Santana caught on that the song was secretly about their “sweet lady kisses”.

But then Brittany started singing the chorus, “My cup, my cup,” turning her amusement into shock…

…and then disappointment that the song wasn’t about her.

Strange Straight Man™️: So who wears the pants in your relationship?

Santana: Well we prefer it if neither of us are wearing pants.

Santana was standing in front of the choir room, all her dear friends that had influenced her life over the past six years staring up at her. She held her hands out in front of her, as she always did when she was nervous, and began to speak.

“Years ago, I remember sitting in the back of this choir room. I’d glance around, saddened, until a familiar face would grab my hand, lock pinkies with me, and tell me something crazy about her cat.” She paused to chuckle.

“I didn’t realize the love with person could provide for me. I was blinded. Blinded by the stories I heard, about the bullying gay people received and the torment….being disowned. It was, scary. But, this blue-eyed blonde..” She bit her lip and looked down at her feet, grinning wide as her cheeks were reddened with a deep shade of crimson. “She walked into my life. She made me not be scared of who I really was, she saw every part of me. Even though I picked on everyone in this room at one point or another, she saw the good in me. She was the sunshine of my life, and she still is.

This girl…when I’m with her, she’s all I see. When we talk, there aren’t awkward pauses. When we kiss, I swear I can hear clocks all over the world turning backwards. I can feel sparks on my lips and shivers down my spine. When she talks about the future, I can see it. I can picture the future and I can picture it with her. And, when she says she loves me…I don’t hesitate to respond. Her love entices me, it makes me bewildered and at times she drives me nuts but our romance is…eternal. And she is my infinity.The one person I want to be with forever, despite what people say behind my back. Despite what people do and how they react.”

After the speech, she inhaled a breath and slowly walked to the blonde in question, who was sitting up front with a wide grin. She bent her slender legs down to meet her at eye-level, even pushing back a wave of her hair behind her ear as she stared deeply into those pale-blue eyes. The were an ocean she drowned in.

“Brittany S. Pierce..” As ritual, she took her hand into her much smaller one and locked their pinkies together. “Will you marry me?”

“Yes!”
