Hello, everybody! I’m so sorry if I’ve been MIA for the longest time. I’ve now become a working boy and it’s become nearly impossible to maintain this Tumblr account.
But I’m back to post my submission for the @emimikezine, curated by the hardworking @dettsu.
Just to recap: for the zine, I’m creating an assassin-slash-music school AU artwork wherein Mickey is a assassin-slash-classical violinist who gets involved with his schoolmate Emil Nekola, a jazz saxophonist. (Lol my apologies if the saxophone is inaccurately illustrated. I had a hard time with it.)

That being said, admin is now in better health and slowly recovering. So thank you to all those who have sent kind messages throughout the month! Here’s a little preview of the cover. We’re slowly collating all the entries so preorders should be open soon enough! Updates will be posted here accordingly.
Artists and writers have dropped out and been added throughout the duration of the production of this zine, so we’ll update the list of creators as well.

We have recently been made aware of the negative response to one of the prompt options for the EmiMike Zine. We acknowledge the parties’ concerns and have taken them into consideration as we prepare the zine.
We have decided to drop the word “mafia” from our descriptions, captions, and stories after this incident.
As the curator, I have encouraged all participants in the zine to read up on the matter in order to better educate ourselves, so we may be more sensitive to the issue and be able to make responsible choices in creating our art and stories.
We apologize for our oversight and hope everyone will still support and enjoy the book.

Recentemente abbiamo ricevuto un responso negativo ad uno dei prompt per la EmiMike Zine. Riconosciamo la preoccupazione delle persone che l'hanno sollevato e ne stiamo tenendo conto nella preparazione la zine.
Abbiamo quindi deciso di eliminare la parola “mafia” da tutte le descrizioni, didascalie e storie che fanno parte della zine.
Come curatrice ho incoraggiato tutti i partecipanti ad informarsi sull'argomento, in modo da essere più sensibili rispetto al problema e in modo da poter prendere delle decisioni responsabili nella creazione delle proprie illustrazioni e storie.
Ci scusiamo per la svista e speriamo che possiate continuare a supportare e apprezzare la zine.

EDIT: We EmiMike Zine participants have received word on the negative response towards one of our prompts (and my artwork and its original caption for it here on Tumblr became the discourse avenue for it), so we decided it was best to drop the word, “mafia”, in all of our outputs from all of our creative output for the zine. YAY! I received my copy of the @emimikezine and I can finally show you the short comic I drew for the Fantasy AU side of the project!! <3 <3
It feels like I drew this ages ago, but I’m still proud of it and I’m super happy of how it looks printed!! <3 this zine has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I’m really grateful to @dettsu for choosing me and I’m really happy she managed to bring it to life!
All the artist and author involved are super talented and I’m super honoured to have been the only Italian artist of the zine and grateful for the chance to show my love for Michele and Emil!! <3 <3
