so why are phil’s keep sakes okay. ghostbur’s blue, friend’s first coat, the friendship emerald, tommy’s helmet, all of ranboo’s gifts, the sword he killed his son with. why are those okay.
but tommy’s discs, his books, bedrock, remains of pets & schlatt, the axe of peace, drista’s knife, etc considered unhealthy, the source of his problems, and not okay to have. why are they ‘just items’ that can be replaced.
but phil’s are valuable keep sakes?

someone else said this in passing but i do wanna draw attention to the fact that c!phil’s example item that he burned to prove “material things didnt matter” wasnt one of his own items LMFAO
like yeah of course you perceive the loss of the god apple to not matter cphil… it wasnt yours. the concept of his “advice” wasnt completely flawed but i think it woulf have been a lot more impactful and less hypocritical of him to have burned his own item in the example, rather than something ctommy could have potentially used to help himself in a troubling situation

not only is it a meaningful gift it’s also just like… incredibly useful. it’s one of the rarest items on that server - more totems of undying exist than god apples and he just burned one like it was nothing. c!tommy’s actively in danger and c!phil is burning the things that are going to keep him safe.
one of tommy’s first reactions was something along the lines of he could’ve used that.
an enchanted golden apple (something that if you watch ranboo’s streams to find them, took a LOT OF TIME to find. took him a combined hours, several thousands of blocks looking and tons of chests looking)
something that, in a pvp battle, or a fight against, someone…. i dont know maybe hunting him down? could literally be the difference between life or death. the difference between being able to run away. difference between just that second more that gives him time to run or fight back.
but no!! it’s just a thing :) you can replace those! says the man who has like 10…. also a handful of totems…and his friend has like 7….and some more totems…..and extra sets of powerful armor and weapons….and access to potions…. definitely something to replace! says the man to the kid with nothing. not a pickaxe to his name, a handful of diamonds, and hand me down armor.

c!dreams obession with the discs was the same as c!dreams obession with c!tommy at the time. they where one in the same. c!tommy was choosing between c!tubbo and what was to him, “ending the game” between him and c!dream
and he still chose c!tubbo. Its okay he fucking hesitated
nd phil doesnt know this of course but he had no reason to yell and immediately victim blame when he KNOWS the kind of person cdream is, and KNOWS the mental state ctommy is in. HE FUCKED UP– accept that!
also, phil telling tommy to just overcome this is in no way productive for tommy. tommy constantly asks “what do I do?” “someone help me!” this advice doesn’t help because there’s literally nothing tommy can do at this point. it confuses tommy because abuse isn’t something he can just overcome. and it’s so frustrating to watch
you know. I’ve really had enough of watching this kid throw himself at a wall and beating himself up over it. tommy is taking bad advice, he’s building safehouses, he’s putting up and taking down walls, all to fix the dream problem. tommy is trying to fix a problem that does not reside in him because he’s been told that he is the problem instead of dream. and i’ve really had enough of people telling him that.
I know we are all mad about the items thing, but is anyone else really upset that c!Phil tried to make it seem like c!Tubbo only exiled c!Tommy because of c!George’s house and not because c!Dream threatened to hurt people if c!Tubbo didn’t exile c!Tommy. Like, geez, c!Phil clearly only has half the facts and is still trying to lecture c!Tommy.
