Cass seethes, silent and still against the wall. His eyes trace the cornices of the ceiling until he finds a crack in the plaster, stretching like a lightening bolt to the horrendous brown light cover.
They were in some crappy motel in the middle of nowhere. Not exactly a pay by the hour joint but definitely a nobody will ask you what’s in the suspicious duffel bag sort of place. The sort of place you can give any old name and the clerk won’t bother checking for ID as long as you pay in advance. The sort of place Cass probably would’ve stayed if he didn’t have the Facility to bed down in.

I’m doing fine by the way. The surgeon was super nice and had a daughter who’s a fan of owl house! Currently with family, chilling in CT, and I’m already on my feet. No running, hiking, drinking, dancing, or goofin and drawing kinda hurts when I bend over… This week has just been a lot!!! WEH!!!!!!!!!

If people had bodily autonomy, we couldn’t require them to take vaccines or wear masks, either. Nor could we regulate which substances people can imbibe while driving.
Or could we? Of course we could! Your right to swing your fist ends when it hits my face, after all. Drunk driving can be banned because your bodily autonomy in getting drunk does not legalise putting others at risk. We can’t require anti-COVID measures per se, but we can criminalise interacting with other people without them and potentially giving them COVID.
Similarly, we can criminalise abortion because it harms the fetus (a seperate person), criminalise doing drugs because you might do something dangerous to other people while intoxicated, criminalise selling drugs because they’re an unsafe product, criminalise casual (and gay) sex because it risks spreading STDs and hurting your partner’s feelings to the point of needing therapy, etc.
It’s almost like debates over human rights inevitably reduce to object-level opinions.

So I’ve gotten into Needy Streamer Overload. I gotta say, this game tossed my brain around in a skillet like an over-easy egg. Cutesy anime webcore in pastel hues ain’t usually my aesthetic, but this game is so compelling that I just had to do some fanart. It was nice to step outside my comfort zone for a bit!
Plus, hey, any excuse to slap a chromatic aberration filter on something. :P
