Meet Princess Azibal, one of the more recent characters from First Empress. Azi is a daughter of an infamous Venarri (Phoenician) corsair warlord known as Barkit, the Pirate King. Early in book two, Queen Viarra and three of her warships thwart a pirate attack on a small, island fishing town while on their way to visit one of her rivals. Azibal and her crews take the villagers hostage in order to secure a chance to escape imprisonment and execution.
As part of the negotiation, Queen Viarra keeps Azibal as a political hostage to ensure her father leaves Vi and her allies alone. At the same time, Azibal serves as her father’s emissary to Viarra’s court and an advisor against the hegemony’s domestic pirate threats.

Both are done in a pastel style, depicting him from the chest up. They are pretty much the same drawing, except for the background colours and the highlights from where the light hits, eg. his hair and glasses. There is also an additional reflection in the eyes of the cyan version, making him look a little more sinister. Both drawings depict him in his usual outfit with his badge, though the art style used here is a little more realistic-looking than the original art style. His ribbon shimmers and his suit looks a little silkier. End ID.]
