Also done at the @grandcentralatelier on the last month of June. I got Jamül as a model, it’s super cool to have a person that’s been showing on my feed for such a long time. It makes the world seem a bit smaller and more real.

Here is an assortment of 40 minute class demos. I am always weary of showing sketches but what the heck… I like the aesthetics of Fast drawings. Doing demos in class is great, students get to see how I draw and I get a precious bit of time for my own drawing amusement.

“The Trance Ritual”

Here is the finnished drawing of the previous post. It took ages to take a decent photo as the drawing was stubbornly glaring at the camera… hard lessons in photographing drawings… always fun.

The title for this piece is still undefined but its part of my upcoming sculpture show. It’ll be about the Neolithic period, it’s matriarchal societies and the subsequential transition to more violent eras. Keep in tune for more stories made of stone.
In this piece I experimented with white chalk and grafite mixed together, it can get mushy but some of the results are delicious.

The final drawing in @art.savannahtatecuff ’s workshop at the @portoatelier . It was an amazing experience that I recommend to everyone out there! The model is @alicejoanagoncalves a really good and successful performance artist that I had the pleasure to draw in a classical manner. Thanks a bunch lady!

I present to you @johnny.bee.good_ , a tattooed biker that looks rough as rough can be, but, also a delicious social chocolate… one of our most “fofinho” students of all time! Thanks for the sessions mate!

I had the pleasure to draw @ockpii a sound, video game, movies and art enthusiast. He was really generous on how many hours he posed for this drawing… without that amount of time the outcome would have been a trainwreck! Recently Anthony Baus came to my studio @portoatelier for a figure and perspective workshop. This is my take on that week. The model was the most muscular human I ever drew… … I imagine guys like this back in the iron age resisting the occupation of the Roman empire… It’s been a loooong time since those events in the Peninsula but I really hope they gave those invaders a hard time…

Here is a funny post for a more relaxed summer time. These are around 2 to 4 minute portraits of two models that happen to be real twins. One, with long hair the other, with short. 

“Offerings II”

On the first drawing of this series I used the skull of a male mammal as a symbol of ovaries, on this piece I used a sheep’s skull to represent… “masculinity”… really curious coincidences of patterns in nature… Graphite, white chalk and black wax pencil on hand toned paper.
