PARADIS Fall/Winter 2014 “0.2: Behind the White Door” Collection
ByMarta Sundac
For Fall/Winter 2014, 3.PARADIS presents their third ready-to-wear collection titled “0.2: Behind the White Door.” Comprising a monochrome lineup of luxury sportswear the French brand has become synonymous with, the upcoming fall season once again references Japan, this time through karate-inspired details. High necklines, karate-uniform piping on jackets, and a black-and-white color palette carried the look across, while extra straps on garments played on the belt ranking system the sport is known for.

Camel. No not the animal, the color. Camel is one of the biggest colors of fall/winter fashion. It’s a staple color, one can never go wrong with camel. Good ‘ole Louis did it, that sweater is something else. I’ve been good this year, maybe Santa will bring it my way! Next are coats, YOU can never ever ever go wrong with a camel colored pea coat or trench coat. Always have one handy, it always looks good. Now if you want to ease your way into camel why not try a scarf. You can do patterned or solid, I prefer a patterned one, rock it like this guy, I know he’s wearing a coat too, but I couldn’t help it! But in all serious, invest in some camel it will go a long way, and you will re-use it for years on end.
So instead of doing a collection, I’m going to dedicate this post to an item. The ultimate article of clothing every man should whether you’re 18 or 48 that’s right my friends the blazer/jacket. You need to understand that a blazer/jacket don’t always need to be a formal event, they can be dressed down. I’ve picked 4 different yet similar, 3 are velvet (one of my personal favorite fabrics, next to denim). The first comes from Mr. Pierre Balmain, I mean check it out, freaking doubled breasted wool jacket, ugh navy gets be every time, and its lapel is immaculate. I mean it’s constructed so well, If I didn’t have a balance on my credit card, I would most def. buy this for winter, I know what you’re thinking wool in winter, why not? It’s Balmain! On to the next one, the oh so luxurious Dolce and Gabbana, this deep red almost crimson velvet tux jacket, now if I had parents on Wall St or the Upper East Side, this would def. be in my closet, but for now I’ll window shop. I don’t need to say much its MOFOing Dolce and Gabbana you know it’s going be made from the best by the best, you’re in great hands, so if you have an extra 2Gs lying around go ahead and buy it! The next 2 I’m covering are for the every day guy, they are affordable if you make 8.50/hour. First lets go to Topman, ok so you made need more then just 8.50/hour, but hey it’s good quality, first of all blue is my favorite colors and they made it in velvet, I’m all over this one (I’m pretty sure this is some hue of ocean blue). I mean look how the light hits it, it’s so dapper, well all of these are dapper or I wouldn’t have covered them. I would literally wear that all the time, it’s pretty sick. And last but not least H&M this purple blazer is actually kinda amazing. I mean purple isn’t really anywhere in my color spectrum but that shouldn’t stop you, this blazer along with the topman one are a little less formal, because of the lapel which means you could wear them more often i.e. dinner, party, night on the town. Anywho damn this turned out to be long, well here you have it, 4 different types of blazers/jackets, some for my high end friends and then some for my working guy/me.
