day and was like, “…I didn’t need to do this!! I just wanted to share the ref sheets!” So because I worked so hard on them and because Instagram doesn’t like tumblr that’s why those last four images are here.

You can make something for me if you want to of course. And don’t worry about sending it on the day of my birthday. Actually, I’d be happy if you just submitted whatever yokai art you have to @jigokuyeah and @1000amabie for me to reblog.

My birthday’s Aug 19th and I had the idea of making a wishlist for my twitter followers of things they could draw for me (plus places where they could buy my stuff and donate to me). The list basically basically consists of 3 types of my persona, 2 OCs, and Amabie or any other yokai. Of course I needed to provide references for my personas and OCs so scraped up some drawings I had and put them together with notes. I had so much fun putting these ref sheets together that I wanted to share them here on Instagram. But first I needed to make them all square shapes so I could post them together. So I added patterns to fill the negative space and I got so into it that I forgot that the purpose of this post wasn’t to recreate the twitter wishlist thread, it was just to post the ref sheets I made cus I liked them so much. I worked so hard on this I thought I might pass out!
Well, so here’s a list of everything on the list
1. Standard Cattype (my usual cat girl persona)
2. Baké Cattype (my yokai persona that I use for my Jigoku Yeah twitter)
3. Beasty Cattype (a more cat than girl persona that’s just funny)
4.Toni the oni (my OC and mascot for my Jigoku Yeah Twitter/Tumblr)
5. Anise the dream eater girl (a new OC I posted here recently. She’s a baku who pretends to be a magical girl)
6. A collage of a few of my favorite yokai
7. Amabie (this design’s going on my cake)
