#fma cosplay
Continuing the game of “What If?” where the latest human-based Homonculus is a certain Lieutenant.
[[Video description:
Off-screen, Roy curses in exasperation, saying ‘f*ck me.’
Riza, working at her desk with Lust’s Ouroboros tattoo visible on her chest looks up sharply, clearly interested. She leans forward, singing along with the words “If you gave me a chance, I would take it.”
End description.]]
Between Roy’s gloves and Havoc’s smoking, this much policy is unfortunately necessary.
[[Video description: Music playing from “Talk Dirty to Me” by Jason DeRulo. With the words “Our conversations ain’t long,” a Riza cosplayer stands close to the camera, just her head and shoulders visible.
As the song lyrics say “but you know what is,” she gives the camera an exasperated look and takes a step back to reveal she is holding a stack of paper half a foot thick.
As the song lyrics say “I know,” the words “the office fire safety policy” appear onscreen.]]
The hecking power that little temp tattoo gives, I tell ya…
[[Video description: a woman with long brown hair sits in a chair, singing Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” to herself. She stops and says “oh no, wait, I messed up. Let me try again.” She leans back in the chair.
It switches to the same woman now in a Riza Hawkeye cosplay, with some differences. She has no jacket, and wears a black button down shirt. It is unbuttoned partway and she adjusts it to show the Ouroboros tattoo on her chest.
As she says “Bad Guy,” there is a creepy flutter on the words, followed by a normal-sounding, insolent, “Duh.”]]
I play a lot of ‘what if?’ in my head, and this is the result.
[Video description: The camera pans up as a Riza Hawkeye cosplayer shrugs out of her uniform jacket, showing a black button-down shirt underneath. She undoes the top two buttons. Text on the screen reads “Let’s play a game of 'What if?’ After all….”
The shot cuts to her in profile as she adjusts the collar of the shirt, turning to face the camera. The top of the shirt is open to reveal the Ouroboros tattoo on her chest, in the same place as Lust’s was. Text on the screen reads “Who sayid there could only be two human-based Homonculi?”, implying Riza is now the news Lust.]]
Trying to be supportive of her brother’s sparring can be… difficult.
[[Video description: an Olivier Armstrong cosplayer shouts to some off-screen, presumably her brother. “Use your muscles that your worked so hard for!”
Someone behind her, also off-screen, says “He stopped working out last week! He’s weak!”
She yells at her brother again. “Why’d you stop working out?!”
He yells back “I was sad!” Her expression drops into exasperation as the other person off-screen laughs.]]
My main ladies!
[[Video Description: A cosplayer lip sync’s to an audio from Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog.’ She says “That doesn’t sound too bad!”
As the audio continues ('A redhead on my left arm’), she transitions into a cosplay of Mara Jade from the Star Wars Expanded universe.
The audio continues ('a brunette on my right’) and she transitions into a cosplay of Vex'ahlia from Critical Role’s first campaign.
As the audio continues ('a blonde or two to hold a candle’), she transitions first into a cosplay of Riza Hawkeye and then Olivier Armstrong, both from Fullmetal Alchemist.
Ad the audio ends ('now that seems just about right’), it shows the cosplayer as herself again, smiling.
Can we take a moment to discuss the improvements of my Edward cosplay? Since first cosplaying him in December 2019 I was satisfied until as of recent. It wasn’t until September where I actively put forth the effort to enhance him.
I trimmed and had help restyling his wig, brought the belt, swapped the pants with faux leather, used a more-fitting shirt, replaced the shoes used in the recent shoot I had for him and got a better pair of contacts. As an Edward kin, this cosplay is a huge comfort for me.
Despite my current dilemma I hope to continue fixing up both old and newer cosplays I’ve obtained. There’s quite a lot of them I have to get shoots for, but I’m excited for them either way.
Attended c2e2 for the first time this year and had a blast! Here’s what my weekend looked like. I was interviewed by NBC news and was featured in c2e2’s promo video as BoTW Link!
