So there was a cut scene where Marcy explained why she didn’t go out into the continent to actually look for Anne and Sasha, which apparently “Some newts” at the council suggested she should do.
She instead presents it as HER idea to instead stay and wait for Anne and Sasha to sooner or later make her way to the capital.
Now what I’m curious about is whether it really was her idea all along, and Andrias just went with it to make full use of Marcy’s talents and make her feel important in the capital, or whether Andrias subtly planted the idea in Marcy’s head, and just let her think it was her own idea, when in reality she was dancing on his puppet strings.
Either way, the result was the same. Withouth realizing it, she was chained to Newtopia, and only left it to go on very specific missions to further make her feel like Andrias appriciated her greatly.
So, I sometimes look up Sailor Moon genga (the original drawings by the animators) on various sites and I came across these.
It depicts Usagi talking to Chibiusa from the stairs, going back down them, then seemingly hearing something and looking back up. A few months later, I found a cel of an inbetween frame with Chibiusa turning to look at her.
I’m wondering if this is from episode 159 or something? Because after Chibiusa is done talking to Helios, we cut to Usagi and the girls at the cafe the next day. Usagi mentions in it that she asked Chibiusa if she was talking to someone last night and she replied that she was just talking to Momo on the phone, but she didn’t really believe it.
Was that scene animated but deleted afterwards? The corrections are clearly done by Ikuko Itoh (who was the animation director for 159), but none of her episodes show any scenes like this.
On Gravity Falls, we often have to cut stuff we like for time reasons. If we go a minute over length, the channel will stick us in the man-sized freezer with Walt Disney’s frozen head. But as every now and then these once dead scenes can rise from the grave and live again on the internet, like highly GIF-able zombies.
