I took my new dog to my favourite camping ground. It was a bit surreal.
I have changed my van around a bit, but still haven’t decorated it inside, although I have most of the materials to do so.

Currently parked in my parent’s driveway while my dog gets better. They have acreage and it’s gorgeous land (and house). I feel like I’m in a botanical gardens from this photo

This 4wd bus drove into the campsite 2 days ago. It is amazing. It parked next to me (dwarfing my van). Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos of inside (or even see inside), or any with its awning out… .

Before I left the campsite this morning, I spoke to a backpacker who had a wonderful setup in his van. He allowed me to take a photo to blog about it. He bought a Mitsubishi Express van with nothing in it and built everything himself from recycled parts and wood and some bought plywood (not much). He spent 10 days at a place with a drill/screwdriver and a $6 saw and made the whole setup. He even found an innerspring mattress in a plastic bag and cut that to make it not as wide. He showed me all the photos he took making it (fantastic!!!), that he had sent back home to show his family. He doesn’t have a blog, so I can’t link to any of it, but I’m so glad he let me take this. It’s so inspiring when you meet someone who has made a lot out of not much… … .

The interior of my van is slowly but surely coming along…
I’ll be installing plumbing for the sink next, as well as making some curtains. Then, building a new bed frame, installing solar, finishing off drawers for the shelves, and (hopefully) putting in a 12v fridge. Ideally before Summer!
