The Carter’s first appearance together in a public campaign, Beyonce wearing a 128.54-carat Tiffany necklace, and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s never-before-seen artwork Equals Pi embellish the details of this campaign with firsts.
Are you ready to remember the names before Beyonce wore this gorgeous 128.54 carat necklace for Tiffany’s About Love campaign? This particular diamond was first worn by socialite Mary Whitehouse in 1957. It was then most famously hooked up by Audrey Hepburn to promote the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in 1961. For Hepburn, the brand’s senior designer Jean Schlumberger finished this necklace called Ribbon Rosette after a long struggle. To commemorate the famous designer, the brand was turned into a brooch called “Bird on a Rock”, also designed by Jean Schlumberger, in 1995 and displayed at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. In honor of its 175th anniversary in 2012, it was placed on a necklace set with 100-carat white diamonds. Lady Gaga wore this design around her neck at the Oscars.
