LIVE

I’ve watched (actually some days ago) “Star Trek: Nemesis”. It was very good! The end was especially interesting and unexpected.

(Spoilers!) Engage!

I think part of what makes the ending of Nemesis so hard to stomach (for me at least) is that I can’t dismiss it as being bad writing or out of character. It would be easier I think to be able to say “wow, that was soout of character, the writer obviously doesn’t understand Data at all, wow” and then mentally discard it from canon.

But it isin character. It is 1000% in character. If Data was in that situation, I know in the deepest places of my heart that he would absolutely sacrifice himself for his friends. And I think that’s what makes it hurt so badly.

The Thalaron Generator is emitting a green glow, illuminating the entire image in green shades. The bottom of the image has blurred text that reads “Goodbye.”]

NOOOOO!!!! *screams and sobs in Nemesis*
