Fun fact: The Sparkly rainbow kitten bedding is based on the dining cloths on Geordi’s dinning table. I theorized it was a gift to Data for the kittens.
Chapter 23: A Sketcy depiction of Data and Geordi in a room together in a starship. Geordi sitting on Data’s shoulders and looking into a hole in the jagged ceiling. Data is handing him some sort of adjustable wrench to fix and examine the break.
I think part of what makes the ending of Nemesis so hard to stomach (for me at least) is that I can’t dismiss it as being bad writing or out of character. It would be easier I think to be able to say “wow, that was soout of character, the writer obviously doesn’t understand Data at all, wow” and then mentally discard it from canon.
But it isin character. It is 1000% in character. If Data was in that situation, I know in the deepest places of my heart that he would absolutely sacrifice himself for his friends. And I think that’s what makes it hurt so badly.
