The Koakun-Klun is a lizard-like creature found in Cape Verde in Africa. The Koakun-Klun is described as a lizard-like creature that is said to resemble a mix between a crocodile and a monitor lizard and it is grey in color and is sometimes depicted with a tail that resembles a whale’s. The Koakun-Klun is said to do a death roll similar to that of a crocodile’s however it brings it prey deep underwater and then does the death roll to ensure that it’s prey doesn’t get away.

Dakosaurus looks like a type of dinosaur or plesiosaur, but it is actually one of many prehistoric crocodiles that developed fins. They reached lengths of up to 15 feet, and had an incredibly powerful bite.

Guillermo Gonzalez was sent by his boss to Veracruz to measure some lands. He went by horse. Because it was very hot, he stopped to take a short rest by the river. He fell asleep and heard a voice in his dream that was calling him. He woke up and saw three crocodiles ready to attack him. He’s sure it was the Virgin of Guadalupe who warned him in his dream, and he thanks for saving him.

if I were a dentist I would fill my office with commissioned paintings of alligators and crocodiles, which as we all know are teeth-themed animals

I would absolutely have loved that, been absolutely delighted, as a child and still today

big mural outside of crocodile children lining up to have their teeth cleaned by a plover dentist

Sharks are also teeth-themed …

One of the most well-known of crocodiles is the Nile crocodile of Africa, who is a fearsome predator of animals and people. Ancient Egyptians saw the Nile crocodile as their fearsome God Sobek. An aggressive God, Sobek represented the power of the Pharaoh.  However, He was also their God of fertility and protection. A link to the deep past, the Nile crocodile is respected and feared. As Sobek, the Nile crocodile is a part of the primal strength of nature.

The “Crocs: Ancient Predators in a Modern World” exhibit was a really great companion to the “Dinosaurs Among Us” exhibit. Not nearly as involved, it was still a really great in-depth look at the other living lineage of Archosaurs (and if the Pterosaurs exhibit had still been around, all three major groups of Archosaurs would have been present!)

There were some living specimens and they were good, sharp scalemen. Plus some fossils and a brief overview of the evolution of Crocodylomorphs (didn’t look at less derived Pseudosuchia, though).

I love Pseudosuchians, and I really need to do more with them. This exhibit definitely reminded me of that!

“All 27 Species of Crocodilian (Inc 3 Recently Discovered)” by Textbook Travel

Chinese alligators and dwarf crocodiles are adorable. Lots of good reference for drawing different scales and boney head ridges, for designing different shaped dragon heads.

Now for something completely different! I was practicing using my cintiq (recently switched to it!) Now for something completely different! I was practicing using my cintiq (recently switched to it!)

Now for something completely different!

I was practicing using my cintiq (recently switched to it!) and I was surprisingly happy with the sketches, so I thought I’d share! These are my brain babies that have existed for a few years now, but I was too scared to show them off haha

They’re all supposed to be characters for a Comic series that I want to work on some day - The Investigators!
The original concept was an idea from my eldest sister, who asked me to expand on it, so I came up with a handful of main and side main characters.

Alexander is the main character of the story, Gharial and Croc are his two best friends and partners!
The other characters have important roles in the story as well, but I’ll leave the explanation here for now~

I hope you guys like my characters

I remember two dreams from last night.

In the first dream I went to a record shop I used to go to years ago and asked if they had anything for me, meaning had any of my orders come in. They had a look and they found two books, one of which was an AD&D manual. Then I went back to where my own shop was on O’Connell St. in Clonmel. My father and I were just closing up when I friend of mine from school that I haven’t seen in 35 years came up, still dressed in our stupid school uniform even though I’m 46 now.

The second dream started with me in the middle of a hunt for killer crocodiles. I was in a sewer under Los Angeles when I saw some in the tunnel ahead, just sort of lazing around. And when I came back, some more killer crocodiles had wandered into the way I had come. Thankfully these ones were docile, but I was happy to get the hell out of dodge. I knew I would need to save the city from these things because they were close to overrunning the place.

In this dream, my first best response to the problem was to grab a helicopter which dropped me right into the top story of a hotel. I wandered into a room and there were several models / actresses on the bed (not in any state of undress or anything - I cannot emphasise enough how not-sexy this whole thing was - it was all business). I can only remember Baywatch-era Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth. I told them I needed their help and they seemed happy enough even though they were shocked to hear the news.

“The LAPD are calling them killer crocodiles.”

“Oh my god.”

“Because they seem to be larger than normal crocodiles and also more aggressive.”

“Right.”

We started making plans and figuring out how to approach Los Angeles’s killer crocodile problem when I noticed something in the bed.

“E-Rat. Out!”

At this point a previously unrevealed Emily Ratajkowski came out from under the bedsheets and left the room. I think the implication was that she’s shit in a crisis.
