I’m sorry if this is a little specific, but I just have a prompt request where it’s a medieval setting and Person A is a prince while Person B is their bodyguard, but there’s no romance between them and they’re just good bros. Once again, I’m sorry if this is a little too specific but all I can find are otp prompts. Thank you in advance!”
1. “Seriously? They could have killed you back there.”
“I knew you’d take care of it.”
2. “I think that stopping you from running away from the palace in the middle of the night with a band of pirates is covered under bodyguard duties.”
“You could always come with us.”
3. “Your father doesn’t like that you treat me as a friend.”
“You may have noticed, then, that my father rules the kingdom alone. That is not the kind of king I want to be. You are my friend, and nothing will change that.”
4. “Why are you grinning like that?”
“Someone offered me my weight in gold to betray you tonight. We can split it, if you like.”
“Do I even want to know what you did to them?”
“My job.”
5. “It’s time for you to leave. We will not win this. I order you as your prince.”
“And as your friend, I refuse. If you’d like to fire me after this is over, it’s all well and good; I’d rather like a vacation, after all of this nonsense.”
6. “You shouldn’t speak to me like that. You are royalty, and our friendship is-”
“I have long considered you my brother. And I will not betray family to anyone… Not even those who share my blood.”
7. “Rough night?”
“One of those where I just want to throw off my crown and burn the palace to ash rather than deal with political drama for one minute more.”
“… Come on. Let’s spar for a bit.”
8. “You’re lucky, you know? You could just… Leave. Walk out that door and disappear. If I tried that, I’d wind up dead within a week because some neighboring king borrowed my head.”
“And that’s what you have me for.”
9. “The king is going to try to kill you.”
“Why are you telling me this? You work for him.”
“I chose my side a long time ago.”
10. “I’ve lost it all: my kingdom, my crown, my claim to my family… What do I have left?”
“An annoying bodyguard that found some shelter, for one.”
“You should leave me. Everyone else has, and I certainly can’t pay you.”
“Hm. Interesting thoughts, but no. Now shut up and get to the shelter.”
