I was digging my old folders and found this project:
Years ago in 2o11 I had to design a costume as my uni task and here is the result and early concept sketches. That’s how a new enigmatic character named Sarkah appeared in my head! Later this design evolved into a performance and an animation.
My first foray into cosplay design for the Blizzney cosplay group. They will be cosplaying Disney/Blizzard characters for Blizzcon 2019 day 2! A mash up of Kael'thas Sunstrider and Jafar from Aladdin!
This design is up for grabs if anyone wants to cosplay it, if you would like to inquire about a custom costume design you can shoot me an email at: [email protected]
More items created by my “one item a week before Quest” endeavour! Given that Quest, Australia’s biggest medieval LARP, is being held in a slightly colder region this year, I decided that mittens were a good idea to keep my hands nice and toasty.
I bought the base of the mittens from Historic Enterprises, and altered them to fit better. I added wool decorations, rabbit fur and a bunch of silk thread embroidery.
For more information about the historical basis of these awesome mittens, check out this short 3 minute video I made.
I made a pouch! This has been a part of my “one item a week” endeavour leading up to Swordcraft Quest, Australia’s biggest medieval LARP event. I picked a few items of mine that really weren’t up to scratch and needed an overhaul and have worked towards crafting well made items with quality materials.
This bag is inspired by a 14th century pilgrim’s pouch and apart from the alcohol based dye and kangaroo leather thonging, is largely historical.
Top - 1.5mm cow leather Bottom - thin sheepskin Lining - 100% wool Thread - 100% linen, waxed with beeswax Fittings - Pewter, mostly from Billy and Charlie. Dyes - Angelus alcohol based dyes.
This bag took about ~40 hours to make and I’m very pleased with it. It is made to fit my iPhone 8, credit cards and ID, so that I don’t have to leave them in my tent at the event.
If you’re interested in my inspiration behind this bag or want a breakdown of how I made it (which is not a step-by-step how-to, mind you, but more of a rambling about the process), you can check out a youtube video I made about it here. Feedback and questions welcome!
