imagine this man would literally write poems and novels about you. he would write a world where you can be at peace when something is bothering you, although you wish he could join in as well to further help you calm your nerves. when outside his book, karl would sit on your lap whilst poe talk to you about his new novel to beat ranpo. you loved how dedicated he was to his work, how chatty he is when you’re around. you were the only person that could break down his defenses and shyness, including ranpo of course. you would give him soft forehead kisses when he starts to have a writer’s block to help him calm down from straining his brain too much. having poe as your partner was a blessing from the universe, destiny tethering its strings to you with him was not a mistake to regret. he would probably make an autobiography about you to keep his memories of you forever imprinted and intact in a book. he would read it over and over again, never getting tired of how much you made him feel special while he captured every precise details of you on a piece of paper; from the moment you met him until it gradually reaches its climax on when you fell in love with him.
✧ He doesn’t say aloud when you’re there and about to leave, but the moment you leave him (for a few days), he already begins missing you. He really doesn’t know what to do at that point, staring at that door you left through for a few minutes while twiddling his thumbs with Karl sitting on his shoulder. He’ll perk up when he hears you’re back only because you forgot something, trying to utter some words in before you’re gone again. He’s like a sad puppy, really.
✧ He’ll go and sit at a desk, staring down at some paper—thinking that if he can take his mind off of you by distracting himself, the time that you’ll come back will be shortened. But his antics are utterly useless, all he can think about is you. So he’ll write some poems about you or describe you physically, also how much you mean to him in the time being.
✧ He’s not really used to you being gone, so he’ll go through your closet to find a piece of clothing like a shirt to sleep with. Your scent is what lulls him to sleep so if he really has to cling onto your shirt for dear life in the means of you “being” there, he’ll do it.
✧ It doesn’t take him all that long to eventually call you, crying about how much he misses you. He doesn’t exactly mind admitting that he isn’t complete without you and begs on the phone long enough that you have to say your trip is now shortened (you lied) in order for him to calm down.
