I hope BeForever Molly is returning, because I just love her meet outfit so much, and would love to snag it for my 35th Anniversary Molly. Those little saddle shoes!

At first, I got really excited, but then I came across this while looking through Julie’s abridged first book. That’s her original meet turtleneck, but this book released a little over two years ago, and her original meet is still not available for purchase.
Anyone with the other abridged books, are there any other new illustrations with classic outfits?
I just read Courtney Changes the Game and Courtney: Friendship Superhero, and I loved them! I was so prepared to be underwhelmed by them, because all of Courtney’s advertising is just 80s nostalgia, but her books are so much more than that.
The first quarter or so of both books start off very 80s nostalgia heavy, but then they start to deal with more serious topics, particularly Friendship Superhero. The Molly subplot really helped break it up a bit.
I was very impressed by it! It really read like the earlier historical books, with heavier topics and all. (I heard that Melody and Nanea’s books are also like this, can anyone confirm? I’d love to read them if they are!)
I’m happy that AG is really going back to giving the historicals books like these.
Overall, I just really enjoyed Courtney’s books, and would love to discuss them with you all!
People hype up Samantha’s Classic meet outfit so much and talk about the great quality of it, so I expected it to be really nice, but after actually getting it, I’m really underwhelmed. It is very thin, and feels like it is about to rip in half. I understand her BeForever meet outfit’s appearance isn’t very well liked, but the quality is a million times better in my opinion. That said, I do love the look of her old dress, I just wish it was a bit thicker.
The other day, a listing appeared on Amazon for a new Molly book available for pre-order, with a release date of June 2nd, 2022!
It’s called “Molly: A Winning Spirit”. Sounds similar to her first BeForever book, which was called “A Winning Spirit: A Molly Classic 1”, and follows the other abridged book’s titles, with the character’s name featured at the beginning of the title.
It says it has 136 pages, 24 pages shorter than her BeForever book, which was 160 pages. Based on the description, it seems the book that got the chop surprisingly wasn’t “Molly’s Surprise”, but rather most of “Meet Molly”. I have a hunch that American Girl wants to distance themselves from Molly’s hula dancer costume, and since most of “Meet Molly” takes place around Halloween, it got removed.

On American Girl publishing, Molly got a new logo, like all the other historical characters as well!
