[For non-Filipinos] Barong tagalog or simply barong is a Philippine traditional garment for men. While it is traditionally known to be worn by men, women wearing barong is not uncommon. It is made with sheer textiles wovens from pineapple or abacá, silk, ramie or polyester. Barong is often worn during events such as weddings, formal gatherings, festivities, etc.

[For non-Filipinos] The symbol-like thingy you see on top left of the art is Sero’s name written in baybayin. Baybayin is an old writing system of the Philippines.

I now make 3D cyberpunk artworks in Blender
During quarantine, I’ve been studying Blender so I can add another skillset in my cyberpunk worldbuilding repertoire other than photography. Of course, they will still be Manila-inspired with neon Baybayin moonrunes and flying jeepneys everywhere, as it is my goal to make futuristic sci-fi art that feels close to home.

BAYBAYIN CYBER - A free sci-fi / cyberpunk themed Baybayin font
Hey guys! I know it’s been a while and I’ve been inactive in quarantine lately, but rest assured that I’m keeping myself busy working on my art projects. I know this is not my regular photography post, but in celebration of Buwan ng Wika, here is my latest project that I finished - which is my first attempt at a Baybayin typeface!
As you probably already know, one of my goals in art is to combine cyberpunk futurism with Filipino culture and this font is one such product of this design philosophy.
If you want to use this font for your projects (whether personal or commercial), you already have my permission!

Hi, soon-to-be grads! I’m working on designs for fabric to be used on sablay, graduation malong/sash used by some Philippines schools. I still have to get the test swatch to make sure the design looks good on fabric (the little heart watermark won’t be on the final product).
Here is a a video on how sablay are used. Like tassles, they are moved to the other side once you are officially graduated.
Hopefully the fabric will be proofed by June. If you are graduating then and are interested in getting some fabric to make your own sablay/malong, please let me know (reblog, message, etc) what color you would like (school colors would probably the norm), so then I can proof the fabric in time to allow it to be sold on Spoonflower. If you’re graduating later in the year, I might be able to sew up the malong for you and sell on Etsy.

PS I’ll probably put up a video on how to make your own sablay without sewing, so even if you don’t buy my fabric, you can have a bit of our culture on you when you graduate.

Pink and blue versions! Just recently finished the second one. Can’t even tell you how many hours were clocked in working on them! I don’t think I’ll make any more of these? At that point it’d just be going down the colors, and i need to take care of my wrists lol
