For a while i was thinking of an idea to draw with this song (it’s so pretty and heartbreaking ;;; ) and this came to my head! I placed it at some point during “Last Sled to Dawson”, when they were staying at Goldie’s hotel and well …

Today I went to my father’s childhood home and he gave my this incredible book of his which tells the history of aviation through Disney characters- both of us being pilots and all. He used to religiously read it as a kid and I found some pretty interesting illustrations in it; blue Panchito and magenta Zé were among my favorites. Also, Donald is referred to as ‘Donald McDuck’.
The story shows a bleak future in which Huey, Dewey and Louie had to grow up mostly alone. It’s slightly darker than usual for a Ducks comic, but the concept is very interesting.
It begins like this: Scrooge is stung and falls to Sleeping Sickness. He is in a coma and there is no cure in Donald and the triplets’ current time. The only option they have is to travel 20 years into the future in hopes of obtaining a special healing flower that takes 2 decades to bloom.
There’s someone (*cough* @hard-headed-woman *cough*) who loves this sorceress a lot and I was absolutely inspired by her beautiful art of her. ❤️ I couldn’t decide if I liked Morg with or without the lipstick, so both versions exist now. Take your pick.

Today I present story, which is translated by legendary @lettheladylead!!! It’s a great honour to me. (subscribe, if you somehow still didn’t)
So, it’s a story Daisy and the Dueling Dames (Paperina e le due litiganti) which I found while searching through 2000’s Topolinos. I fall in love with artstyle, saved it and now you can see a scanlation with your own eyes.

Donald’s family is composed of three branches. The McDuck Clan, Coot kin and the Duck family.
Coots are smaller birds that often get mistaken for ducks and while Coot can be used as a last name like how Duck or Mouse are common last names in the duckverse (like Johnson or Smith etc) I doubt that Barks and Rosa went out of their way to give them a last name without it having some biological meaning as well.
Donald’s dad, Quackmore Duck, is the son of Elvira Coot and Humperdink Duck. Now, unfortunately we don’t know much about Humperdink’s parents but we’re given enough tools at our disposal to figure enough out.
Donald’s mother is Hortense McDuck, a fiery duck from Scotland. As far as I can tell, duck is all she has.
So that’s it right?? Donald is part duck part coot??

DONALD’S PART GOOSE AS WELL
The guy who looks high at the bottom left corner of the picture there?? That’s Gus Goose. He’s a semi-distant cousin of Donald’s related to him from his father.
Now it’s implied from the family tree that the goose part for Gus came from Luke Goose which is fine and dandy and it could very well have been from him. But again, it doesn’t have to be the only source of goose in his family. (and it already isn’t considering Gladstone Gander canonically being half goose half duck)
Humperdink’s parents are unknown right?? Who’s to say he isn’t part goose as well? Maybe he got it from his dad or mom who knows they’re not in the tree. And if he’s part goose part duck, then Quackmore is goose-duck-coot mixed.
Going by all of this, we can say that Donald Duck is 2/4ths Duck, ¼th Coot and ¼th Goose.
