Au Japon il existe dans la culture du manga généralement deux représentations du mauvais garçon.
Le yankee et le bosozoku. Les deux ont en commun la violence, le groupe, l'individualisation forcenée en marge du système.
Le premier est le palier permettant d'accéder aux second.
Aujourd'hui je crois que les deux sont difficilement dissociables.
Des coupes de cheveux inimaginables, uniformes dépareillés, une pratique inlassable du “ je m'accroupis pour mieux te chier sur la gueule et pourquoi pas sur le monde entier ” le délinquant se retrouve dans une kyrielle de codes aisément déchiffrables après la lecture de 2 tomes de Racaille Blues(deMasanori Morita).
Chacun cherche à fuir un environnement familial pourri, un système scolaire à la dérive et pour ça rien de mieux qu'une bonne balade en bécane Honda drivée à mort. Accélérer, ne pas desserrer, avoir une nuit d'avance sur la mort et crier sa rage sur l'asphalte qui brûle dans les ténèbres. Dériver le long des routes où l'amertume se dissipe. La bouche s'imprègne de l'air salin, la mer n'est plus très loin.

I love how these show so much of the details everyone put into these costumes! We all basically started from Squirtle + Sukeban/Bosozoku gang fashion and everyone took it from there! There are some similar themes…we all used the same fabric as the base, and my Pfaff Creative 4.5 cranked out a lot of “Squirtle Girl Boss” lettering and shell patches that we all used on the back of our outfit. But everyone chose their own outfit style, and customized it with everything from embroidered puns, hand beading, applique, vinyl transfers, and hand painted patches. It was so much fun to extrapolate on the theme, and I love the detail and variety we ended up with!

I can finally post this, but I took part in @pokemongozine back in the fall, representing Team Mystic.

The actual narrative of this piece was more about a trip to Japan I was planning with friends that fell through, but neither less, still wanted to use the idea of a foreign gaijin getting lost in a new city, and his ass handed back to him, battle after battle, but ultimately just having fun regardless.
