I made a cookie run oc lol. This idea has been floating in my head for a while and i wanted to get it off my chest. I will probably draw him again, and maybe more cookies
His name is Mazagran cookie, and he is a former member of the coffee tribe in the dark cacao kingdom. Mazagran is a coffee drink with rum, espresso, and usually served with a lemon or mint on top.
Mazagran cookie knows coffee magic and uses it with his lemon zest spear to strike his enemies. His flames are hotter than espresso cookie’s, since he uses rum too.
He left the dark cacao kingdom as when the citadel gates closed, there were barely any watchers to fend of the snow monsters. He left to adventure and a lot of the coffee tribe was going to leave anyway, due to the harsh environments.
I also wanted to draw him in a ponytail with caramel arrow, but it spiraled into drawing all the dark cacaoians in a pony tail so.
Maaan….. I’m finally adding a few more pieces I’ve wanted to do for awhile..
Obviously Cookie Run is a more new favorite thing of mine but I always like doodling some of my old favorites….and these GC/PS2 era dungeon crawlers are my absolute favorites.
Linear from Evolution Worlds especially must have had a special kind of impact on my young mind at some point because I’ve always found myself thinking of her whole aesthetic and look. It’s something I’ve attempted to imitate in a number of my own characters. Mags constant support of her is something that always stuck with me too.
Toan from Dark Cloud was what I always thought of when I think of positive, ‘don’t let the world beat you down’ sorta go get em attitude in a honest protag. Dude watches his entire life get destroyed overnight and he just picks himself up and charges at the opportunity to fix it. I know its all for the sake of the game but still….in the context of the character he shows zero hesitation. Xiao just being the cliche cat girl sorta makes me grin now - still a fun trope.
And of course, my much more recent obsession with the Dark Cacao kingdom and its characters is….I don’t know if its aesthetic, drama, design, or a combination of all three but God….I’m glad I got a group picture out of all the current characters. Kinda glad I didn’t get to it until Crunchy Chip was a thing now too.
