This was my first illustration I did on Procreate! I didn’t expect how much I’d love to draw on my iPad Pro and Procreate is amazing ✨
Bread’s Game Journal 04/30/22: Zero Build Reveals The Awful Truth, I’m Bad At Fortnite.
Well, either that, or the fact that I primarily play the game while on an exercise bike as a way to keep my mind half focused on something that isn’t pain. Probably that first thing, though. It’s been almost two years now since I’ve actively gotten into Fortnite, which seems like an insane thing to say. When I first stared “seriously” playing, it was largely just because my best friend was newly obsessed with the game because of the Marvel season, but then I bought that Battle Pass and now I’ve never recovered.
Zero Build is easily the largest change to the game since I started playing. What started out as a plot twist that de-activated the ability to build any structures is now a permanent option. It’s largely the same game, with a couple new movement features and a lack the aforementioned structure building. Even so, it’s a big change in the way the game flows. You don’t have to worry about people building some kind of insane structure you’ll never break through, but you also don’t have the ability to create your own cover anymore either!
Instead the game now has this very basic, down to brass tacks style battle royale charm that it always felt like it had just under the building surface. It’s a far more approachable experience, without the endless complications that came from every player other than you being some kind of super fast nightmare person throwing up a castle in under 2 seconds. Now I’m free to do what I do best in multiplayer games, not pay attention to sounds and get sniped in one shot because I was paying more attention to a podcast than I was to the game.
Unless you’re reading this, Raven, in which case I’m still better at the game than you, and I have more Peely’s.
It’s The Biggest Day Of The Year As *Checks Notes* Fortnite Starts A New Chapter! (No, Really!)
The extent to which I have gotten into Fortnite over the last year or so is nothing short of bizarre. I had played the game a little bit before, but had never been all too invested in earning rewards or advancing passes in the name of cosmetics. All that changed when my friend made me aware there was a whole season of the game based around Marvel. “I’ll just look at the Marvel stuff, I don’t need any of this other fluff” I thought. “Oh, wow, this game is actually rock solid isn’t it?” I discovered. “If I save enough V-Bucks, I’ll be able to afford Potassius Peels, the Roman Centurion version of my beloved Peely” is where I wound up.
So, needless to say, the fact that there’s a new chapter starting today. One that brings with it a whole new map and a host of other new features, is a big deal! I’ve not been more excited for an update to an existing game like this since the last World of Warcraft expansion. And if you know me, you are fully aware how off the charts hyped I get whenever there’s a new WoW expansion.
Oh, also, The Rock is here? And he’s in a cyber suit? The lore of Fortnite is a spiral path of nonsense cameos, Secret Organizations, and flat out official appearances by any licensed character you can think of. Hell, I’ve barely scratched the surface of exploring the new map but I already know that a dimensionally displaced Daily Bugle is just on the map waiting to be explored! I personally can’t wait to get kicked off with this new Chapter of a game I’ve become shockingly invested in. And if you’d like to give it a try, there’s really not much better of a time. Slates been wiped pretty clean, and it’s just waiting to take you as off guard as it took me.
At this point, we would be surprised if the entire BRUTE concept remains past Season 10 — they’re not very popular, except with the weasels who score an easy win with them. Their presence in Fortnite has been greatly reduced and as of today, they’re capable of even less. Instead of outright removal, they’re facing…
Fortnite BRUTEs DeBRUTalized Further was originally published on Battle Royale Forums
Can season 10 of Fortnite be salvaged after the BRUTE debacle? Depends on the reaction to the latest weapon, the Junk Rift. (Also, the mechs are still there, last we checked.) What do the Junk Rifts do? Their use is simple: you throw one, and a random object materializes through an open rift above wherever…

Are the BRUTEs the most unpopular addition to Fortnite there has ever been? The giant mechs have only been operational for a little over a week, but fans everywhere are howling for their removal from the game. #RemoveTheMech was Twitter’s top trending hashtag yesterday. As it is, winning a match pretty much depends on two…

Fortnite Season 10 landed today with a bang — the bang of giant mechs called BRUTES hitting the ground! Does the latest crazy new idea from Epic throw the balance off Fortnite, or are BRUTEs just what the game needed to stay fresh? BRUTEs appear at random on the map, and you can spot them…

Hard up for cash these days? You might want to find and befriend somebody named Kyle Giersdorf. He just won the Fortnite World Cup, taking home a prize of three million dollars. Giersdorf, who goes by the easier-to-type handle Bugha, pretty much dominated the matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium this weekend. He cleared a win…

Why were two giant monsters battling each other on the Fortnite map this afternoon? Did Pacific Rim 3 come out and no one else tell us? It’s not a tie-in for any movie or TV series. It was simply a kaiju fight in Fortnite. The two creatures towered over the battlefield and players could not…

What’s in and what’s out, weapon-wise, in Fortnite this week? Patch v9.40 adds one new gun, subtracts another, and unvaults a third. The new gun is the Tactical Shotgun, the fourth shotgun drop currently available in the game. It does more damage than the other shotguns, and has no loss in rate, so as of…

What are the strange vinelike portals in Fortnite about? They began showing up today in a specific part of the map. These portals look a LOT like the ones you see on the walls in Stranger Things episodes….and by no coincidence, that show just happened to drop its third season at midnight last night. You…
