A knock on your door startled your Saturday night Netflix binging. You set your popcorn on the table rather loudly, annoyed at whoever had the guts to interrupt the only free time you could get at 11PM. Your hand hurried to the doorknob to stop the vigorous knocking, and you were met by a tired-looking Ground Zero, looking big with his grenades and hero costume intact.

You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at the sight. “Work got you again?”

“Let’s not talk about it,” was the only thing he muttered before you let him in, taking off his large weapons and placing them on the side of the door along with everything else that was bothersome to him. He was left in a black tank top and baggy jeans.

“You know, you need to come home sometimes,” you tell him, setting your hands on his sturdy biceps. “Your mom’s probably thinking you’re dead by now.”

His eyes closed in pleasure as your hands started to knead, hitting him in all the right places. “Please, the old woman’s enjoying the house to herself.”

“What about Masaru?” you asked, taking a better look at his attire. You had no idea he looked this good without the extravagant hero accessories on.

“Left for a business trip. I don’t know where.” He groaned, leaning into your other hand that raised to caress his cheek. “You’re seriously a martyr for taking me in after everything I’ve done to you.”

“Past is past, I suppose,” was all you could say.

Bakugou—or as you called him, Katsuki—was your ex-boyfriend. Unknown to others, and most of Class 1-A, since you decided that keeping it a secret would be best, given the constant danger your lives were put in. Any kind of secret that would reveal a rising hero’s weak spot can and will probably be used against them. And unfortunately, Bakugou’s weakness was you.

It ended when the both of you decided it wouldn’t work out with the way things started to change pace. He was completely set on becoming the best hero in Japan that he barely went home to your shared apartment. He found an agency that would take him in—much to his dismay, working with Half and Half Bastard under Endeavor’s Hero Agency.

You, however, had different plans. You were working to become a minor hero in your prefecture, as you didn’t want to be under the constant stress of fearing for your life at the top. Bakugou constantly tried to coax you out of that mindset, saying that he knew you could do way more, but you just weren’t having it. The lack of time and different outlooks caused a major fallout that eventually resulted in a mutual break-up.

However, despite moving out and getting rid of everything you shared, Bakugou always found his thoughts drifting back to you. He shrugged it off the first months, thinking it was part of the shitty moving on process. Until he couldn’t take it one fateful Thursday night and found himself crying on your doorstep, practically begging you to take him back.

It struck a heart string to see him like that. He never ever begged anyone for anything, and to hell with showing his emotions to people. The fact that he was completely sober, had the right state of mind to rethink his decisions, and still came back to you—it was too much. You, too, were having trouble with the moving on process, but nothing was going to be fixed with this set-up. If you took him back, you’d argue over the same things all over and over again.

So it ended up with you letting him sleep over, and making the pro hero promise to leave the next morning. A part of you still cared deeply for him, and didn’t want to see your Katsuki cry, staying in his embrace the entire night and having to fight back your own tears. As expected, the promise was broken, and he stayed over for another night, and another,—maybe just one more?—until coming back to you became an unspoken habit of his whenever he “needed support after all his missions”. You knew it was just because he missed you.

And you missed him, too, deeply.

“Do you mind if I…” he suddenly started, snapping you out of your thoughts as the both of you sat down on your couch.

“Go ahead. It doesn’t matter anymore,” you replied. Katsuki rested his head on your shoulder, closing his eyes and basking in the sweet smell of your perfume.

A comfortable silence wrapped you both, only the television volume giving light to the ambiance that settled.

“You should shower,” you mentioned. He didn’t necessarily smell bad, you just wanted him to move away and stop your thoughts.

“Do I smell?” he asked, a genuine tone laced in his voice.

“No.” You couldn’t hold back the hand that made it to his spiky hair, patting gently. “I’m just worried you might be tired.”

“I think I’m good here,” Katsuki insisted, leaning further into you.

His left hand started to wonder places, landing on your right. His thumb rubbed mini circles on yours, matching the pace of his calm breathing. After a few more circles, his arm moved behind the small of your back, switching your positions quickly and letting you lean on his stern chest. You adjusted yourself to sit in between his lap, faces dangerouslyclose.

You could kiss him then and there, and you knew he wouldn’t be opposed to that.

Or would he?

You could test your hypothesis, but your brain was telling you otherwise. It was impractical to let your heart rule over you again. The way that he was coming back to you even though you were supposed to move on was dumb enough. A kiss would just cross the line.

You sighed in defeat.

“What?”

“Nothing,” you brushed off. But you knew he wasn’t going to let that slide.

“If I’m bothering you—“ he started, but you were quick to interrupt.

“No, you’re not, Katsuki.”

He lifted his head, looking straight into your eyes. “Then why do you look like that?”

You raised an eyebrow. “Like what?”

“Like you can’t wait for me to fucking leave.”

Apparently, your facial expression gave it away. It’s not that you wanted him to leave, though.

“I probably should,” he retorted, getting up from his seat. “None of us is going to move the fuck on with this, right?”

Bakugou rose and made his way to the door, carefully gathering his stuff. The sight made the pain in your heart worsen—every step was a dagger to your already tainted heart. He was hesitant, too, slowly moving as he took jagged breaths.

None of you was willing to break the awkward tension in the room, until you choked out the only words you could make out from the flurry in your head.

“What if I don’t want to move on?”

He turned around. “What the fuck do you mean?”

“I don’t want to fucking move on,” you repeated, harder and angrier this time. The lump in your throat seemed to let go of its grip when the tears came out, blurring your vision completely. “I don’t want to fucking lose you anymore.”

It seemed like you cried for an hour with how unexpectedly painful it felt. Not once in your solo crying sessions did you feel something quite like this, and seeing him make his way to the door was reliving it all over and over again.

You wanted to remind yourself why you hated him—why you hated that everything he did was a reason for you to love him even more.

You hated how he always managed to disrupt your thoughts without him even being there. You hated the way he used to tease you about the way you cooked, but held you safely in his arms as he taught you how to do it better. You hated the way he would talk to you in your sleep, sweet nothings that would never come out in broad daylight. You hated how he comforted you when you needed it most, telling you he’ll be your shield when the world’s out to get you. You hated the way he looked at you on dates, like you were the only woman on earth, and nothing and nobody else mattered. You hated how the two of you used to dance to the same Arctic Monkeys song on the radio, and pointed to every sappy love song that came on and told him it was your song. You hated that he stayed up with you on the nights you had to study, and took you to new midnight diners downtown if he decided you needed a break. You hated waking up next to his stupid face staring back at you, waiting for you to wake up so he could finally be with the love of his life.

But most of all, you hated how your heart still belonged to him after all this fuckingtime.

Warm hands made their way to the back of your head, pulling you closer and rubbing your back.

“I don’t want to fucking move on, too.”

You looked up at him. His face mirrored the same expression as yours, tears in his eyes and lips trembling as his crimson eyes found yours.

For once in his life, he was completely sure of taking a risk for something—no, someone—he was completely, head over heels weak for.

But if you were there, none of that mattered anymore.

“I still love you, Katsuki,” you whispered, leaning closer into him and feeling the warmth of his shaking body radiate onto you. “I don’t want you to slip out of my grasp anymore. I know you might not feel the same, but please—please—let me kiss you one last time before you go.”

Katsuki pulled you up, his arms resting steady on your back. “I’m not leaving, you idiot.”

Leaning in, his lips touched yours, and slowly, the sparks, the cliche sparks you once felt with your teenage love came back. He was still the same red-faced boy who accidentally cursed you as he confessed his attraction, stray flowers from UA’s grass fields in hand. In another held a tiny teddy bear that was wrapped in an orange box with a note attached in rather messy handwriting—I like you, dumbass.

“I was hoping you’d take the hint after all this time, but I still love you, idiot.” Katsuki moved your messy hair out of your face, wiping the tears that kept coming down, not minding his own. “I’m not leaving you ever again. And I’m not letting some other extra take away what’s mine.”

“You’re such an asshole.” You laugh at your own teasing, and he does too. “We’ve got to do a thing about our problems, though.”

“About that,” he responded, a little smile forming on his face. “After shitting on myself for months on end, I realized how much of an asshole I was to you. You should never have to compromise your dreams just because of my shitty opinions. Be the hero you want to be, love. I’ll always support you if that meant your happiness.”

In shock at the Bakugou that was in front of you at that moment, you were at a loss for words. You hugged him with all your might. That was the only thing you wanted to do as you realized he finally changed, and was willing to make your relationship work the second time.

“Stop crying, dumbass! You’re going to make me cry, too,” Katsuki teased.

“Idiot, you’ve literally been crying for the past ten minutes. Let it slip for today.”

He chuckled. You rested into his embrace, feeling contentment fill up your heart.

movie night with bakugo katsuki

bakugo katsuki isn’t a fan of people — but he is for a fact, a fan of you.

an undeniable truth that everyone clearly understands as they silently watch both of you in the couch, you playing with the intimidating blond boy’s hair with a small smile as he sleeps peacefully on your lap, the occasional twitching of his eyebrows from the different noises seen.

movie night with the class tend to last longer than anyone expects it to be so you use it to your advantage. since sleeping in the same room isn’t allowed (aizawa’s scolding still engraved in your mind the first time he caught you two), you’ve been inviting him out to join the bonding experience with the intention of spending more time together and also because you really want to cuddle with him.

if it was anyone else persuading him to come, bakugo will surely give out a curse and flip them off. he’d rather train alone and go to bed early like he always does.

but because it’s youthat’s asking, of course he has to go.

it always starts the same way every time. he’d roll his eyes and snaps at you that it’s pointless to enjoy the evening with “some extras” yet you find him following you later to sit at the sofa, scowling at kaminari to back off from his spot or threatening to skin mineta alive for eyeing you up.

don’t get him wrong. he still thinks it’s pointless to be with a bunch of extras.

he doesn’t care about the movies or the not so quiet conversations of his annoying friends. he doesn’t even give attention to midoriya’s constant muttering when describing the film.you’rethe reason he’s here. you were the one that sought after his warmth at night — and it’s not like he’s complaining or anything because he’s just as much wanting it as you though he’d die before he admits that.

when you nudge him to lay on your lap and when your eyes twinkle with giddiness when he does so, bakugo finds it bearable to stay in the living room with everyone else. when you use your fingers to massage his scalp and when you intertwine your unoccupied hand with his large ones, bakugo finds it easy to close his eyes and just rest even with all the loud sounds. his ears never fail to catch your voice when you say something to your classmates. he waits for the moments that you’d laugh or complain about a scene because it’s the only ones he’d be willing to listen to.

he sleeps later than usual whenever there’s a movie night but who cares anyways when he’s with you and you’re softly tracing the features of his face?

Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight supremacy (nsfw-ish/suggestive themes ahead!)

he traps you against the wall between both of his muscular arms, inching closer to your personal space so you wouldn’t have any chances of escaping. his usual spiky blond hair is down, droplets of water falling down and wetting him and yourself.

you involuntarily make yourself smaller than you already were with katsuki bakugo.

he looks like a predator taunting its helpless prey before they eventually feast on them. you see his lip tug upwards — a playful smirk. oh.

you want nothing more than to hide your face right now, and he’s out here having fun seeing you miserable.

“say it.”

he whispers near your ear, earning a shaky exhale from you when he lightly grazes his teeth on your earlobe.

refusing to succumb to his wish, you shake your head and placed your hands on his chest to push him away and create distance. your effort is futile though as he doesn’t even move from where he was standing.

curse his amazing sturdy ripped body. that tank top he’s wearing should be illegal.

“(y/n),”

he lets one of his hands wander agonizingly slow from your neck. your shoulder. on your arm. your waist. and then it stays still on the flat of your back. his gentle touches succeeds in making your body pliant for him. he hums in approval when he catches you staring at the way his mouth moved to say your name.

“i’m waiting.”

resisting becomes harder for you when he kneads softly at the area which his hand was on. he positions himself yet again closer to you until there’s no more space left in between you both. you could now feel his hot breath fanning your face more so than earlier. it begins to affect you, spreading the warmth he brings to your entire being.

“or would you rather let me force the words out of you?”

gulping harshly, you gathered the courage to gaze at his sharp dark crimson eyes (that’s already eyeing you so intensely you swear you can melt right there and then).

“k-katsuki,”

“yeah?”

you licked your bottom lip in nervousness. you see the way he huffs after your little action and how he pushes you more to him. gosh you really wish you could ignore the clear indication of katsuki’s want for you but it’s difficult when it’s obviously pressed up against you. and good lord it’s still as massive as ever. it’s embarassing how it starts making you rub your thighs together, excited for what it is that’ll soon happen.

you hate your body for betraying your goal to get out of this predicament you’ve found yourself in.

of course katsuki notices this — he always does from your reactions — and spares you the relentless teasing in favor of hearing you utter the words you ‘jokingly’ texted you said you’ll tell him in person. you should’ve known this explosive boyfriend of yours would do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

with your heart hammering loudly in your chest and your hands gripping tightly on his shirt, you shut your eyes and finally caved in.

“please make me your g-good little girl.”

you could only yelp in surprise when he suddenly hoists you up in the air, your legs and arms wrapping around his waist and neck for support. when you looked back down at him, katsuki’s red eyes were glowing with pure promise of chaos and mischief towards you. he sends you a deep chuckle with his gruff voice and runs his own tongue on his teeth, preening at the way you unconsciously let out a slight whimper.

“happy birthday to me.”

okay now please stop bothering my thoughts porcupine i feel bad for not posting anything on the april 20th *cries*

notes: he kinda has a panic attack in this so warning for that…but the ending is softandfluffy so hopefully that’ll make up for it. i hope you all enjoy and pls leave me some comments or send me requests i’d appreciate it ^_^ love u <3

this was before you and bakugo had started dating, when you were just close friends. you were best friends at the time and he’d often let you rant about anything that was bothering you, he didn’t always know what to say but he was a really good listener. sometimes if you’d get deep enough into your conversation some of his own problems would slip before he could catch himself. still he was pretty closed off no matter how much you tried to open up about your own problems, he just wouldn’t budge. you knew bakugo well, what made him lose his temper or what made him laugh; you knew no matter how hard he tried to hide it, he cared deeply about his friends. but you didn’t know much, or really anything at all, about his troubles or what he’d be like when all the built up tension finally came spilling out at once.

i just KNOW Bakugo’s the type of friend/boyfriend that just. will take no shit if youre neglecting your self care

my dude WILL shove u into the shower if you’re feeing bad and unmotivated-hell he’ll throw you in there fully clothed and turn the shower head on, and you’ll probably snap at him-ask him what the FUCK but he’ll just hand you the soap and say ‘you’re already in there. might as well get the job done’

and when you’re out of the shower, (reluctantly) cleaner and feeling more refreshed, he’ll have already prepped a light snack for you, probably kept it warm in the microwave right until he heard you turn the shower off, then threw it onto the living room table, pretending to be nonchalant-watching something dumb on TV

'had that shit laying around. eat it or it’ll just stay in the fridge and go bad’

he’s just. such a subtle fucker when it comes to taking care of you. and when you’re clean and fed and sleepily letting your head rest on his shoulder while you watch tv (one of your favorite shows-he says he just 'turned the tv on and it was there’)

only then will he smile, small and satisfied and wrap an arm around your back, scooping you up to take you to your bed so you can rest properly

Bakugo Katsuki. King of self care.

: ..

bakugo katsuki was a hardworking man. he worked his ass off to become number one, he did everything in his power to make japan as safe as he could and made sure that his daughter went to sleep knowing that her daddy was doing something good despite coming home late.

his agency was the best there was, housing heroes and sidekicks alike, all high in rank, and bakugo made damn sure that he be remembered.

so despite having the most top-of-line workers and most talented employees, bakugo katsuki did not expect to have somebody in the agency at 12:38 pm on a friday.

there was a lone light at the end of the agency, a computer keyboard clicking quickly as though it was normal this time of night.

he was alone as he trudged through the hallways, gauntlets heavy and clanking against his suit as he raised a tired eyebrow to see exactly which maniac was still in office.

and his eyes landed on you.

he’d seen you before, once, maybe twice, but he’d never really gotten the chance to know you all that well. he’s interviewed you once to be his assistant, and seeing that your family basically ran half the agencies in japan, he was quick to hire, not giving it much thought as you walked through the office a week ago. he was in desperate need of new assistants.

he watched for another second as you shuffled through some papers, your eyes drooping from obvious sleep deprivation as you stifled a yawn.

you rubbed your eyes, blinking each as you looked up, running a hand through your hair as you looked around the office, letting out the cutest yelp he’d ever heard when you saw him standing there.

“h-hello!” you gave a small, awkward wave, shuffling as you tried to clean up the mess that was your desk until you gave up seconds in, sighing as you shut your eyes, trying to revive yourself awake, “sorry sir, i’‘l just be um,” you bit the inside of your cheek as you winced at your clumsy tone, “i’m almost done,” you weren’t, and quite honestly you guessed your night was only starting.

bakugo gave a stiff nod and a tight-lipped smile as he walked away, your sighs of disappointment from your actions ringing in his ears and he tried not to smile, walking away as he got ready to pack up for the night.

his office was clean, yet he knew immediately when he walked in, that his desk was abnormally empty and his trash had been taken out when normally he did it himself at the end of the week.

he walked back out, looking at you through squinted eyes, trying to see if you could somehow telepathically tell what was going inside his head.

“d'you know what happened to my desk?” he asked, voice loud enough that you jumped in your seat, eyes wide in confusion as you looked over your computer to see what the hero meant.

“um,” you rubbed your forehead, trying to remember what he was referring to when you perked up, a grin on your face as you gathered a stack of papers from your desk, shuffling over as you proudly handed them over to him, “oh, here they are! i heard that you’re not a fan of, um, well, paperwork,” you sheepishly laughed as your fingers twirled with one another, “so i did them!” you tried to throw your hands up in the excitement but he still hadn’t taken the papers out of your grasp yet, hence causing them all the fall on the floor.

there was a beat of silence as you huffed out, a mix of once again embarrassment and tiredness on your part as you bent to pick them up, almost clanking heads with your boss as he gathered them up himself.

his eyes fell to your shoes, his annoyance quickly dissipating as he felt his lips tug upwards into a little grin as he noticed your slippers.

“nice shoes,” he commented gruffly, the green and black an obvious nod to his hero costume, and your cheeks heated up in embarrassment, stumbling to explain as he turned his back, walking back into his office as though he didn’t notice.

you sighed, rubbing your aching temple as you went back to your desk, fingers typing furiously again, as you somehow tried to beat the impending clock.

bakugo began packing his bag, a sigh of relief emitting from his chest as he realized the most dreaded part of his evening was done (the godawful paperwork they made him do after every mission) and you most likely had done it more correctly than he normally does, and he spared another glance out his office window towards you.

you were young, a couple years younger than him from what it seemed, but everybody seemed younger than him nowadays. even though he had his daughter early, he could tell that the gray hair and fine wrinkles were making way onto his face faster than most his age.

you peeked over your monitor, cheeks heating when you caught his stare, and stared at your screen, missing the little laugh that left his lips as he noted your skittish demeanor.

you took a drink out of your mug, and he squinted to see the picture on it, a soft smile gracing his rough face as he noticed it was a photo of you with your cat, a mug you probably had costume made yet made you look utterly adorable.

he went back to packing his bags, shedding off his hero costume as he looked around his cupboard for something more comfortable to change out of, and he glanced behind his shoulder to look at the clock only to once again catch your wide eyes staring at him.

he felt his body go red as you averted your gaze somewhere discreet, but it didn’t matter much because he already saw you, but he didn’t know why he was so flustered by it now when he was regularly okay with shedding his clothes to put on a sweatshirt.

it was his fraying nerves, he told himself, he was going insane.

so as he shrugged something on, filling up his bag with loose papers and folding up his costume that nestled inside comfortably, he looked around, glad his office was still clean as he stepped out.

he still could hear your keyboard typing even as he neared the office doors, so he stopped, looking behind himself as he called out.

“you should leave soon,” his voice was gruff as you glanced up at him, “it’s getting pretty late,” and it was as he checked his watch, reading a solid 1:00 a.m.

“huh? oh,” you glanced at the clock in surprise, “i’ll be out soon, maybe in like thirty minutes or so,” but as you looked at all the paperwork near you, you doubted that be the case.

his brows furrowed. 1:30? in the morning? he wasn’t dumb enough to know that even though this was the more pleasant side of town, 1:30 in the morning was not the best time to be out alone.

“how do you get home?” he asked, his hand holding onto his strap as he rested his weight on his left leg.

“i walk home!” you called back, hoping he could hear you in the large expanse of the office.

even better, he thought to himself, shaking his head as he walked closer towards you.

you watched as he neared, his footsteps resembling thumps as came to your desk.

“what'dya need to finish?” he asked, voice low yet different from how he normally was during the day as he glanced around your frenzied desk top.

“oh…” you trailed off, trying to think of what to say as he awaited your response, “not much, mister dynamite…” your voice trailed off in embarrassment as he cocked a brow at the name.

“come on,” he jutted his chin to all the papers, “what can i do?” and he wish he could just leave at the surprised look on your face, how your big eyes widened at his words.

“there’s no need! r-really!” and he almost would have believed if you didn’t yawn fifteen times in between those two sentences.

he grumbled to himself, dropping his bag off somewhere as he pulled in a chair so he could sit near the desk, taking a pile of paperwork into his hands so that he could see what he was dealing with despite your loud complaints of telling him you could do it yourself.

his brows scrunched together as he read the reports, confusion on his features as he flipped through the pages, looking at you as you waited for him to say something to break the awkward silence.

“these aren’t yours to do, y'know,” he said bluntly, through the papers back on the desk as he rubbed his eyes, fearful that he had actually hired an idiot as one of his assistants.

“i k-know!” you quickly said as you tidied them up, giving him a small smile as you pointed to the papers littering your desk, “i finished my work a couple hours ago, but yuma said that her daughter’s birthday was tomorrow and so she didn’t have time to finish them. a-and kei said that he was proposing to his girlfriend tonight so he didn’t have time either,” you explained, your face gentle in the bare light of the monitor, your features soft as bakugo felt his jaw tick.

“yuma doesn’t have a daughter,” he said, his voice thick as he watched your eyebrows scrunching together in confusion, “and kei’s girlfriend broke up with him two months ago so i have no fuckin’ clue who he’s gonna be proposing to.”

you took a second as you looked at your desk, deflating a bit as you let out a little laugh, “then i guess taichi doesn’t have a dog he has to take to the vet?” you watched as bakugo shook his head, “and riku doesn’t have a piano recital to go to tomorrow?” he shook his head no again as you chewed your lip, feeling stupid under the pressure of his stare boring into the side of your face.

“i’m not really gullible,” you muttered dejectedly, “if that’s what you’re thinking,” you glanced at him from the corner of your eyes as you let out a humorless laugh, “i just want the people here to like me, t-that’s all,” you gave yourself a sad smile as you jutted your chin to the little picture at the corner of your desk, a photo of your brother who bakugo was well aware of from his college years and your father standing side by side.

“they already think i got here because of my father, so,” you took in a shaky breath, “i just don’t want to be the office pariah my first week in, y'know?”

bakugo pressed his lips together into a thin line, already feeling guilty because he knew that was a leading factor that caused him to hire you.

“so, um,” you cleared your throat, rubbing your aching eyes as you gave him a tired smile, “i’ll just finish these last ones up and i’ll come back tomorrow to do the rest. have a good night mister dynamite,” you said as you gave him a small wave, ready to go back to your computer as he took the fat stack of papers to your right as he set them down on the desk in front of you.

“yuma can finish her shit on monday. so can kei,” you went to protest but he shot you a look and so you back down, not saying anything as he began returning the stacks of paper to their rightful owner, your desk getting significantly less busy.

“thank you,” you muttered as you gave him another smile, one that made him stop working for a second and made his heart run faster than any workout ever did.

he felt like a goddamn high school boy with the way he was reacting to your little expressions.

“mhm,” he hummed, going down to pick his bag, noticing how you were just standing up, stretching as you groaned, eyes shut as your bones oped and cracked, your face relaxing as you opened your eyes back again.

“come on,” he motioned, “i’ll drive ya’ home,” and you went to protest once again but he just shot you another glare that shut you up, “i wouldn’t be much of a hero if anything happened to you walking home. especially this late at night, okay?”

and so you nodded slowly, packing up your things as you quickly followed him out of the office, watching as he turned any remaining lights off and dug the key from his pocket, locking the door as you stepped out from behind him.

“where'dyou live?” he asked as he pressed the button to the elevation, walking in after your as he waited for you to yawn once again.

“downtown, near the um,” your eyes shut as you let out another yawn, “near the big park,”

you were vague but he knew where you were talking about, shaking his head as he realized just how far that was and somewhat relieved that he offered to drive you home.

“you can sleep at my place tonight,” he muttered, “i’m not drivin’ that far out,”

“i, sir, i don’t think,” you stuttered, shaking your head as you tried to think, “i really don’t want to invade-”

“you’re not invading, i’m inviting,” he said simply, stepping out after you as the elevator dinged open.

“but you have no room and i don’t really want to be a bother-”

“we have a guest room,” he said easily again, his ears going red at the little banter.

“but my clothes,” you tried again and he snorted.

“the guest room has guest clothes stocked up,” and you struggled to fight both him ad the exhaustion settling in your bones.

“but maybe your daughter-”

“will enjoy the guest,” he said as he opened the agency door for you to leave out of, “really,” he said, his hand gently on your back as he stopped you from falling down the concrete steps, “it’s no problem,” his breath fanned love your neck and despite your impending sleep your heated up at the proximity.

“sir, i really don’t want to cause any trouble for you or your family,” you said but he waved it off as he opened the passenger seat for you.

“you’re not causing us any trouble,” and said as you sheepishly stepped inside, “and call me katsuki, feel like i’ve known you long enough now,”

“um, well, katsuki,” he grinned at the way his name sounded coming from you, “are you sure? i really don’t want to cau-”

“i promise y/n,” the car revved to life as his one hand gripped the wheel, “really, think of it as company benefit.“

There was a sense of grief, hidden in that unspoken quietness.

In which two lost souls stared aimlessly at each other, fingers etching to hold on another, to have skin touch skin, just barely, until each other’s hearts were intertwined just as they weren’t meant to be, written in the by the strings of fate.

One sat up, one arm steadying his body as his duvet fell, revealing his marked-up chest, heavy with years of battle scars, the hand that lay atop it sliding off as he looked straight ahead.

Solemn eyes widen a bit, one foot taking you back as you step behind, hands nervously wringing together as you look up at the soldier who had brought you here, silently asking him why he thought that would be a good idea judging by the ring on his finger.

His lips moved in the shape of your name, hands shaking as he blinked once, twice, rubbing at his eyes as he glanced at the soldier behind you, slowly swinging one leg over the other as he rose from his bed, taking long strides until he came face to face with you.

In all your dreams and nightmares, you never imagined yourself in this position. There was a bit of embracement that came with it, knowing that you had finally given up, but what more could you do? They would have burned you once they found out you were dead.

But he seemed like he had seen a ghost. Face pale, eyes shining a brilliant red, swimming with various emotions as he took you in, the face of somebody he told himself repeatedly he’d never see again. Perhaps in another life, but never here. Not when he was alive and living with his title.

A gentle hand raised up, slow and delicate as it made contact with your face, a small sound of pain, perhaps regret, coming from his lips as your head dropped into his hold, eyes watery as you shut them, taking one step closer as his other hand was quick to bring you to his chest.

Was this a new paradise? Had he died during his sleep? He wouldn’t be opposed to it, not ever. If it was you that was truly in front of him, the woman who plagued his mind with every waking moment he lived.

“Katsuki?”

The two of you snapped away from each other at the voice, and it seemed as though he remembered just where he was, that the ring on his finger wasn’t just for show and that the woman in his bed wasn’t just another late night fuck.

“Is everything alright?”

And you looked worriedly over his shoulder at the woman that hurriedly put her robe on, fixing her long hair as she took padded steps to her fiance, a hand on his shoulder as she glanced at you.

“Do we have a visitor?”

Your lips pressed into a wobbly line, looking over to the soldier once more as he gave the two royals a grim stare.

You cleared your throat, giving her a small smile you hoped wouldn’t give your true feelings away as you shook your head, trying to smooth out the wrinkles in your old tunic as you gave them their well-respected bows.

“Your majesty,” You handed them a piece of paper, charred at the sides with burns, smelling of distant smoke as your house was so many ways away, “I have come asking for asylum.”

Beneath the star-scattered sky, the party flourishes with true delight and splendor.

Loud yells of excitement come from different people, women fanning their faces as the men lean in, listening intently to what they had to say, large smiles on their faces as they twirled around, the music growing some noises out as the violinists play in perfect harmony with their piano counterpart.

You watch happily from above, leaning over the stone railing as you’re cleverly concealed by a large bouquet of flowers, glad that you’re here and not in a ditch somewhere far away.

“Are ya’ not going?”

You glanced to the side, ducking your face down at the fact that you were caught, looking at the scene behind you as you let out a quiet sigh.

You were glad, however, that it was only Izuku. Out of all the knights of the seventh men, you were more than elated. It was the freckled green-haired man you had come to know over the past couple of months. Anybody else, and they might have kicked you out.

“Sorry for scarin’ ya,” He said sheepishly as he made his way towards you, almost testing the waters, but seeing that you were too distracted by the party below, you didn’t care all that much.

“It’s quite alright,” You answered, glancing at him for a second before you went back to looking down below.

“I can admire the view from up here,” You say, making some room for the man as he moves to stand beside you, “’S not so bad, you know,” It was true, really. It was deserted, but it was a sanctuary nobody seemed to realize was there.

“You’ll certainly be missed, then,” He said, more to himself, under his breath, and was almost glad you missed it with the roar of party-goers applauding Katsuki and Kō twirled around, his fiance’s magnificent dress shining a multitude of colors, illuminated perfectly by the candles that were perched on every wall.

You felt his shoulder gently bumping yours as you let out a soft breath, shyly glancing over as you assessed his uniform, noting that he had shed his usual chunky armor and had chosen to wear a more flexible and breathable piece of clothing.

“Are you not standing guard tonight?” You asked and watched as Izuku shook his head, fingers tracing the carved patterns of the rails as he looked down below.

“Denki and Kirishima are the ones on duty, thankfully,” He added, giving a melodramatic sigh as you giggled, noticing how his shoulders were still heavy from the weight they were used to carrying, how he seemed to grip the railing as if his feet would give way from beneath him.

He, along with many of his comrades, was spectacular at hiding his true exhaustion, you had come to learn over the past couple of months. They had ways to fight, families to protect, grounds they had to patrol, and they did an astonishing job at masking it all with a happy facade.

You didn’t say anything for a couple of minutes, the silence comfortable enough to allow you to search below for a particular shade of blonde, scanning, and scanning until you found it, twirling his lover around as she said something, and you watched as Katsuki leaned down, his lips brushing over her ear as he looked around, shaking his head as they continued to dance.

You didn’t know him well, and vice versa, but he had seen you around sometimes, had the pleasure of making conversation with you, and had been able to observe well enough to read the silent emotions that you did well of hiding from most people.

Looking away, you balanced your back on the railing, hands over your chest as you pouted, and Izuku had to control the urge to coo at just how cute you seemed to be when irritated.

“You really should go,” You spoke, and Izuku looked behind his shoulder at you, his eyebrow cocked as he waited for you to say more, “You just came back from the trenches, right?” You waited for his response, and he nodded slowly.

At that you laughed, truly, for the first time, enjoying just how lost he seemed to be when it came to human interaction that didn’t involve talks of battle.

“Then go enjoy yourself!” You gave his arm a slight nudge, but he stayed put, shaking his head as he bashfully looked into the crowd, hoping it would hide the embarrassing blush that overtook his cheeks.

“I’m not a fan of condensed masses,” He admitted, “Ya’ never know when something’s about to happen,” And you supposed that given his background, he probably wouldn’t be a fan out loud noises, either.

“Well,” You looked down at your shoes, “Thank you for joining me. It does get awfully quiet sometimes when it’s just me most of the time,” You gave him a small small, and he reciprocated it, waving you off as if it was nothing.

But it was more than nothing, to you. Ever since the night you had come asking for asylum, Katsuki was swift in giving it to you, no questions asked as he made the southern palace yours. Albeit, a little bit confused because you seemed intent on never speaking to him again the last time he had seen you.

Of course, people aside from him were curious as to who you were, wondering what you had done to convince their cruel king to quickly give you anything you asked for. The woman by his side, Kō, you had come to learn, the very one who had become the bane of your existence, felt more so threatened by the way her fiance seemed to drop anything he was doing to aid to your needs.

And you guess you should blame yourself for part of it. Instead of leaving the moment he gave you your freedom, you stayed. The beds seemed too warm and the food so well made that you caved, living in your imaginative land of bliss as he worked at your beck and call.

As word floated around the palace, more people seemed to take their to-be-queens side, looking down on you from their noses as you walked by, whispering things to one another as you ate quietly on the side, and had decided, almost indefinitely, that you were to be the concubine once Kō was made a true royal of the south.

So, given the fact that you knew how in demand Izuku seemed to be with the women down below, with just how many people wanted to talk to him at all times, and with the probability of being most likely aware of the negative buzz that surrounded you, you were grateful that he came and rid your mind of all your swarming thoughts, even if that wasn’t his initial intention.

“I’m happy to be here,” He said and you grinned to yourself, looking away to hide the certain giddiness that filled your little heart. How long had it been since somebody had been this kind towards you? You hated how your mind immediately went to the cave and Katsuki and his gentle hands.

You opened your mouth to say something, but your gaze focused on something behind him, shutting up when the figure got into view, heart beating rapidly, blood roaring to your cheeks as you saw him, his eyes focused on yours as he walked towards you, his crimson cape, the shade of shed blood, swayed behind him.

Izuku noticed your divert of attention, looking behind him as he instantly stood straighter, one fist curled over his heart, the other behind his back as he folded at the waist, the way knights were supposed to greet their kings.

“Your majesty,” He scrambled to find words to say, “Is there any way I can be of aid to you?” The expected reaction, but Katsuki waved it aside, flicking his hand away, and Izuku easily got the hint, giving him a swift nod as he walked away, peeking back at you as he gave you a tilted smile, his green hair fading from view as he walked down the spiral stairs that led to the party.

Once he was sure he was out of sight and earshot, Katsuki was swift in his movements, moving closer to you as he pulled your hand into his, nuzzling his face into your neck as he wrapped his arm around your waist, lips hovering over the skin of your jaw, not knowing the way it played little tricks on your mind, forcing you to forget just where you were and just who you happened to be.

“Did'ya not like the dress?” He pulled away, and you wholly abhorred the way your body moved in sync with his, with just how much you longed to be held by him, even though it was he who you laid awake at night because.

But you resisted the urge to pull him deeper into yourself, to smell his warm cologne, to feel his lips against yours, but you shook your head, taking a step back as you looked anywhere but him.

“The dress was most undoubtedly beautiful,” You admitted with a wrinkled nose, heat burning under your skin as he enclosed your hand in his, his searing lips finding purchase on your arm, planting little kisses as he trailed upwards, stopping just as your collarbone as you pulled away once more from him.

“Then why didn’t ya’ wear it?” He finally got the hint, moving away as he gave you some room, his decorated chest full of medals of honor and military recognizations, the same necklace you remembered him wearing many nights ago still hanging around his neck.

You looked at him as if he had gone mad, and you truly wondered if he had, if those nightshade berries he had eaten had messed with his way of thinking, but he seemed confused at your perplexed expression.

“What?” You scoffed at him for even asking that, for wondering like he had done nothing wrong, “Did'ya want another dress?

You squeezed your eyes shut, your lips pinched together as you shook uncontrollably, pain seizing you when you felt his calloused hands rest atop your cheek, just as they always seemed to do like they were tailored perfectly so that your face would fit perfectly in his hands.

"Go back to your wife, Katsuki,” You warned, pushing his hand roughly away, but he didn’t budge, resilience in his stance as his jaw ticked.

“She’s not my fuckin’ wife.” He snapped and you rolled your eyes, glancing at the engagement ring on his finger, and he heaved a heavy sigh, wringing it off as he pocketed it.

But he knew it was more than that. Knew that she was the person who put a rift between the two of you, and could only guess that it was salt in the wound when you returned to find her splayed over him as if she was the owner of his heart.

If only you knew just how much you had a grip on his reality, on his every waking moment, of the fact that every second he was alive he was worried about you, discreetly glad that he could worry about you, that you were here in the flesh and he could hold you just as he longed to do.

“Why her?” The words barely made it out as you choked on them, the question that weighed on your mind ever since you had seen her that night, wondering what he had to be thinking to go back to the woman that left him for his rival only to come wailing back when even he didn’t want her.

And he didn’t know what to say. Why her? He truly didn’t know. Was it because she was so beautiful he couldn’t resist it when she pounded on his chest, crying as she begged to be accepted back to the life she threw away? Was it because in those scarce moments he could see the old girl she used to be?

But how could he say that he imagined it was you every moment he was with her? How could that be fair to you if you heard he only imagined, but never cared enough to actually go to you, to apologize, to be with you once more?

So as the party below continued with endless dancing, as his fiance looked around aimlessly for where her partner was to no avail, he could only pull you into his chest, his hand running up and back the slope of your back as he rested his chin atop your head.

He was a fool, but even he was going towards the point of no return if he continued going on like this.

With every nasty side-eye you got, you decided it is best to stay away from the majority of people and venture out when it got closer and closer to nighttime.

You tried to find work outside the palace, but it seemed that word of you even trickled down to the common folks, how somebody was lurking around the halls waiting to pray upon their king, so no matter how much you pleaded and told them you meant no harm, they slammed the door on your face once they realized who you were.

You strayed far away from Katsuki, though it was a rather difficult task seeing that this was his home and he had the liberty to go wherever he pleased.

But despite all that, you were rather good at avoiding him, hiding behind corners when he passed by or pretending to be asleep whenever he came knocking in the dead of night.

Deep down, you truly longed to see him.

To be where you were a year ago, where it was just the two of you in that cave, where he helped you pick your berries and hunt your fish and the days blend into each one another. It was a peaceful time, although it didn’t seem so long ago.

And in all honesty, you swore to never go looking for him again, really, you did. But then the fires started to burn, most likely set aflame from the north in retaliation to the east, and everything around you began to burn, and you had to run before they found you alive.

Your situation could have been worse, you try to tell yourself, you could be starving and without a place to sleep, this wasn’t the worse it could have turned out to be.

But you never expected to come back to him and that girl, the very one he’d talk in his sleep about and the very one who tore your heart to pieces when he whispered her name when he held you close to him.

So, you stayed away. It was the least you could do from splitting your mind apart in frustration whenever you saw him walking around.

And, you preferred to stay awake regardless. It reminded you of your days back in the forest, when you stayed up to see the stars, the occasional shooting one flying through the onyx sky as you watched them form into your own constellations that you had named for yourself.

The garden, despite its marvelous size, was never fully appreciated, let alone the time you visited it. You weren’t aware there were so many different types and shapes and smells of flowers before, and you took your time as you ducked your face into the endless array of bushes, catching a big whiff of them as you leisurely stroll through, fingers hovering over their leaves as you burned them into your memory.

“D'ya always like to hide in difficult-to-find places?”

You jumped at the voice, whipping around as your erratic heart stopped its frenzied thumping, placing a hand over your chest as you settled slightly, seeing that it was only Izuku and he seemed rather guilty for scaring you for the second time.

“I wouldn’t say this is the most difficult place to hide,” You taunted and he rubbed the back of his neck, grinning as he looked around, noticing that you had strayed far from the palace, almost nearing the large meadows that separated it from the rest of the world.

“Though it certainly isn’t the least concealed, either,” He joked and you laughed softly, a gentle twinkling sound as you began your pacing around, feeling a little bit safer now that he was here.

“I like these flowers,” You stated, gnawing on your lips as you touched a violet one, shining brilliantly in the moonlight, “And unfortunately this is the only time I can admire them.” You looked back at him as you winked, going back to your flowers quickly enough to miss the way his face blushed red.

“Do ya’ sleep durin’ the day?” He questioned gently as he began walking behind you, respectful as he gave you some space between your bodies, his hands behind his back as he looked at the wide exhibition of bushes.

You shook your head, shrugging as your fingers grazed over the delicate petals, careful not to drag them down and potentially ruin them.

“I just prefer being by myself,” You said, but quickly added, “Most of the time.” When you noticed him looking worried as if he had barged in.

“I hope I’m an exception?” His eyes shined a brilliant green, darker than the stems of the flowers in front of you, but likewise an emerald color as it caught in the light of the moon.

You almost got lost in them, forgetting to answer as you stuttered, glancing at the roses in front of you as you quickly nodded.

“Of course, you’re always an exception.” You stopped walking, giving him a teasing grin, now noticing just how much he towered over you as you both paused.

The stillness came back, but you welcomed it. The cicadas that chirped to the breeze that came in and played with your little wisps of hair, it was a gentle night.

“How’s the palace treatin’ ya’?” Izuku glanced at you from the corner of his eyes, a hint of worry lacing through his tone. He had sent the way you refused to anywhere where most people seemed to be.

“Better than it should be,” You cheekily divulged, but there was something more in your voice, a hint of gloom that he was able to pick up on.

“Ya’ sure?” He hoped he wasn’t pressing too hard, losing you when you had just started getting comfortable with him.

You gave a stiff nod, crossing your arms over your nightgown as you shrugged again, waving it all aside as if it was of no worry, nothing to fret for him.

“Most indefinitely,” You said, your voice joking, and a part of him relaxed hearing it.

You looked at his scarred hands, noticing a small ring that adorned his fourth finger.

“Do you have somebody waitin’ for you?” You jutted your chin to his hand and he followed its movement, quick to shake his head as he hid his hand behind his back.

“No! Uh, no, actually,” He gave an awkward laugh, “I used to have somebody waitin’, but,” He trailed off, and you could pick up on his obvious discomfort about the subject.

“Sorry for asking,” You said, slightly ashamed for butting in on his personal life, but he immediately perked up, upset in his eyes as he waved your nervousness aside.

“It’s nothing! Promise,” He chuckled, something deep and throaty, a sound that you had never heard before but was certain in setting a part of you to ignite, “No harsh feelings.” He wanted to kick himself for just how inelegant he made any and every situation he seemed to be in with you.

But to his surprise, you laughed, throwing your head back as you poked his side, your finger barely making a dent in his armor, but you still did it anyway.

“For a knight, you seem awfully friendly,” You were now looking up at him, eyes full of novelty and inquisitiveness.

Gods, he wondered to himself, this must be why his king was so enamored by you.

“I take that as a good thing, hopefully?” You nodded, giving him a kind smile as you looked back to the grand palace behind him, to the way the stars twinkled so brightly, and gave out a slight yawn, rubbing your eyes as you made your way back in.

“More than a good thing,” You assured him as he followed you back, his clanky armor making you giggle as he sighed in annoyance, something he had to, unfortunately, deal with on a regular basis.

As you neared the grand doors that lead to the courtyard, you realized that this is where you parted ways, as Izuku had to rotate to the back now as he shifted his routine with the men over there.

You cleared your throat, looking back as you glanced over to him, giving his uncovered hand a small squeeze as you grinned.

“Thank you for sparing a bit of time for me,” You balance your weight on the balls of your feet, having to crane your neck a little to truly see him.

He waved his arm, rubbing at his undercut as he shrugged bashfully, glimpsing at you from under his long lashes and he gave you an extensive and friendly smile.

“Anything’ for ya’, m'lady,” And you didn’t have time to notice as he brought your hands to his lips, giving it a tiny kiss as he winked, waking away as he meets with his other friends, earning some suspicious glances as they looked at you and then to him.

You rubbed your skin where his lips last were, and though you wanted so deeply to feel giddy at the gesture, all you could do was look at the palace, at the large balcony that extended into the king’s quarters, and wish he were someone else that placed the kiss there.

Three thumps that sounded from behind your door startled you awake.

You glanced at the clock, the two hands telling you that it was too early in the morning, far too early for anybody other than the servants and knights to be awake, and as you groggily rubbed at your eyes, tiredly making your way to the door as you cracked it open to check what was happening, you gasped.

To your surprise, there was an abnormal amount of guards, some running, others shouting to each other, maids screaming as they ran down the stairs, and as you went out to see more of what was happening, two large hands pushed you roughly back into your room.

Looking up you were met with two eyes, shining a bright vermillion as his chest heaved up and down, raking over you as he assessed your features, clearly not thinking anything unusual of his sudden intrusion.

“What the fuck is happening? Katsuki, what..” You watched as he awkwardly shuffled next to you, slamming his palm over the door, pressing the side of his face to it as listened, content with what he heard as he left, locking it instantly.

“Hurry. Don’t speak.” He warned, holding a finger to his lips to shush your frantic rambling.

He went to the corner of your room, opening up the small wardrobe that stood in the corner, feeling for something as you heard a small click, and he pointed to it, the backing behind it slamming open as you walked slowly towards it, quickly looking back to the door when you heard loud yelling, and Katsuki was quick to grab you, pushing you inside as he followed in behind you.

The doors to the wardrobe closed as he followed in behind you, the door to the hidden alcove shutting in unison as you squeezed inside.

“What is happening? Katsuki-”

“Raid. Northern rebels.” Is all he gave as an expansion as he pushed you in deeper, a small little room coming into view the more you ventured.

You felt your heart stop at his words. Undoubtedly he had to be jesting for cruel amusement.

It was them who burnt the forest down, ruined your life, and you wanted to gauge their eyes out that now they had decided to set flame to the utopia you were just beginning to build up again.

“Wh-what?” You looked behind you but he shielded your eyes as he pushed you into the opening, a little mattress situated in one corner, cans of food in the other, and he quickly got to work in shutting the door that led into the tiny room.

Despite it being closed off from virtually everything, there was a surprising amount of airflow, so much so that you shivered, your thin nightgown doing nothing to protect you from the icy wind.

“Katsuki!” You shouted, gripping his arm as he turned around, and he paused his movement, slowing down as he glanced over at you, waiting for you to speak again.

“Where are we?” Is all you could say, still looking around despite not having much to look for.

“Bunker,” He grunted, “The only way to get out is from the inside. Safe as shit,” He muttered, looking everywhere as if this had been his first time in this. Maybe it was.

You stuttered, eyebrows drawing together in bewilderment as you touched the cold stone walls that surrounded you.

“Has,” You sighed, shaking your head in confusion, “Has this always been here?” You almost wanted to look somewhere else for how ridiculous the question sounded.

It had been weeks since you had actually seen him like this, so close, and talked to him for so long, but it felt like it used to, and had you not been in such a situation you almost would have smiled fondly at the old memories that flooded through you.

“F'course,” He murmured, situating himself on the old mattress as he leaned his back against the cold wall, “Gave ya’ one of the safest rooms we have,” He groaned again, this time louder and sounded to be of more distress.

You scrunch your nose up at the smell, rubbing your tired eyes as you look back at the sealed door.

“How bad is it?” The question came out in a whisper.

How was Izuku? You shuddered at the thought. He had to be fine, you knew he could carry himself well.

Katsuki shrugged, but he lamented at that too, and you sighed as you began walking over to where he sat as you glanced over his shaking form.

“They’re holdin’ ‘em off from last I saw,” He noticed your worry, “Izuku’s on the upper level, he’s fine,” Your cheeks heated when you realized he had picked up on your budding relationship with the soldier, but it quickly vanished when he groaned again, “And-fuck,” He scratched at his clothing, “Help me get this off…” He could barely finish his sentence as he hit his head against the wall with a thud.

“I,” You stammered, “I don’t-” He cut you off, shaking his head as he could already tell what you were thinking.

“’S not what'ya think,” His fists clenched, “Just help me get this coat off,” His words slurred together and you dropped to your knees, grasping at his shoulder to hold him up, but reeled your hand back in horror when you saw that it was coated in a thick layer of blood.

“Katsu, what..” You quickly began unbuttoning his suit, your hands fumbling as they flew together, shrugging it off, the material almost sticking to his skin with the blood that glued it together.

You peeled his coat and white tunic, now stained red, off, some relief flooding your senses as you realized the cut wasn’t as shallow as it seemed to be from the outside, and it was only near his shoulder, so you should be able to clean it up with not too much difficulty.

“There should be an aid kit near the can,” He pointed to the other corner and you quickly shuffled to your feet, sifting through the cans as you found the red metallic box, running over to him as you found some gauze and alcohol in its little compartments.

You had to admit it had been a while since you had actually used any of these things, as the forest could only offer so much for medical assistance. But you recall once long ago how your brother used alcohol to clean a minor cut of his with just patting it on, so you prayed you remembered how to do it in the correct manner.

You quickly patted it only, reeling back when he breathed harshly through his teeth, eyes wringing shut as he banged a closed fist on his thigh.

“W-what did I do? Are you okay?” You worriedly looked at his paling face but he bit his lip, shaking his head as he motioned for you to continue.

“Stings,” He muttered and you gnawed on your thumb, looking back on his wound as you patted the alcohol on some cotton pads you found near the gauze, no slow and careful in your movements as you dabbed it on.

Once you were sure it was as clean as you could get it, you raised his arm as best as you could with his help as you wrapped it in the flimsy material, doing it several times to make sure it was safe and secure.

His breathing evened out and he eventually cracked an eye open, another one after that he relaxed his legs on the ground, his shoulder covered in white as he rested it carefully on the stone wall behind him.

You glanced at your hands, seeing that they were still covered in red and you shuddered, whipping them on the ground, anywhere but yourself as you controlled the urge to gag.

You truly hated the sight of blood.

“Caught the backhand of a sword,” He explained, “Sorry for always pushin’ this shit on ya’,” He grumbled through his lips, peeking over at you, noting your slight queasiness, then looking over you as he made sure everything was intact, “Yer not hurt, are ya?”

You slowly shook your head, walking away as your bare feet thudded against the floor, looking over at your corner as you sat down, trying to shut him out of sight.

Katsuki watched you intently, now fully awake as you snuggled deeply into yourself, curling into your body as you shivered, refusing to look him in the eye as you tried your best to sleep.

“I can move over if ya’ want,” He declared quietly, as if not to disturb you if you were already asleep.

You weren’t, but you ducked your head deeper into your chest, pretending that you were.

Your eyes snapped wide open, but this time it wasn’t from loud noise or a nightmare,

It was because you couldn’t sleep a couple of minutes before having to move without feeling your tailbone crush under the rough texture of the floor.

You grumbled something, not realizing that you had awoken Katsuki in the process.

Though you guessed it was most likely sometime during the day, thanks to the lack of lighting, you could barely see anything, but you could make out a rough shadow as it came closer and closer to you.

In your state of tiredness, you could barely argue as he wrapped an arm under your knees, one behind your back as he effortlessly picked you up, acting as if he was never hurt, to begin with.

“Katsu, stop,” You whined and he snorted at your weak attempt at pushing him away, your hand just falling weakly on his chest as you subconsciously nestled deeper into his warmth.

“Yer shiverin’ like a fuckin’ leaf,” He grumbled out and you pouted in your groggy state, feeling a gentle drop as he set you on the mattress, not sensing just how much you longed to be held by him as you climbed away from his hold.

He paused, different questions he had been longing to ask you since the moment he saw your face resurfaced in his mind, but only one made its way through.

“Why’d ya’ come back?” He whispered a voice lost to the night as your eyes lay wide open staring at nothing as you asked yourself the same thing.

“I don’t know,” You admitted truthfully as you shut your eyes.

Katsuki watched your back to his fall with gentle breaths, and he smiled gently, trying his best to fall asleep as your little puffs of air rocked him to sleep.

You don’t remember how it came to be, but you felt a gentle hand running up and down your neck, fingertips barely there as they carefully hovered over your skin, but you couldn’t really be one to point fingers as you felt yourself sleeping deep into the comfort of his chest.

Looking up you saw that his eyes were closed and he was most likely asleep and subconsciously doing this, so you pulled carefully away, only to realize that he had an iron grip and refused to let you go.

“Katsuki,” You whispered, poking gently at his good shoulder, “Wake up, come on,” And it felt just as though you were back in that cave, waking up in his arms as his eyes slowly opened, his hand stopping as he pulled away.

He groaned as he sat up, rubbing a hand down his face as he gave a loud yawn, peeking at the door, contemplating deep on his train of thoughts.

“Mornin’,” He said with another yawn, though you even doubted it was near the actual time.

“Morning,” You greeted, stomach rumbling as you gradually moved toward the tower of canned goods, sifting through them until you found some fish you guessed would satiate your hunger as you came back, giving a slight tug on the top as it opened up.

It smelled fine, great, even, and you held it out to Katsuki as you picked one out, eating slowly to make sure it tasted alright.

“Ya’ got a thing for fish of somethin’?” He asked as he nibbled on it, looking at you from the corner of his eyes as you laughed peacefully, shrugging as you pulled out another one.

“Are you gonna’ complain?” You watched as he quickly shook his head, going back for another one as you snorted softly.

The two of you ate in silence, an uncomfortable feeling washing over you as you looked intently at the door.

“Where’s Kō?” It was a question you had to ask, not because you wanted to ruin everything or because you were nosy, simply because he was his to-be-wife and you truly wondered where she was, if not the safest place in the palace.

You glanced over at him, watched as his jaw ticked, red eyes swimming with fury as he glimpsed down at his lap.

“In another bunker with her maids,” He explained, not looking up as you scooted closer to him, your shoulders almost touching as you turned the can over to him once again.

“Then why were you here?” His eyes skirted up to yours, searching for what your true intentions were, only to be met with the curiosity and kindness he had fallen in love with, his heart beating erratically in the limited space of his chest, coming short on air as your lips puckered into a little pout, waiting for him to answer.

“Was wakin’ around and happened to be here,” He lied to his teeth and you rolled your eyes at how obvious it was.

“Ya’ sure that’s the truth?” You poked his left arm and he gave in easily, picking out another fish slowly as he chewed for a couple of seconds.

“Came to make sure you were okay,” He conceded, not meeting your glare as you hastily set the can of fish aside, astonished at his admission.

“Katsuki,” You dropped your hands, going to close around his as you squeezed them tightly, “You have to stop, what about Kō? She’s your fuckin’ fiance! This isn’t-” He cut you off, writing his hands out as he stood up, blonde hair looking crazed as ran a hand through it.

“Isn’t what, huh? Good? Healthy? Gonna’ tell me what is better? That now I gotta know that you’re alive 'n healthy and yer here and I can’t do a fuckin’ think about it?” His red eyes bored into yours, full of an emotion you had never seen, his chest heavy as pain seared in his left shoulder.

You slowly stood up, walking carefully towards him as you placed a soothing hand on his bandage, trying to get him to stop from potentially hurting himself even more.

“Katsuki, please, sit down,” He gripped onto your hands, not roughly by any means, but holding them as if they were his lifeline, his anchor between reality and fiction. His were much larger and easily enveloped yours as he took a step forward, closing the gap that was between the two of you.

“STOP,” He snapped, fury traveling all through his body as he seethed, “Stop pretending like you bein’ here is normal. For months I see ya’ walking around, actin’ like nothin’ ever happened. A-and I know, I know I fucked it up, I know that, but Y/n…” He trailed off, choking as he pressed his fist to his lips to keep them from trembling, taking advantage of your silence to continue.

“I came lookin’ for ya’,” He said, staring at the ground, “Took a couple of my men and went to the forest. Knew it all by heart,” He gave an expressionless laugh, “And ya’ know what I saw?” He finally looked up at you, eyes filled with tears, fat tears that fell down the slope of his face as they splattered on the floor.

You could barely shake your head, let alone speak, as you stared at him, eyes wide, innocent hands trying to reach out for him as he controlled a sob.

“All of it,” He motioned with a hand as if it was right there, “Burned to the fuckin’ ground. None of the trees were left, creek was all dried up. N’ you were nowhere. Not in your fuckin’ cave, or in any of the towns, no-fuckin-where,” His voice jolted again, breath lodged up in his throat as he looked directly at you, “Do ya’ k-know,” His voice shook with heavy emotions, “D'ya know what I thought when I saw that shit? Though you were fuckin’ dead. Never thought I’d see your face again,” He bits the inside on his cheek, looking away in shame, a twinge of embracement as you slowly made your way towards him, not fast enough as he resumed.

“Then I wake up one night to knock on my door and yer there. Breathin’ and smilin’ and made me think I had finally made my peace with whatever fuckin’ god there is up there. That finally I could have ya’ all to myself again. Gods, Y/n, d'ya have any idea how fuckin’ happy I was? Felt like I could carry the world on my shoulders and you in my hands if ya’ asked me to. Hell, I’d do anythin’ you ask my t'do…” He trailed off, rambling more to himself as you dropped your hands to his shaking ones, weaving your fingers through them as you brought another careful one to his cheek, directing his face back towards yours as your lips wobbled in unison with his.

“Did you really come back?” You whispered, words sticking on your tongue, barely passing out as a proper sentence, but Katsuki understood, nodding in your hands, leaning into them as he gave a small kiss to your palm.

“I’ll always come back for ya’, Y/n,” His words carried themselves around you, working as a magnet as you felt your lips crashing onto his, searing as he was quick to pull you into his body, one large hand on the purchase of your back, the other behind your neck as his lips moved in furious tandem against yours.

Unlike the last time, it wasn’t hot or swift, you felt as his lips moved slowly against yours, savoring their taste as his tongue slipped in, his hands warm against your body as he pulled you into his chest.

There was longing and pain, full of desire and heartbreak, and you felt your eyes water up, tears slipping down your cheeks as they fell into your lips, their salty taste flooding into your mouths.

Katsuki instantly pulled away, looking over your face to see if he had hurt you, had gone too far, but your head fell on his shoulder, hiding all your emotions from view.

“Darlin’,” He started, a steady hand on your back, not realizing just how much it felt like an anchor you so desperately needed, “What’s wrong, huh? Ya’ hurt? Want me to stop?” His calloused fingers lifted your chin up, cooing quietly as his thumb wipe those tear marks away, eyes the color of rubies picked deep from the earth’s surface shining with a newfound dread as they bored into yours.

You slowly shook your head, lips wobbling as your hands snaked around his back, squeezing him, hoping he’d never let go.

“It’s been so long,” You whimpered, voice shaking as some more tears fell, “So long,” And he couldn’t ask for what because it had been so long since you were held like this, looked at like you mattered, kissed as if you meant to be loved, so long since you felt whole again that you didn’t know what to do.

“Oh, darlin’,” He pleaded, pulling back as he kissed your cheeks, your nose, the corners of your eyes as he gave you a gentle smile, “Stop yer cryin’, yeah? Hate seein’ that pretty face of yours all miserable like this,” He gave your thighs a small squeeze and you gave a wet laugh, pulling him closer to you as you nestled your head into the crook of his neck.

“I missed you so much,” You said against his skin, sending shivers down his spine, “Was so lonely without you,” You muttered as you pressed little kisses along his collarbone, trailing up as they turned needy, sucking on his neck as he let out a guttural groan.

“Shit, Y/n, yer gonna leave a mark,” He could barely speak, lips caught between his teeth as you looked up with that innocent gaze, bottom lip smeared in spit as you pouted, pressing another kiss near his lips as you tugged on his fingers.

“But I want to,” You whined slightly, “Wanna mark your neck up so fuckin’ much that Kō knows you’re mine,” His eyes were blown out, pupils enlargened as he let out a soft moan, his hand rough as they pushed you roughly into him, lips attacking yours as you moaned into his mouth.

“Yer just a bitch in heat aren’tcha?” His hands slipped under your nightgown as he tugged on your nipple, twisting it as you whined, head falling down as you panted, “Some fuckin’ attention and you turn into a moanin’ mess?” He easily slipped the rest of the tunic off, licking and tugging on your nipples with his teeth as tears made their way into your eyes.

“Katsu, please, just” You let out a breathy moan, “J-just fuck me already,” You pleaded, guiding his hand down south as he smirked, palming your pussy as your head fell onto his bandaged shoulder.

“You fuckin’ whine so much,” He muttered, a hand slipping into your pants, another two fingers forcing their way into your mouth as you chocked around them, the pads pressing down on your tongue as spit formed around your lips.

He watched in awe as he roughly pulled your underwear aside, eyes wide at the way you dripped down messily on your thighs, your glistening essence shining brightly on his fingers as he gently hovered a finger over your dripping hole.

“Ya’ always gotta make a mess for me, yeah?” He could barely contain his own moans as he plunged a finger in, almost forgetting at how well you sucked him in, the way he had to control himself from plowing into you the second he started pumping his fingers in and out.

You were a whining mess on his thighs, letting yourself be ravaged by the man beneath you, mouth falling open in a silent scream as his other hand, wet with your spit, traveled down to rub furious circles on your clit, only adding to the tightening sensation you felt in your tummy.

As he quickens his movements you almost scream at the way you see white, eyes closing tightly as your release comes quickly, coming all over his fingers as your chest heaved, making even more of a mess of his pants and your thighs.

You saw through blurry vision as he slowly pulled out of your folds, licking you off his fingers as he moaned at the taste, his forehead lining with sweat and arousal as he watched you panting on tip of him.

“Katsu, lemme,” You went for his zippers, pulling them down weakly as you tried to recover from your orgasm, but he gingerly gripped your wrist, giving you a small peck on the lips as he put a hand over your knees, one behind your back as he carried you back to the mattress.

“Nah darlin’, today’s your day, we’ll do that another time,” He promised, kissing away your tears as you whined as your back hit soft material, squirming around as you watched him take his pants off, tugging his underwear down as quickly as he could as his cock sprang out, hitting his stomach as you whined at the sight.

He watched as you parted your thighs, your arousal dripping down as you pleaded for him to come closer, trying to grab his dick with your little hands, but he could barely think straight as he crawled atop you, pressing tiny kisses on your lips, letting you taste yourself on him as he parted your legs more with his knees.

Shit, yer so fuckin’ gorgeous,” He muttered to himself, eyes rolling back as your dainty hands worked up and down his shafted, tugging slightly on the tip, pressing your thumb on it as you smeared his precum around, “Fuck, just like that darlin’, shit,” He panted, and almost wanted to cry as he pulled you away, knowing that this was a mean for his atonement, he had to show you just how much he cared.

He could barely hear through the blood roaring in his ears as he aligned himself with your abused hole, and the two of you let out moans in unison as he slowly sank in, bit by bit, your pussy sucking him in deeper as he placed two hands on your hips to steady himself.

“Katsuki…please…more,” You whined, head lolling to the side, tongue slipping out as your eyes rolled to the back, the stretch painful but you loved it, loved the way his veins felt as they dragged against your tight walls.

“Darlin’, stop, shit, yer so fuckin’ tight,” He bottomed out, holding the position for a couple of seconds as he let your get adjusted to his length, knowing this was the first time you had ever felt something like this before.

You cracked an eye open, looking at him as he shuddered, his hands finding yours as they intertwined, his other hand groping your tits as he pulled out slowly, just enough to slam back down into you, making you scream as he continued to pound into your tiny hole.

“Katsu, yes! Please, faster…ugh…” Your toes curled at the way he refused to stop, at how the tip almost hit your cervix, at how the little hairs at his base tickled your clit, making you gush even more around him, sucking him deeper into your velveteen walls.

“Gonna be addicted to this shit, fuck Y/n, yer amazin’,” His hips slammed at a rhythm, your tits jiggiling with his every move as he continued to fuck you as roughly as he could, and you knew that even know he was controlling himself from going all out on your virgin pussy.

His hand slipped down to your clit as he began to rub little circles on it, his finger quickening in pace as he felt himself getting closer and closer, his thighs tensing up as he felt himself about to come, your moans telling him that you were close too.

It only took another couple of seconds of more rubbing until you gushed all around his length, his pink tip shining brightly in the little light the room offered as he pulled out, cumming all over your stomach and tits as he let out a guttural groan, falling on his elbows as he gazed up at your fucked out expression.

“Yer so fuckin’ sexy darlin’, did amazin’ for yer first time,” He said, a comforting hand on your face as he raked his hands through your hair, kissing your forehead gently as he let his lips blend with yours once more.

You whined as he pulled away, a string of saliva connecting your lips as he sat back upon his knees, looking back at your chest as you watched a guilty expression fall over his face.

“M gonna go look for a towel really quickly, alright darlin’? I know there should be some water canteens with the food, can you stay put while I do that?” He searched your tired eyes, falling back to your aching hole as you nodded limply, curling in on yourself as you felt sleep washing over you.

It felt as though you had only blinked and he was back, just as he promised, wetting a small rag he found with water, slowly moving your body as he dabbed gently at the skin or your stomach, your breasts, cleaning up any residue he left on you.

You watched through half-lidded eyes as he carefully brought the towel to your pussy, cleaning away, careful not to make it more sensitive as it already was, pressing a small kiss to your tummy as he looked up, giving you a small smile as you gave him a lazy one.

“Ya look so cute right now, hope ya’ know that,” He muttered finding your tunic as he unfolded it from its wrinkled position, carefully moving your back up with his steady hand as he put it back on you.

“You’re pretty, too,” You mumbled and he gave you a playful grin, pinching your cheeks as you groaned, rolling into his warmth as he chuckled, careful not to disturb you as he cleaned himself off, throwing the rag aside as you fell into a deep sleep right on his chest.

He looked down at you adoringly, as if you had pinned the moon and the stars and let the world spin sound with just a swipe of your fingers. He loved the way your skin felt against his, the way you moaned when his hands brushed against your well-spent thighs, at the way your brows furrowed in your dreams. He loved how you fit so perfectly into him as if the two of you had been molded from the same piece of clay and were finally back where you two meant to be.

But most of all he loved how you held onto him as if he was your lifeline, not the other way around. And as he himself nodded off to sleep, he wondered if this is what the gods were doing to pay him back for all his sins.

The two of you groggily awoke to loud slams reverberating off the door.

Katsuki quickly snapped up, pushing you behind him as he blocked you with his body, standing to his feet in an instant as he inched closer, inspecting the sound.

Another one came, but you were too tired and delirious to even realize you were awake and not dreaming.

“Katsu,” You yawned, rubbing your eyes, “Is everything okay?” You peeked around his large frame, jumping slightly when you heard the loud boom, now fully awake as you shakily stood up on your legs, not knowing just how much of a daunting task it’d be after last night’s activities.

Katsuki whipped around to you, quickly putting an arm around you as he hoisted you up, worry on his features as his attention jumped between you and the door.

“Ya feelin’ alright?” He asked, his thumb rubbing small shapes into your waist, and you cheekily grinned, nodding as you winked at him.

“Never better,” And he had the audacity to blush, acting as if he wasn’t the root cause for your trouble of standing up.

He went to say something again when the loud booming sound came back, this time, the two of you were fully awake and fully aware of where it was coming from.

Three bangs came and then stopped.

Katsuki watched intently as another set of knocking came, until he gently set back on the mattress, kissing your hair as he slowly walked to the door, raising his fist as it hovered over the metal framework, contemplating for a second until his fist came down, one knock ringing through the tiny room.

The two of you waited until two more knocks came.

Katsuki knocked another three times, eyebrows drawn as he gnawed on his lips, debating on whether or not he should act on his instincts.

He didn’t give it much after though as his nimble fingers got to work, undoing the locks, the door groaning as it got released from its tension, swinging wide open as it revealed two shadowy figures.

You backed into the wall, squinting as you tried to make them out, your chest flooding with relief when you saw his face grow in size, his freckled cheeks, and bouncy green curls coming in, followed by a wash of red as the second man embraced Katsuki in a tight hug.

Izuku smiled widely, quickly rushing over to you as he helped you up, and you were grateful he was such a dotting person because you didn’t know how to explain it to them that your legs didn’t seem to work correctly anymore.

You watched as Katsuki and Kirishima talked in hushed voices, his red eyes sometimes ending yours as Izuku checked for any injuries, and you could tell that even though he was supposed to put up a rough persona, even he seemed to be happy to hear that the news of fighting was over.

“Ya’ always hide in difficult-to-find places, don’tcha?” Your head snapped over to Izuku and his teasing tone, giving him a wavering grin as you shrugged, feeling his hands stop their examining as his worried eyes searched yours.

“This isn’t the most difficult place to hide, you know,” You joked, shoving his arm playfully as he snorted, rolling his eyes as he saw that you were perfectly fine and that the bruises littering your hips and neck weren’t from what he initially thought they were. If only you could feel the way his heart stopped when he finally understood where they came from, with one glance to his king and his cocky grin and then back to you.

“Well,” He rubbed the back of his hair, tugging on his curls as he wished he could just rip them out, “Can’t say this was the easiest to find, either,” Your doe eyes crinkled around the edges, laughing softly as he recited the words, and if only he could just stop the shooting pain that traveled through every nerve in his body.

“Listen, Y/n…” He trailed off, instantly shutting up when he watched Katsuki usher you to the side, and you gave him an apologetic smile as you quickly promised you’d come back to hear what he had to say.

“What about Kō? And the others?” You whispered as you neared him, glancing worriedly at Kirishima and what he could think of his king’s reaction.

“She left,” He snorted, not bitterly, a sense of peace washing over him, “With the rebels. Probably goin’ back to the half-n-half bastard,” Your eyes widened at the words, understanding that this was part of what Kirishima had briefed him on.

“The others?’ Katsu, I’m not of royal blood o-or anythin’ fancy, your people are gonna look down-” He stopped you instantly, kissing your palms as he closed it around his fist, shrugging as he pulled your deeper into the tunnel that led you out.

“Don’t give a fuck about them darlin’, just want you,” He said into your hair as he kissed your head, leading the way back out, back into a world that would now be yours.

“From the moment I met’ya I knew I’d make ya’ queen,” He said as the two of you crawled out of the wardrobe, the two knights followed shortly behind.

You contemplated, looking at Izuku, at Katsuki, the open door, and then to his hands, walking into his open chest as he breathed a sigh of relief, his comforting hands finding purchase on your bac, motioning for his two guards to leave as they exited the room.

“I’ll be yours any day you ask me to, Katsuki,” You pulled away, looking up at him as you smiled gently, “Till the universe stops expanding and the stars die out, I’ll always be yours to love.”

And he kissed you like there was no tomorrow, kissed your lips as passionately as could, trying to get his silent message across as his hands traveled up and down the expanse of your body, trying to tell you his own promise of no words.

You were his and he was yours, and no matter if the sun crashed into the earth and burned everything in its path, Katsuki hoped you knew he’d be right there next to you, watching as the both of you passed the point of no return.

There was a sense of stillness that washed over the southern kingdom when their king announced their new queen.

The throne to the right of him was now occupied, and whenever he’d look over you’d be there, giving him affirmative nods as you gave him the very push he needed in order to be a proper king.

There were wars that still needed to be fought, and greedy people needed to be dealt with, but now, it was done in a proper manner, with two people who wholly cared about the wellbeing of their nation.

Yet perhaps the most melancholy part of this all was the lone knight who stood in the background, twirling the little ring around his finger as he pondered on the life that he could have had if he had been royalty, and had he not been just another pawn in the grand scheme of things.

He never knew if he truly loved you, or had it just been a blooming relationship he cared too much about, but there were only a couple of regrets he had in his lifetime.

Though Izuku would say that the biggest one was when he decided to leave you behind in that forest all those years ago, playing along with the roll your village made him do, watching quietly as you began to forget all about the green-haired friend you had made as a child, as he faded from your mind, the image of gold hair the color of woven silk and ruby eyes replaced him instead.

Katsuki Bakugou not giving a fuck about you while he drives away from your place.

You’d yelled at him to leave, tears streaming down your face, angry that he had led you on only for him to act like he felt nothing for you.

He thought about how little he cared about your smile. How few shits he gave about all the times you’d run your fingers through his thick, unruly blond hair. He rolled his amber eyes at the idea that his heart especially ached on the nights and days you didn’t spend together. The great explosion user gripped the steering wheel harder, the leather protesting and smoking underneath his sparking death grip.

You’d cried and told him that he was too scared to be loved. He had scoffed and told you he wasn’t scared of shit.

But now he was scared shitless.

Scared that he might lose you forever.

He white-knuckled the steering wheel, strategically yanking it around while pulling on the hand brake before speeding off in the direction from whence he’d come.

He didn’t give a single fuck that he scraped the front scoop of his expensive Audi R8 pulling back into your driveway.

His voice came through louder than the banging on your front door. “Oi! (Y/n)! Come open the damn door!”

You approached the door slowly, hugging yourself. If he forgot something, couldn’t he at least have the sensitivity to wait another day to come back for it?

Not yet knowing that, no, it couldn’t wait. He could never forget you.

Saturday afternoon

The youngest twin ran into the living room where Katsukiwas sprawled out on the couch, reading, relaxing, and minding his own damn business.

“Hey, Dad!” the 10-year-old beamed.

The pro-hero husband and father of three grunted. “Go away, I’m reading.”

“Guess what you got in the mail today!”

Katsukididn’t move. Only his narrowed carmine eyes shifted to his son’s. “What?”

“DEEZ NUTZ!”

Katsuki swung his legs around and sat up straight. “HAH? THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME??” Mini-Katsuki took off running, laughing his infectious little laugh. “GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE-” he said, censoring himself with a growl.

He looked over at you in disbelief. You were doubled over and covering your mouth with the back of your hand trying not to spray tea out of your face.

“AND JUST WHAT THE DEVIL’S SHITTY DAY IN HELL DO YOU THINK IS SO FUCKIN FUNNY, HAH?”

His jaw flexed as he watched you with a furrowed brow while you tried to regain your composure, fanning your face. Eventually, you were able to put mind over matter long enough to swallow the beverage that had been threatening to erupt through your nose, your husband’s eyes burning holes through your soul all the while.

“DEEZ NUTZ!” you managed.

Katsuki slammed his book down on the couch and stomped off towards the garage. “You people are fucking trolls, I’m leaving!”

Katsuki = italics∘ You = normal

If you’re fucking hungry, go make something, stupid.

You’re fucking stupid!

Who the fuck are you calling stupid?

You, stupid.

I’m not stupid, you’re stupid.

If I’m stupid, you’re definitely stupid.

Hah? You wanna battle over who’s stupid?

As a matter of fact, yeah! Bring it!

Katsuki leaned in and kissed you on the lips, abruptly. He’d never done that before. You’d been gaming with your best boy-friend and now his tongue was in your mouth and your hands were in his hair.

Neither of you would lose this battle. You both only stood to gain.

Dynamightcame crashing through the ER doors with a scowl on his face. The nurses at the front desk sat back in their chairs when his fiery eyes fixated on them.

“Where is she?” he demanded loudly. “Fucking speak!”

“W-who, sir?”

He rolled his eyes and slammed his fist down on the desk, splintering the wood beneath. “(F/n L/n), dumbass! Ain’t many other people I’d fucking be here for!”

Moments later, Katsukiwas lumbering through the pulmonary ward of the hospital, his shoulders flexing as his gauntlets swung at his sides, gritting his teeth and growling at anyone who stood between him and the door of your hospital room.

One nurse started to ask for his identification until another nurse put their hand on her shoulder and shook their head no.

He’d talked the talk and walked the walk but when he turned the door handle to enter your room, he did so with such a careful, fluid motion so as not to wake you if you were sleeping.

He held onto the door as it closed behind him, letting it latch with a quiet click before turning it loose. He took one graceful stride after another, his heavy boots hitting the tiled floor like feathers as he moved in closer to your motionless body.

Katsuki Bakugou was a hard man, tough as nails and always ready to take on whatever threat or villain or challenge life could possibly throw at him head first. What he wasn’t prepared for was some nameless, faceless enemy that had taken up residence in your body. Probably tiny - microscopic, even - and hiding in places he could never see. He felt helpless. Powerless.

He gingerly removed the gauntlet from his right arm and delicately set it down on the floor beside his feet, his scarlet eyes never leaving your form in the process.

He could hear your labored breaths even as he remembered his promise to himself going into this: that he wouldn’t fucking cry. But he stood corrected, one tear…then another falling onto the clean, white sheet next to the tube that had been medically inserted into your lung to keep it inflated.

He took your limp hand into his - hard, rough, calloused, and shaking - and kissed your forehead. “I don’t know what the fuck this is, baby, but once I find out I’m gonna kick it in it’s tiny, shitty balls and make it wish it never found you.”

for@xviternity You’ve made so much art for me…now it’s my turn. . I hope you feel better soon!

You and Bakugo did not act like you two were dating. More like an old married couple that bickered way too much. Others around you had no idea how both of you hadn’t killed each other with the constant fights and attitude. But no one needed to know. The only thing that mattered was that Katsuki and you knew. He had dragged you at 7am to go to the farmers market. 7am on a Sunday morning was a death sentence to you.

“Kats you can’t do this to me.” You grumbled into his pecs, drooling into his skin, laying on him like a personal heater. “Doll you gotta get up,” He said pinching your side. You moaned into his shoulder digging yourself into his warm side. “Baby go without me i’m sleepy.” You snuggled into him wrapping yourself into him.

“Either you get up or I make you get up and we both know how that turns out.”

“Leave me here to die.” You ignored his words and basked in his warmth like a cat in the sun.

“Fine don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Katsuki said before gripping his hands on your sleepy body.

“No!”

It was too bright and you were not in the mood. You were walking around the busy farmers market hand in hand with your boyfriend. He loved to cook so Katsuki would drag you to the farmers market to pick up ingredients.

“You’re such a snob grocery stores are just as fine.” You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend

“No it’s not. It’s full of pesticides and other junk bad for your body and Im not eating it.” He squinted in disbelief at you.

“Who cares?” You groaned

“Who cares? I care my body is a temple and so is yours.”

“Yeah my body is a temple” You quoted with your fingers and laughed, “You hand feed me Mcdonald’s fries after nights out.”

He laughed and smacked your side

“Ow!”

“That’s only because you refuse to eat anything else when you drink.”

“So not the point.”

His arm was around your waist as you walked down the street of vendors. You had a tote bag on your shoulder. Wearing a short sundress and sandals to fit the hot weather that today. Bakugo had the ice coffee you forced him to get you in one hand and your waist in the other.

“Give me.” You nudged him and he brought the ice coffee to your lips.

“Thank you.” You hummed and he grunted. You leaned up and gave him a quick kiss. Katsuki tasted the semi sweet coffee flavor on your lips at your kiss.

He was used to your princess treatment but that didn’t mean he didn’t get annoyed with you.

“What are we getting anyway.” You said eyeing the list he had sticking out of his pocket.

“Vegetables.” He said dragging you from vendor to vendor. Your bag was getting heavier.

“Don’t you dare.” You said at the tomatoes resting in his hands as he tried to decide which ones to pick.

“You’re such a baby. Tomatoes aren’t that bad.” He said with bored vermillion eyes.

“Says the person that will eat anything.” You whined.

“I cook so you’re going to like it.” He said exchanging money with the vendor. Katsuki slipped the heavy bag from your shoulder to his.

“Hm…yeah i don’t know about that.”

“You’re such a brat.”

“And you’re an asshole.”

The vendor was staring at both of you with wide eyed at your foul language to each other. It was a big contrast from usual couples. Most couples are lovey dovey and morning people who enjoyed spending time together and the farmers market. Quiet happy couples. You two were bickering and smacking each other, generally being assholes to each other.

Katsuki tugged you to his side and both of you moved on to the next stall.

“Here, you’re still cranky.” He said nudging the straw to your lips, still holding your drink.

“I am not.”

You continued to sip your watered down coffee. The cup was tiny in his large grip and scarred knuckles. With only semblance of color are his reddened knuckles and a bright pink pinky finger you painted a couple days ago.

“Yes you are. You’re not a functional person until noon or you drink caffeine.” He laughed showing his teeth at your glare.

“No one is a functional person at 7am. You know who is. Psychos, psychos and you.” You retorted swatted his hand pinching your ass.

“Yeah and this psycho is dating you.”

You frowned at his words. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I would never date you.”

But within the slaps he was giving loving squeezes, holding a coffee to your lips, and carrying the bag so you would be comfortable. It was the least he could do dragging you out of bed so early.

After he finished his list you two walked bag to the car. He started to put away the groceries as you sit in the passenger seat waiting for him. Katsuki looked like was going to bite you when you tried to help.

He sat down in the drivers seat and kissed your hand. Shifted the car into gear and rested his hand on your thigh as you played according to him your “god awful” music. Katsuki wouldn’t spend his Sundays with anyone else. Ready to go home and kick you out of the kitchen and cook both of you lunch as you played with your pets in the living room watching whatever show you were obsessed with now. Then to have you cuddle him and thank him for cooking, and forcing him to take an afternoon nap as your pillow.

“Stop being a jackass.” you rolled your eyes at your boyfriend Katuski’s behavior.

“I’m not being a jackass you’re just being a bitch.”He sniped back with an attitude. His red eyes narrowing in anger

“Fine.” standing up and leaving the lunch table and sitting next to Shoto. You didnt have the energy to fight with him.

Shoto looked at you in surprise, you never sat with him at lunch and you had a scowl on your face.“What’s wrong y/n” He asked slurping cold noodles

Shoto and you were super close friends when you first started UA and of course that bothered Katsuki’s possessive ass but that didn’t stop you from having other relationships.

“He’s being annoying so iIm spending time away before I punch him in the mouth.” you grumbled ignoring the set of eyes boring into the back of your head. Shoto leaned over and saw Bakugo’s glare directed towards you from across the cafeteria.

Today was not a good day and you stupidly went to your boyfriend to feel better.

Shoto shrugged at your reply and kept eating his food as you changed the subject and discussed the upcoming homework with him.

In all honestly maybe you were blowing things out of proportion but you had just started your period and him calling you bitch really set you off.

For the rest of the day you avoided Bakugo only pissing him off further.

He got the notification on his phone it was your time of the month and felt bad for arguing and just wanted to make it up to you. You were especially sensitive during this time and in severe pain and he only made it worse.

During training he tried to partner up with you but you swiftly turned on your heel once he moved in your direction and partnered up with Mina instead.

Internally he was groaning in defeat but his scowl only deepened further at your obvious dismissal of him.

Why were you making things so damn difficult when he just wanted to apologize and give you a hug like you were craving.

When Mina body chucked you to the ground right as a cramp hit, you laid on the floor for an extra minute or two breathing heavily. Bakugo temporarily got distracted at you on the floor during his sparring with shitty hair and got clocked.

By the time he realized what had happened he was on the ground and Mina was helping you up as you limped to recovery girl.

Were you really in that much pain? Mina wasn’t exactly your biggest rival when it came to hand to hand combat.

“Hey man you all right?” Kiri asked with furrowed brows at his sparring partner’s distraction.

“Yeah it’s just y/n…” he responded not letting his eyes off of you.

“I’m sure she’s fine.” Kiri reassured as you disappeared down the hallway, gripping Bakugo’s hand and hauling him to his feet.

Training went on for another hour or so before Aizawa called it a day and dismissed the class.

Bakugo made a beeline for recovery girl’s office.

The sun was setting, golden light filling the room, when he burst into the infirmary to find you in bed with your arm slung over your eyes and slowly breathing.

At the noise you lifted your head and squinted at his figure at the door.

“What are you doing here?”

“What do you think dumbass i’m coming to check up on you.” He rolled his eyes and came to sit on the bed next to you.

“I don’t want you here, go away.” you groaned moving away from him and getting out of the bed.

“Hey! come on I didn’t mean what I said earlier please sit down.” He tried to coax you back into bed. Honestly hurt that you didn’t even want him near you.

You grabbed your book bag and slid on your shoes ignoring his presence. Going back to your dorm was for the best

Bakugo stood up from bed and tried to pry the book bag from your grasp.

“Seriously! don’t touch me.” you almost growled yanking the book bag from his grasp and quickly making down the hallway back into the dorms with him hot on your heels.

“Baby come on I didn’t mean it just was in a bad mood please just let me help you.” he pleaded as you began to unlock your door.

You snorted in disbelief. Everyone was in the commons room on the couches watching you two at your door.

Quickly opening the door and sliding in to slam it closed in his face. Bakugo groaned out on frustration before resting his head against the door.

He slowly turned to see all of class 1-A staring at him, “What are you extras staring at!” making everyone quickly avoid his gaze going back to whatever they were doing before.

You and Bakugo always came back to your dorms and stayed there together til dinner time then fell asleep together to get ready for school the next morning.

Now that he was locked out Katsuki was pissed. He plopped down on the couch with the rest of the class as they all joked when Denki smugly moved to sit next to him.

“So y/n is mad at you. What did you do?”

Bakugo side eyed him before running his hand over his face in frustration, “I called her a bitch and she’s on her period right now.”

Denki whistled lowly, “Damn you really are a lady killer.”

“I know alright but i didn’t know that she was on it today so.”

Urakaka piped up, “Still you shouldn’t be calling you girlfriend a bitch period or not. Not everyone has tough skin like you.”

He groaned for what seemed like the 50th time today knowing they were both right.

“I know okay! I don’t know how to fix it she won’t even give me the time of day!”

“I would give her time right now her emotions are way too scattered for her to think clearly about an apology.” Uraraka advised

You were known for being a pretty normal tempered person but when it was your time of the month you were either a sobbing mess or would rip someone’s head off for breathing too loudly around you. Bakugo knew this and always was extra cautious around this time not wanting to be victim to your emotions. He would cuddle you with his warm hands and bring you extra food so you wouldn’t pass out and dote on you being the perfect boyfriend. Not a boyfriend that called you a bitch.

Crying into your pillow no amount of pain killers were working for your cramps and your boyfriend called you a bitch today. Everything was terrible and you just wanted to disappear.

It had been a couple hours since you locked Bakugo out and you were getting dehydrated.

You slowly crawled out of bed and went into the kitchen to get some water when the ice machine was broken. Now this isn’t something to cry about usually. But that seemed like the last straw today.

Rolling your eyes you already felt the tears starting to drop.

God this is so stupid you just wanted ice.

At a noise you turned seeing Shoto enter the kitchen.

He frowned at your sad appearance, “Y/n why are you crying?”

“The stupid ice maker is broken.” you said staring at your half full glass

Shoto blinked before making his way over to you and producing a shard of ice in his hand and dropping it in your glass.

The tears wouldn’t stop but you kind of felt relieved. He was always the one nice person you could count on no matter what.

“Thanks Sho,” you whispered before giving him a hug.

It took months when you first became friends for him to accept high fives or hugs from you but slowly but surely you trained him to accept them.

He gently patted your head and rubbed your back.

“I know it’s your time of the month but you cry over ice?” He asked making you laugh.

“Yeah I guess I do.”

“Okay.”

You two slowly let go and Shoto went into the fridge to eat leftover cold sobo and started to eat it at the counter as you drank your water.

Shoto’s bluntness always made you laugh so the small talk took your mind off of things as you talked about whatever you wanted. Joking about his dad was always a favorite pastime of yours ever since Sho revealed what happened to him when he was little during a heavy all nighter last year.

As you finished your glass of water you heard the door slam from across the hall. You didn’t even need to look up to know who was walking into the kitchen with a foul attitude and heavy footsteps.

Shoto turned his head at the noise and looked at you before excusing himself from the kitchen. Not before gently patting your shoulder during his exit.

Dropping your glass in the sink, you waited on his yelling.

“Oh so you’ll spend your time with Icy-Hot but not me? Are you still mad from before?”

Turning your head you saw his squinted irritated eyes and crossed arms not five feet from you.

You wanted to laugh at his obvious question.

“Shoto is my friend so yes I like to spend time with him and yes i’m still mad about before.”

The cramps were twisting your insides and making your headache worse.

“I’m sorry I should’ve been more sensitive to you today but you’re being dramatic.” He sneered.

All you wanted was an apology but OF COURSE Katsuki had to say an excuse ridding him of responsibility. For once for him to be genuinely sorry, was that so much to ask when he said he loved you?

As you brushed past him before he shot out his hand out grabbing you and pulling you into his embrace.

Katsuki saw the dropped look on your face from his awful apology and internally started to panic. He couldn’t deal with this for a week, Katsuki needed you two to be okay.

You shoved him off and failed as his iron grip only tightened against his chest.

He started to rub your back soothingly.

“Stop touching me.” you muffled into his chest.

“I’m sorry I know you’re in pain. I shouldn’t have called you a bitch you’re not bitchy you’re just not feeling well. I know I can be a shitty boyfriend so let me make it up to you and go lay down in bed. I will cuddle you as much as you want.”

Finally relaxing at his words you let your face smoosh against his broad chest and let him rub his warm fingers down your spine.

“Fine I forgive you.”

He let out a small sigh of relief at your words and kissed the top of your head.

Kats carried you to your bed and held you until you fell asleep.

Glimpse of Us

pairing: Bakugo Katsuki x Reader

word count:904

genre: angst

His tired crimson eyes rake his apartment.

He instantly relaxes seeing your curled up figure on the couch. Bakugo strips himself off his hero gear by the door, leaving the heavy gauntlets, knee pads, boots and mask by the foyer.

He lies next to you and gently takes you in his arms. Bakugo smiles to himself at how even in your sleep, you turn and melt against him without hesitation. Who knew  it would be this nice to have someone waiting for you to come home? He thinks idly as he touches your cheek. He really thought he wasn’t one for relationships. Always thought it would be such a drag but when you came along, it’s as if everything fell into place. You made his life more meaningful. You made everything easier. Except getting you to sleep in the bedroom when he’s not home yet. He rolls his eyes and sighs.

Bakugo wishes you would stop falling asleep in his stiff couch like this. He hates seeing you rubbing your neck when you get all sore the following morning. He grumbles ‘idiot’ under his breath then kisses your nose. At this, you finally stir awake.

“Welcome home.” You murmur before you could get your eyes to open, leaning closer to press your lips against the base of his jaw.

“I told you not to wait up.” He scolds, feeling your icy fingers against his skin when you try to reach for his face. Bakugo obliges and leans down to meet your lips for a kiss nonetheless, his fingers carding through your locks to tame how wild your hair had gotten from your nap. “Why are you so fucking stubborn?”

“Can’t sleep in the bedroom without you anyway.” You grumble. Bakugo feels his face heat up and he hides it by burying his face in your hair.

Feeling more awake now, you turn in the cramped space on the couch to look at him. You chuckle seeing him stripped down to just his boxers and tank top. You pat his waist and nuzzle his neck, asking, “Do you want to eat? I made your favorite."

Before Bakugo could answer though, you were already getting up to head for the kitchen. Truth be told, he would rather spend more time cuddling with you. But he was starving and you cook his favorite dish the best. A close contender to his own cooking. Sometimes you do get it right and it’s even a fuckton better.

Not that he’d ever tell you. Wouldn’t want you getting ahead of yourself.

Bakugo watches contentedly as you went on to reheat the food and set up the table, a gentle smile subconsciously gracing his face. His home soon smells of your cooking and he sinks further back on the couch where your scent and your warmth still lingers. All he could think of was, this is home. And that if this is what the rest of his life looks like? Then he’s lucked out.

"Why are you staring at me like that?” You giggle.

“Hey, quit staring.”

“Katsuki.”

Katsuki!” She giggles. “I said, do you want your ramen extra spicy?"

Bakugo snaps out of his trance. He blinks and looks around.

Tired crimson eyes rake his 'new’ apartment.

His heart drops to his stomach as he realizes this is his reality now.. He takes a shaky breath as he meets Ochako’s gaze.

Right.

He plasters on a small smile and says, "Yeah,” He finds himself swallowing a lump that has formed in his throat. “S-sure."

Bakugo then turns around, lifelessly walking back to the living area.

The smell of new furniture hung thick in the air, the hint of fresh paint made his nose itch despite the aroma diffusers delicately placed all around the home. Peppermint and incense, just as he likes it. But that didn’t diminish the scalding ache in his chest brought about by the phantosmia of your scent that he sorely misses.

His old uncomfortable couch was replaced by a new one. He could practically sink in it at how soft it is. It felt like clouds. But he knew deep down, would rather have his old one..

He glances around and barely recognises the place. Everything was new. Every item of memory he had of you, gone. And this was what he wanted. Right? Why he gave Ochako the go to redesign his place however she wanted?

Bakugo only realizes he was scowling when made an effort to soften his expression when he sees Ochako walk over to him.  She circles her arms around his waist, cheek squishing against his bicep as she asks, "Do you not like it?”

He met her hopeful gaze and shook his head. “No. It’s perfect. Thank you.” And it is, really. How can it not be when she spent months and months patiently showing him varieties of designs as she puts this home together? Making sure she only gets what he approves or even remotely makes him smile.

Uraraka Ochako was a dream. She picked up the broken pieces that were him when you left. She is kind, understanding and loves him unconditionally.

She is a dream and you were the nightmare that haunts him even when he is wide awake. You are no longer in his life but you still cling unto him through his memories of you that he just can’t seem to let go.

Through the what ifs that rot his brain.

Through glimpses of what had been and could have beens.
