Enmi complains it always tastes stale despite the all kinds of flavor the put in the labels. We find the slavetrading with mining ships all point to one place, we looked each other when we realize what it was. The Churchgold Station. Calling it a station would be an immense understatement. Long story short the pirates tired getting their hideout busted all the time so all the pirate ringleaders pool their recources to build a motherbase for all pirates. A massive fortress built in a mega asteroid formations, protected by the largest pirate fleet in the galaxy.

INKTOBER 14 “Resilience”

We got out of the Hearty Palace by the skin of our teeth. We stole one of the ship parked in the hangar, the feral swarmed the ship and blew one of the thrusters. We were forced to land on the nearby rocky habitable planet. After got seconds to sit and take a breath. Enmi still couldn’t understand what has happened. It’s time to tell her the truth. I told her about the whispers, the mining ship I found and the feral space farer I encountered. I told her the whisper got louder when we met the Archon’s daughter, and she might be the caused why the whole station lost their minds. Enmi takes it all in without a word, I can tell she’s connecting the dots in her mind. I told her that I might end up like them, that one day the whisper will consumed my mind. She shakes her head and say she knew why I haven’t lost my mind yet. She said that I have a strong mental resilience, and in the short time we known each other, she can felt my resolve. I didn’t know what to say, this journey has been a lonely path. And now to have someone that believed in me, it felt like the road ahead is less arduous.

INKTOBER 13 “swarmed”

Hearing the feral screaming I can only imagined one thing. The whole station has lost its mind. And I was right. The minute we got into the upper level we were swarmed by the Hearty Palace regulars. Merchants, mercenaries, escorts, smugglers, businessman, or just space farer who’s looking for some entertainment. All lost their minds as their eyes blackened. Enmi was taken a back, this is her first encounter with them, but she quickly snapped out of the shock and began to take them out one by one. Can’t keep this forever, eventually we will run out of bullet and got ovewhelmed. We make our way into the hangars, but the station emergency lockdown system kicks in. While I work on bypassing the doors lock, Enmi tries to held the horde back.

INKTOBER DAY 8 “Unwind”

The reinforcement from IGPD arrived and took care the last of the pirates. They began to evacuate the kidnapped slaves. We got a little time to catch a bit of a break. We popped open cold drinks, and Enmi ask me again about the sharks. I didn’t met many cops before, but Enmi has this passion for adventures and a sense of wonder. She’s born on a spaceship and been living in a colony whole of her life, she’s never been to Earth. So I began to explain about the sharks and the conversations keep going into the movies about sharks. I told her the most famous shark movie plot and she got into this laughing fit and stating that is the most ridiculous thing she ever heard. How long has it been since I unwind like this. I’ve been on the road for years, following clues from one place to another, chasing the whispers. Now that I think about it, throughout this conversation with her, the whisper was silent, and I was here, all of me, right here in this moment.

INKTOBER DAY 5 “The Cop”

Her armor might not have a jet pack. But I failed to notice her cutting edge booster boots. She landed on top of me, disarmed me in one fell swoop, the next thing I know I was on the ground with a gun on my head. She asked me what was I doing in the dry dock archives. I couldn’t answer, a crowd starts to gather to see the commotion. She waved a badge then the crowd quickly dissipates. No one dares to mess with IGPD. She cuffs me then drag me into her ship. An IGPD stealth fighter, this interplanetary fighter is rare and only given to the best officers. The moment I saw the fighter, I knew i had no chance of escaping her. She asked again, what was I doing in the archives. I told her about the mining ship, it’s like her face suddenly lights up. She was working on a case, a daughter of a powerful Archon was kidnapped, and the witness saw her last being taken away in a mining ship. Lieutenant Enmi Arozha, 2nd division IGPD recon specialist, she introduces herself, and request my cooperations.

I arrived at the Astromine branch at Harogen, the VI assistant claim that the company doesn’t have a mining ship with that number. Something doesn’t add up, seems like the data all about that ship has been erased. The dry dock might have logs of the ship in a different server. Of course the logs data is not for public so I have to sneak into the admin building. Seems I’m not the only one thinking of this, as the download about to finish, I felt a gun pointed to my head. I turned around slowly, she don the armor of IGPD, Inter Galactic Police Department, telling me to hand over the data. I’m too far to get caught now, I grab the flashdrive and bust through the window, she wouldn’t follow me, I don’t remember IGPD armor equipped with jet packs. She didn’t care, and jump right out to chase me.

This ship home base was at one of the Astromine branch in Harogen, a busy planet that serves as a port hub between 14 systems, that’s where I’m heading next.

I was about to give the search when I found a mining probe which lead me to an abandoned mining ship. Old designs, sturdy, and used. I went aboard to investigate it. Strange the artificial gravity still functioning, but there’s no one around. I continued to the cargo bay then I saw movements in the shadows. In split seconds four figures lunged at me. Feral, howling, and eyes black as the darkside of the moon. They’re wearing deep space explorations suits. In that moment I knew they were like me, they heard the whispers too, and came here in search of the source. Only it consumes them, drove them insane, mindless husks. This could be my future, and I deny it with a full clip of my submachine gun.

The galaxy is a big place, too many places to hide and disappears. It’s been 3 lunar cycle since I embark on journey. And it has more than two solar cycle since I’ve heard the whispers. Dark whispers that claws onto your sanity. Somedays it’s so loud it drives you mad, otherdays it’s just there lingers, it never leaves.

I intend to find whoever or whatever the source of this whispers. My search has lead me here. C-114BA, an exoplanet hovering just outside Carina constellation. It’s rare for an exoplanet to have a ring system. A perfect place to hide.
