#here have some angst
And what of falling stars,
and crashing waves?
What of split tectonic plates?
What of
you,
me,
us,
and the yawning chasm
between?
(Do you still say my name like
the only
prayer
you’ve ever
known?)
As self-centred as Barrabas is, I think he was probably heartbroken when he had to leave the West (and Chamberlain) behind
He’d hide his pain behind jokes and songs, get drunk to forget, but in the late hours of the night, he’d lie awake thinking about his mistakes, about how he could change
In season 3, seeing Chamberlain again, it brought back all the memories of their time together, and yet he did not want to show weakness, so he jokes around instead, trying not to let the hurt show
He may say ‘crisis averted’ when Chamberlain rejects him in episode 3, but maybe that was just an excuse he gave himself so he didn’t let the rejection set in
Basically, I think Barrabas has more depth to him than it first seems
