How can you regain something you never lost?
Julian must repress the urge to throw his arms around Garak and sob, “I thought I’d lost you.” He wouldn’t know what he was talking about; he can’t know. If he does, he shouldn’t.
Just returning from another away mission; business as usual. Forget the hiss of disruptor fire, the smell of charred cloth and scales. Forget the final quip, the spark of life leaving pale blue eyes.
“Doctor, to what do I owe the pleasure?”
