Donald’s family is composed of three branches. The McDuck Clan, Coot kin and the Duck family.
Coots are smaller birds that often get mistaken for ducks and while Coot can be used as a last name like how Duck or Mouse are common last names in the duckverse (like Johnson or Smith etc) I doubt that Barks and Rosa went out of their way to give them a last name without it having some biological meaning as well.
Donald’s dad, Quackmore Duck, is the son of Elvira Coot and Humperdink Duck. Now, unfortunately we don’t know much about Humperdink’s parents but we’re given enough tools at our disposal to figure enough out.
Donald’s mother is Hortense McDuck, a fiery duck from Scotland. As far as I can tell, duck is all she has.
So that’s it right?? Donald is part duck part coot??

The guy who looks high at the bottom left corner of the picture there?? That’s Gus Goose. He’s a semi-distant cousin of Donald’s related to him from his father.
Now it’s implied from the family tree that the goose part for Gus came from Luke Goose which is fine and dandy and it could very well have been from him. But again, it doesn’t have to be the only source of goose in his family. (and it already isn’t considering Gladstone Gander canonically being half goose half duck)
Humperdink’s parents are unknown right?? Who’s to say he isn’t part goose as well? Maybe he got it from his dad or mom who knows they’re not in the tree. And if he’s part goose part duck, then Quackmore is goose-duck-coot mixed.
Going by all of this, we can say that Donald Duck is 2/4ths Duck, ¼th Coot and ¼th Goose.

Here’s a little comic I’ve been working on and off the past few months! This is just the first half, I’m still working on the second half, that’ll be done in a couple weeks I think.
As for why I made this, I guess I just thought it’d be interesting to see Daphne and Magica interact. I wanted to have Daphne encourage a young Magica, who’s struggling with her magic, and give her some sort of pep talk.
It was kind of a struggle to write their dialogue together tho, since I had to be sure that an older Magica wouldn’t connect her meeting with Daphne to Gladstone later on. Their conversation had to vague enough that no mention of Daphne’s name, her luckiness, or even the name of the city Duckberg happens.
It’s the same reason why I had Gladstone as still an egg instead of a baby, which I was originally gonna do. But Magica might’ve connected that to an older Gladstone, plus an egg is easier to draw lol.

Back with another translation. I own this comic for a long time but never translated it cause its a bit boring to do to be honest. The most important page is the second to last, the rest focused on OCs only created for this story.
BUT it is still a very important Comic for the Dimeshipping Canon and can not be ignored.
Basicaly Scrooge and Magica team up to play matchmakers for a very shy and oblivious couple.
Yes, thats the whole plot. Funny how in the end, Scrooge and Magica remain the most oblivious couple of all
They get a long so damn well. In the end Magica invited Scrooge to a witch coffe (it was hard to translate, but its something disgusting for humans) and he just drinks it with a smile as they celebrate their victory. Before they fall back into their routine.
The comic shows what could be if they where not so stubborn. Also Scrooge gives the new couple a huge amont of money, hiding it by buying a book against witches that is complete useless.

Btw I wrote an FF set after this comic to give us Dimeshippers a proper fluff ending.
First at all I have NO idea what this new AU story in Topolino magazine is about. I just saw Scrooges long sideburns and decided Magica was the one braiding them. He also did her hair… at least he tried, its a bit messy but she still wears it proudly as it is
Sadly Magica is not in this story, so I had to made up her outfit. Its inspired by Reginellas and Minnies.
