Quick one for Firewords Magazine (https://firewords.co.uk/twelve). My illo was in response to a great short story, by Ashley Hothersall, about a young girl who falls out with a black widow spider.

“This moment felt like translucent panic. It felt like an alternate world where I was a goldfish in a tank watching humans go about their normal lives. What was watching around me looked normal. What I was feeling was a feeling that I have been through before.. but both of these things together created a situation that shrank me down to goldfish size.”
This is one of my favorite projects from 2018. I illustrated 8 different people’s description of their anxiety as part of a book project for DScout. As someone who suffers from anxiety, it was a truly wonderful opportunity to help bring visuals to others’ experiences with the condition.

Prophecy Wines Labels

I have been dying to share this fun project with you for over four years now. I have had the great pleasure on working on a new line of wines called Prophecy Wines. They are available in most American wine stores so perhaps you have sighted them in the wild before already. Right now there are 4 wines in the family but more is expected to join!
The slogan of the Prophecy wine is ‘See the Unseen. Try the Untried’. The wines of Prophecy come from premier growing regions around the world, crafted to showcase each grape variety’s defining characteristics. To embrace the spirit that each wine unearths a shared journey of discovery, the label designs are inspired by Tarot cards. Many classic Tarot symbolisms are preserved in the illustrations but the overall design have been refreshed and tailored to fit the personality and varietal characteristics of individual wine.
1.Sauvignon Blanc: The High Priestess - she is the embodiment of wisdom as well as the guardian of the hidden consciousness.
2.Pinot Noir: The Traveler - he has an intense curiosity of the world. Every journey with its endless possibilities is both a start and an end to him.
3.Pinot Grigio: The Star, she brings the universal blessings.
4- Red Blend: The Lovers, the couple are bonded with love and passion

New piece reveal! :D ps I’m on tiktok now, follow me to see random art vids XD
I was commissioned to create a series of illustrations for Bulletin magazine, the official publication for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
These illustrations were used as a cover/opener and across spreads for a feature about dysphagia and mental health. Dysphagia is the medical term for swallowing difficulties, which can lead to choking. It is prevalent among adults with mental health conditions, especially in psychiatric settings. However, there is a widespread lack of awareness of this and dysphagia needs can be ‘overshadowed’ by a mental health diagnosis.
The article goes on to talk about how speech and language therapists should share information and experiences, to strengthen the networks of therapists working in the area of dysphagia and mental health.

American poet Walt Whitman’s famous poem “I Sing the Body Electric” intuited the intimate relationship between the body and its animating soul. As the basic operating principle of nervous systems is based on the flow of electrical currents, I depicted this link as a multifaceted profile emerging from electricity.
This illustration started life as an unchosen concept for a commission but I couldn’t shake the idea, so I decided to finalise it for myself!

Here is an alternative idea I came up with for a recent article about the UK government’s levelling-up agenda in The Planner.
There was mention in the original article of the government using a magic wand to try and even up investment between the different areas of the country. I thought this lent itself well to the concept of regional disparities.

I was commissioned by The Planner to illustrate an article about the UK government’s levelling-up agenda.
The author discusses how some communities still don’t get a “fair slice of the cake”, with regional disparities in the UK above those in comparable developed economies.
I came up with a couple of concepts and this one was chosen, reflecting the inequality of investment between Northern “red wall” areas and South East Conservative-voting towns.
