A reminder. For me anxiety sometimes manifests as something called “air hunger:” feeling like you’re not able to get enough air in your lungs, like you can’t breathe, even though your lungs are clear. Anxiety’s many shapes are not always known to the people who are haunted by them, and not all those shapes have names. Keep abreast of yourself and practice grounding - bind the things that haunt you with names and take what power you can. We’re all in this together. Breathe deep.

Sometimes I need reminder to breathe. Life is always better on the other side of a deep breath.

My therapist reminded me that I tend to get caught up in my mind as a defense from letting myself feel too much sometimes. It’s strange to forget to breathe. Taking a moment to take a deep breath always resets me to live better from my heart, even if it’s vulnerable and messy sometimes.
