Contour Line-Art Sketches- Spiderwork hyper-fixation goes brrrr
[Image ID: An ‘Alice by Heart poster. In the middle near the top is an illustrated gold pocket watch ‘Alice By Heart’ is is red text above it. Under the clock there is white text that reads “A New Musical. A white curtain behind it that splits the background into two sections.” Over the curtain is a grey top of a stone subway/ tube tunnel. Underneath the curtain is a collage of John Tenniel Illustrations over illegible text and an illustation of a rose garden. At bottom over the visuals is white text which reads: “Booth Theater/ 222 West 45th Street” with ‘www.alicebyheart.com’ under it in smaller text. On the curtain reads ‘Book by Steven Sater & Jessie Nelson. Lyrics by Steven Sater. Music by Duncan Sheik’. /End ID]
I just think it’s an interesting show even with its flaws. Also John Tenniel made some pretty good Illustrations for collageing: I did try to pick ones significant to the show though! (The blurred text is from the first chapter of Alice in Wonderland)
Note: I picked a random broadway theater on a list I found it has not run at the Booth Theater as of 2021.
[Image IDs: Three photos of a wire teddy bear. Image 1: Front view of the teddy bear, it is built from Skeleton made up of black wire. It has brown button eyes and a leather wrapped nose. The smiling mouth is is copper-colored wire. Its right arm is raised into a wave and the left is further back. Inside of it is loose stuffing.
Image 2: A photo showing full body profile of the sculpture. This highlights the round belly that gets wider near the bottom. The wire fastenings if the knots down the front and across the arm are more easily visible.
Image 3: A photo close-up of the teddy bear’s face. This shows details on the buttons, the left eye is a white button with brown spots and the right is a solid brown. The round ears are uneven. /End ID]
3-D Wire project, I thought it’d create a nice contrast w/ it being metal/ hard/ open compared to the soft/ squishy nature of stuffed animals.
[Image IDs: Image 1: A series of three small carved ‘mannequins’ that only feature clothing. They are mounted on a wooden dowel and circular cardboard base.

The second is of a button-up with a flannel pattern. There are pink and blue stripes over the yellow background. The leggings are in a blue to pink gradient. The left forearm arm is forward and the right leg is a step back.
The third is of a pink dress with a yellow peter pan collar. There is a blue cardigan over it. The right arm has the forearm forward.

My carving project using floral foam. I was hoping to show how gendering clothing (with this gendering and sectioning in the market happening in the USA post-WW2) is unnecessary as it feeds into rigid gender roles. This effect was emphasized by removing the body in the mock mannequins, referencing Greek statues (particularly ‘Doryphoros’ and ‘Peplos Kore’),and finally through mixing child-like bright colors for the finish. I referenced different clothing I wear and common children’s clothing similar to them for he final project.
[Image ID: A Black and White Print. It is split in two halves with a diagonal line of waves and sea foams. In the top half is a boy with wavy hair sitting on the beach looking to the left with a pensive expression. He is wearing a white button-up shirt with the sleeve rolled up to his elbows and jeans. His arms are pulled back and supporting him, his feet meet the waves. There is a dock in the background.
In the bottom half is a mermaid with wavy hair looking distressed, she is curled inward. He hair is suspended around her and her arms are curled around her body. in the background are lines of seaweed and bubbles framing her. Also there are wavy lines that thin around her to look like the ocean.
On both figures are three thin lines on their neck that look like gills. /End ID]
Oh Look I made The Little Mermaid Trans b/c I felt like and and wanted to do a project connected to my transness and then the Disney musical has the world above and idk it feels like it could fit in an interesting way w/ twisting the narrative
Made this print for class, working on a mono-print but I do like how the original Litho print looks and want to post something so!
[Image ID: an Ink drawing of a cat with a watercolor wash.
The cat is facing the veiwer and is sitting on a blanket. The cat has stripes on its body and face. The paws and tail face to the left. The cat’s eyes are coloured green and the nose is colored red. The collar tag is colored purple.
The cat is alert with a neural expression.
There are some notes about homework in the top right homework]

[Image ID: A paper disc with painted designs on it which is on top of a cardboard backing of a notebook. The painted designs and in three rings.
The outer ring has the silluquette of a ‘Worm on a String’ in black with a white dot in each ‘worm.’ In this ring there is one facing right on top of one facing left. There are six pairs of these worms.
The Middle ring has a Neander Line design where at the top of the ring there is a line outlineing the circle attached to a line the goes in and then a horzonal circular line against the interoir edge of this ring. Every qaurter the line and the negative space inverts, so that the line is black with a white background on the top right and bottem left quadrent, and the line is in white and the background is black in yhe top left and bottem right quadrent.
The interior ring has a series of trianges layered inside one another going between black and white for each interoir triangle for four triangles in each section. There are 8 large triangles. Every other section the pattern invert so that half have a black outer triangle, then a white triangle inside it, then a black, and a white innermost triangle. The other half have vise versa. /End ID]
Benham’s Disc for a class so time paint worms on a string.
[Image ID: a gif of digital illustration of Jared Grace in profile with a glowing Green Spite floating over his hand. The light dims and brightens. In the background there is a dark violet sky with black trees in front and dark green grass on the ground. /End ID]
Tbh maybe not my best work but still a move to submit spiderwick fan art as homework under “well someone could make an animated series” explnation not that short semesters and 1 week to do it means: I will do what I want if I can get work done.
Also the glow effect is kinda relaxing and i dont have the energy to make edits rn so posting anyway.
[Image Id: Loose watercolor and pencil illustration of Alice Spencer, in a blue dress and brown hair, and Alfred Hallam, in the white rabbit suit jacket and vest, in front of a white fence with roses on it. There is a small golden key at the bottom and green text that reads: ‘My Lovely Rose Garden.’
