- apart from his declining mental health, one of atsushi’s biggest flaws is his forgetful memory. i shit you not, this man has the memory of a goldfish. it’s one of the reasons why kyouka does not trust him with the house keys or the car keys or the agency keys (or keys in general). the only reasons why he remembers most of the port mafia members so vividly is because of their a) unforgettable emo/vintage aesthetic outfits and b) constantly attempting to murder him will makes it hard to notremember them

- since kyouka and kenji are both big eaters, they like to go out to restaurants whenever they can! every time atsushi comes along, he can practically hear his wallet crying out in pain

Kunikida, running into the room: What’s wrong, Atsushi?!

Y/N: Why are you only asking Atsushi?!

Dazai: Yeah! We’re all screaming!

Kunikida: Because Atsushi doesn’t scream unless it’s an emergency. You two scream whenever you have the chance.

Atsushi: Wow, i didn’t even know pineapple can taste this….sour.

Kenji: is it really that sour?

Y/N: Wait, did you just say pineapple?

Atsushi: Uhh, yeah. why? You want some?

Y/N: Hold on, is there any apple that has a taste of pine?

Kenji: What are you talking about?

Y/N: My dear Kenji, I’m talking about those pine infused apple.

Atsushi: Wait what? I’m eating pineapple right now, not some sort of pine infused apple! I don’t even know what that is!

Y/N: But, you say you’re eating pineapple, which is pine with apple-

Kenji: Pineapple is that fruit where if you touch the skin, you will get stabbed.

Y/N: 

Y/N: OH.

Domestic headcanons.

✧  He’s an early riser and early sleeper. Once he wakes up, he makes sure to do his daily morning routine, but to also water that one aloe plant he has sitting by the small window. It sounds silly, but he does talk to the plant, saying things such as: “here’s your water for the day, it’s good to stay hydrated” or “I’ll be back later to water you again”. He makes sure to text Kyōka and his other colleagues ‘good morning’ so that they can start off the day right (he cares about the little things that can makes someone’s day). Usually by the time he gets home, he’s pretty exhausted and barely makes it to the bathroom to clean himself up. Sometimes he doesn’t even get all his sleepwear on before knocking out on his futon (there have been a few instances where Dazai has barged in and Atsushi has no pants on).

✧ He cleans his living quarters every other day. As he believes “a clear space is a clear mind. He does it so often you wouldn’t be able to find a spec of dust, dirt or debris in his space. He cares about a person’s living space being clean that he offers to clean his coworkers’ home. There are those who accept humbly, kick him out for asking too often and those who welcome him with open arms (Dazai taking advantage of a personal "maid”).

✧ He’s a heavy sleeper. It doesn’t mean that he sleeps a lot though, his body naturally wakes up the time it’s supposed to. Noise can’t wake him, only physical contact can. On some days, he sleeps in which then means that Kunikida has to come in and throw a newspaper or pour water on him. He’s the type of person to only take naps if everyone doesn’t need him, and that means everyone.

✧ You can often find him around the city particularly around in parks, playgrounds and the normal street. He loves strolling around, whether be by himself or with someone. He doesn’t have to be doing anything in particular, just walking, sometimes some people will recognize him from all the good he’s done before and say 'hello’ and he’ll do the same back.

✧ When he goes grocery shopping, he has to hold onto his impulses from buying too much (on an empty stomach which is a terrible habit of his) because he’s trying to save for gifts on his friends’ birthdays coming up (also he doesn’t get enough income). He knows when to stop and slaps himself when he is too persuaded by that lovely old lady who asks if he’d like to sample tea fishballs filled with ground pork. He does spend however, when he sees a small child pleading their mommy for that collectible super hero that comes with candy—he’s always wanted that kind of toy when he was younger so he offers to buy it for the kid (even if the mother says something like “oh, no! I can’t let you do that, that’s too kind”).
