I was wondering if anyone has recs to MCU fics of Darcy Lewis or Wanda Maximoff (fu CW, she’s still Jewish, and Romani) reacting to the events in Charlottesville? I’m really hoping to read some.
Not only has Donald Trump repeatedly failed to condemn the white supremacists protesting in Charlottesville, he is now tweeting his disapproval of cities removing Confederate statues “Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You can’t change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson - who’s next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish!”

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE MAYOR OF CHARLOTTESVILLE IS AN UNAPOLOGETICLY BLACK WOMAN NAMED NIKUYAH? The mayor of Charlottesville, Va., Nikuyah Walker, has no problem talking openly about racial disparities in her city, even if that makes some people uncomfortable.
She’s the first African-American woman to hold the office of mayor. She was elected just a few months after last year’s Unite the Right rally. That event was organized by white nationalists to protest the removal of statues of Confederate generals. It turned violent, and one person was killed.
Mayor Walker says the Unite the Right rally helped expose what lies beneath her city’s quaint, well-to-do, college-town exterior. Check out her full interview today on NPR.
