IMPORTANT

I’ve owned a dog for over a decade and I love her more than myself but can I just say, I hate how stressful it can be. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and there’s nothing we can do about it and ever since, I have been stressed over everything. I mean, my panic disorder definitely doesn’t help my case, but goddamn, there’s nothing wrong with her but you’ll still find me sitting in a corner panicking and over-thinking everything.

If anyone has experience with anxious dogs, please consider reading below.

My dog has been having major anxiety/panic issues. This hasn’t always been the case but since the past year or so hes been unspeakably afraid of bicycles, skateboards etc (anything that rolls). Hes anxious to go outside, and once we ARE outside hes constantly on edge. Paranoid, looks behind him, walks too fast. I cant think of any event that could have triggered this behavior in him. He doesnt always get panic attacks when theres bikes or something nearby but when he does, hes uncontrollable. He tries to run like it’s life or death. He doesnt hear or look at me, hes terrified. I have to pick him up when this happens because he does NOT stop trying to run. He pulls on the leash like hes going to die if he doesnt get away. He’s tried to run into traffic.

He’s eight years old. He wasnt always like this. We’re going to consult our vet about it soon but if anyone here has had experiences like this and can share anything that could possibly help, I’d be thankful. My boy really suffers from this issue and I just want to make it okay.
