Well, I might as well end my Spaceship run where I started, with the USS Enterprise. This time it’s the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E. The E is a Sovereign-Class Federation Heavy Explorer starship, launched on Stardate 49827.5 from the San Francisco Fleet Yards as the cutting edge of Starfleet ship design. The ship started construction as the USS Honorius, but was rechristened after the destruction of the Enterprise D at Veridian III. 

Slave 1, a modified Firespray 31-Class patrol ship was once owned by the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett, who stole the ship from the Oovo IV prison moon. After Jango Fett’s death at the Battle of Geonosis the ship was passed along to his clone son, Boba Fett. Sadly the dashing blue and yellow paint job didn’t stay for long.

The tiny, but powerful, Kylothian military ship that brought Serleena to planet earth, in search of the Light of Zartha. The light is key to the Kylothian quest to conquer or destroy the Zarthans, their sworn enemies. Serleena will stop at nothing, including the destruction of Earth to retrieve it.

The Space Cruiser, is a UFO-like space-fairing vehicle constructed by Rick Sanchez. The Space Cruiser is powered by a Microverse battery, containing a miniature universe whose sole purpose is to generate electricity for the vehicle. However, the inhabitants of the Microverse themselves created a Miniverse Battery, rendering Rick’s battery obsolete.

In 1953 mysterious objects plummet to various points on earth. Soon the objects open, revealing themselves to be transportation pods for alien craft, from the planet Mars. Emerging in groups of three, the seemingly unstoppable Martian war machines wreck havoc on planet Earth, and it’s people. Now, one could argue that these machines aren’t really ships. In fact, they even sorta explain that they are lifted by invisible legs in the movie. But, I’m calling them a spaceship, cause they come from space, and they fly. And they’re pretty darn badass too. And legit scary for a 1950s movie. 

Ack-ack ack-ack-ack. ACK! ACK! Ack-ack-ack-ack! ACK!!!!! (translation: We come in peace. Don’t be afraid. We are your friends. Please destroy all your Slim Whitman recordings)

On July 4th, 1978, 12 year old David Freeman goes missing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. 8 years later he returns. For David, no time has passed and he hasn’t aged. Then he starts having visions of a mysterious spaceship that crashed nearby. A Trimaxion Drone Ship, built by the Phaelons, to be exact. Between Flight of the Navigator, The Last Starfighter, Space Camp and Explorers, the 80s had the “young kids going into space” genre down pat.

The Skyfighter was the main fighter of the Visitors fleet. While initially promised as a defence aid to the people of Earth, the Skyfighter proved to be an effective tool of suppression, once the Visitors revealed their true natures.

The TIE/wi modified interceptor (or Tie Whisper) was manufactured by Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems as Supreme Leader Kylo Ren’s personal fighter. Built with increased firepower, range and speed than a standard TIE interceptor, the TIE Whisper was also equipped with advanced sensor-confusing technology, making the ship almost invisible to scans.

Major Valerian and Sergeant Laureline, agents of United Human Federation patrol the deep space multi-species city of Alpha in an XB982 Astroship. The astroship is able to travel anywhere using a spatio-temporal jump, a hyperspace drive enabling near-instant transportation anywhere in space and time. 

The Galra Empire is a 10,000 year intergalactic empire, ruled with an iron fist by Emperor Zarkon. The Galra Battleship is the backbone of the Imperial fleet, responsible for maintaining dominance over hundreds of worlds. Until a legendary defender re-emerged to fight back. 

The largest of the Voltron lions, the Black Lion forms the torso of the mighty Voltron robot. Piloted by Team Voltron leader Keith, the Black Lion sits on the moat tower of the Castle of Lions, proudly serving as Arus’ first line of defence against King Zarkon’s forces. 

An Atreides Space Transporter. Space Transporters connect with the spacefaring Heighliners controlled by the Spacing Guild. Heighliners, controlled by mutated Guild Navigators, use the Holtzman effect to fold space and travel between planets. There’s also something to do with spice in there. And Padishah? And something with giant worms? I dunno. Dune is really confusing. 

On January 14, 1972, the American National Space Administration (ANSA) launched the Liberty 1 (nicknamed ICARUS) to journey to another star. With the crew in stasis, the ship travelled 2000 years into the future, landing on what the crew thought was an alien world, dominated by a society of intelligent apes. Much to the surprise of astronaut George Taylor, he discovers that he is, in fact, on Earth, long after a war destroyed the planet. You see, they blew it up. The maniacs. They blew it up! God, damn them! Damn them all to hell!!! 

Welcome aboard Pan Universe airline’s Mayflower. We seem to be having a problem in the cockpit. What is it? It’s the place up front where the captain sits, but that’s not important right now. 

As the Earthforce’s primary non-atmospheric deep space fighter, the Mk2 SA-23E Mitchell-Hyundyne Starfury is highly maneuverable and flexible ship, equipped with 4 forward facing JC466/A Pulse discharge cannons, 2 JC44 cannons and 4 Beigle-Bryant 9000A Particle Thrust Engines. The Starfury is highly regarded and largely unmatched amongst the younger races (with the notable exception of the superior Minbari Nial class fighters).

The Atomic Rocket Ship Luna, humanity’s first ship to reach and land on the moon. Well, at least according to 1950’s Destination Moon, one of the rare serious science-fiction movies of the era. The Luna was a single stage rocket, was 150 long and used a solid core nuclear thermal rocket, using water as it’s main propellant. In the film the ship lands back on Earth, nose-up, on it’s tail. Pretty impressive since in reality it took another 68 years to figure out how to pull that off. 

The UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft, manufactured by the Incom Corporation, was a troop transport/gunship. The versatile U-Wing was one of the last ships produced by Incom before it was nationalized by the Empire, and only a limited number were produced. However, thanks to Senator Bail Organa, a “lost” squadron of the versatile ships ended up in Rebel hands, and played an essential role in the events leading up to, and during, the Battle of Scarif. 

A living biomechanical spaceship, Moya is a female Leviathan. Leviathans are bonded with a Pilot, who act as navigator, companion and liaison to passengers onboard. Moya was captured by the Peacekeepers at a young age, eventually escaping and gaining her, and her Pilot’s, freedom.

The sudden appearance of a missing squadron of WWII fighters in Mexico. The discovery of the SS Cotopaxi in the Gobi desert. Mysterious power outages across Indiana. All leading to a monumental event culminating at Devils Tower, Wyoming and humanities first encounter with alien life. And an awesome light show and some sick synth music to go with it! 

Despite disbelief and ridicule from fellow academics, Dr. Daniel Jackson accurately theorized that the ancient Egyptian pyramids were built as landing platforms for extraterrestrial ships. Specifically, a Cheops Class warship of the Goa'uld fleet. The massive pyramid ship served as both a war ship and moveable palace for the Goa'uld, a parasitic species who used the Stargate network to conquer and enslave different worlds. 

Oh Starcrash. Where do I even begin. It’s a Star Wars knock-off with a screenplay written by someone who never saw Star Wars, but only read the novelization of the movie. It has a giant hand-shaped spaceship, a robot with a southern U.S. accent. Oh, and did I mention it also has David Hasselhoff? Cause it also has that too. Fighting stop motion robots with a “laser sword”. Thank you @_hdtgm_  and @mst3k for introducing me to this piece of art. 

A star racer, cobbled together from (allegedly) an old T-65B X-Wing and a Z-75 Headhunter, the Fireball earned it’s name by it’s tendency to catch fire randomly. Piloted by Kazuda Xiono, who was sent to the Colossus on a spy mission on the behalf of the Resistance against the First Order. 

Part of the Infinity Guard fleet, the Galaxy One served as Gary Goodspeed’s prison while he served out his sentence, accompanied only by the ship’s artificial intelligence H.U.E. and his Deep Space Insanity Avoidance Companion, KVN. Until they meet Mooncake that is. Then things get super weird. 

The Ghost is a Modified Corellian Engineering Corporation VCX-100 light freighter, owned and captained by Hera Syndulla. The main operational base of the Spectre Rebel cell, the Ghost was an important part of the early formation of the Rebel alliance against the Empire. It saw action in key battles and operations including the Battle of Atollon, the Liberation of Lothal and the Battle of Scarif. Many years later the Ghost answered the call to arms against the First Order, joining the Battle of Exegol as part of the Resistance Fleet. 

The Phoenix is the main ship of the G-force team (or Science Ninja Team Gatchaman if you want to be really accurate). The Phoenix is a supersonic aircraft capable of both spaceflight and underwater operations. It also carries and deploys the 4 other G-Force vehicles in their fight to protect Earth from the planet Spectra and other attacks from beyond space. #battleoftheplanets 

Nell. The, um, well-endowed ship of Zed, the last of the Akira Corsairs from Roger Corman’s low budget epic; Battle Beyond the Stars. Fun fact: Nell, and pretty much all of the set design, art direction and specials effects in Battle of the Planets was done by none other than James Cameron.

The 2154 Bugatti. For when you definitely want to abandon the overcrowded blasted hellscape of Earth to the unwashed masses so you can hide out on your ultra luxurious space station with all the other one-percenters, but you want to do it really stylishly. 

In 1982 a giant extraterrestrial ship appeared in the sky above Johannesburg, South Africa. The excitement over first contact with a new life form quickly turns sour as the ship is found to be derelict and filled with malnourished worker-class aliens. Seeking to exploit their technology, the government relocates the aliens to camps, subjecting them to extreme poverty, exploitation and abuse.
