#boruto sd chapter preview

LIVE

With this one, I broke a personal record: two months late to the party.

I don’t know if someone already translated it, but anyway, enjoy the Temari-ness.

~End of preview~

@nekonekokawaii123 I’m sorry, I don’t know T^T It’s a preview I find in Saikyo Jump’s site, they don’t say which chapter it is, sadly.

And this time, I’m finally on time, ah-ha! (I mean, just two days after the preview was released - the time it takes me to edit the whole thing).

This time is longer than usual…

(*Bunch of tiny Japanese writings at the bottom, too small to translate.)

NOTE: “Makiguso unko-sensei” bears a slight resemblance to “Uzumaki Boruto-sensei”, but as you see, it’s so weak it wasn’t worth a better translation (<-lame excuse because I didn’t have time to think up of an insult that sounded like “Uzumaki Boruto-sensei”).

Also, I’m not an expert on playground taunts but Boruto replies with something like “takes one to know one” - I went with a more literal translation in order to make Watto’s reply more clear.

Aaaaand that’s all, folks!

Hey guess what, once again this is a belated preview (meaning, it came out in January but I realised it just now - Shonen Jump can’t help but puzzle me with their preview-release schedule). Which is a shame because OROCHIMARU-SAMA APPEARED IN IT, WOOH!

Ah right, Sarada is kind of a habitué here.

There are debates going on, about Dad!(Mum?)Orochimaru (i.e. “they ruined a character or not?”)… but he never ceases to crack me up.

By the way, the pronoun he/she is not explicit in Japanese, but I had to make it explicit in English so I used ‘he’ - even if Sarada and Boruto and Mitsuki are not sure about it.

And yeah there’re some assorted writings I didn’t feel like translating on the last page - just ignore 'em.

End of preview!

Not-so-late-to-the-party but yeah, still late to the party.

EDIT:@noaart, sorry, I don’t know the chapter number (‘cause they don’t specify it when they put the preview on Saikyo Jump).

Okay hahaha I think I must explain.

First: I’m not 100% sure about it, but I think I nailed the translation of the first panel. Sasuke said “papa no koto shuki?” and I’m pretty sure shuki stands for suki. But it’s a veeeeery childish/girly way to say it.

And second: actually, 穴があったら入りたい “if there’s a hole you want to go inside it” is an idiomatic expression, it means “you’re so embarrassed you want to disappear”. The fun fact is that I spent a whole hour trying to ignore Naruto’s sentence (for my mental health’s sake) before I discovered it actually was a set-phrase.

So I decided to leave it as it is, because if Kenji Taira and his peculiar sense of choosing idiomatic expressions have the right to screw with my brain, I have the right to do the same with yours.

I think the name of the game, aipuri, is probably the parody of a real-life game (maybe purikura, an arcade game where you edit your photos?), but I’ve lost too much time trying to figure out which one. Heaven’s sake this has been one of the must time-consuming translation I’ve done so far…

Done! Kiyoitsukikage, out!

I don’t know if someone already translated it, but anyway, enjoy the Temari-ness.

Note about Iwabe’s line: 肉体派 lit: ‘body faction’, like, their team is specialised in action rather than thinking. Especially Iwabe

A wild Guy-sensei appears!
